Great Ride Fellas, Thank You!

January 18th, 2012 - 9:06am by mark_cooperOther posts by

Still getting over the fact that we ran out of time in Foxborough. You never say the “L” word. Brady and the Pats were a better team and we had to win at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball to beat the Pats.

Almost a replay of the earlier game in the year and frankly I could have used the first/same post verbatim. That would be cheating though. Playoffs…man.

There’s nothing worse than get knocked out of the playoffs. It’s so incredibly tough to get here and especially the way this group got there with new coaches, no OTAs, different camp, different CBA, you name it. Tebow stepping in and the entire offensive scheme change. When I say WOW it’s an understatement.

Team-Tim-Thomas-Tastic Win!

January 9th, 2012 - 2:03pm by mark_cooperOther posts by

It doesn’t get much better than that, does it, you BRONCO-MANIACS? Wow!! 11 seconds into overtime and a 80-yard touchdown strike. Tebow reads the defense and Thomas does the rest. The defense was dominant and the O-line gave Tebow all the time in the world. Way to go fellas!!

Have to tell you a funny story. So all week I’m going back and forth with one of my very best friends who played 12 years with the Steelers and has two Super Bowl rings, Gary Dunn (pictured above). We both played at the “U” and played against each other in the league. He owns a hotel, restaurant/sports bar in the Florida Keys called the OV which stands for Oceanview, in Islamorada. Many of you have heard this name that read this blog.

Playoffs

January 3rd, 2012 - 3:11pm by mark_cooperOther posts by

One game at a time, win the Division. Then anything can happen, right?

That’s the goal in training camp. WIN the Division, How? One game at a time and I don’t care HOW you do it…just win the division.

Sorry, but all the negativity after winning the division, give me a break. GO BRONCOS!

The Scrooge lives in Buffalo

Much like last week, penalties and turnovers and special teams play.

Have to fix the 2nd quarter blues.

Pretty simple game to sum up again this week. You can’t turn the ball over and have penalties that create opportunities for the other team, especially when you are playing “ANY TEAM IN THE NFL”.

Almost ditto to last week, we didn’t put enough pressure on the QB position period. Even I can get open if I have enough time………….O.K. never mind. Checking to see if you were awake.

So, let’s see who starts jumping off the bandwagon. I’ve already heard a few ankles crack this week.

K.C. week, let’s GO BRONCOS!!!

Penalties and Turnovers

December 20th, 2011 - 3:04pm by mark_cooperOther posts by

Can’t wait to hear everyone this week. I don’t know about you but I enjoyed the game to the very end.

Pretty simple to sum up. You can’t turn the ball over and have penalties that create opportunities for the other team, especially when you are playing the Patriots.

I thought we handled the line of scrimmage on offense but lost the line of scrimmage on defense. We didn’t put enough pressure on Superman to turn him back into Clark Kent, so he sat back there and had a bit of a field day passing to receivers that got extra time to get open.

Coaching and Game planning

December 14th, 2011 - 8:45am by mark_cooperOther posts by

Not enough credit has been handed out to this coaching staff. Changing the offensive scheme in the middle of a season….are you kidding me? Changing the game plan, week to week, quarter to quarter, play to play, situation to situation. If you had any idea (and some do) how tough that is week to week let alone the fact that this staff has to do it on the run during the game because the defense hasn’t seen enough film of these sets and reads to have it figured out, you would have a whole different appreciation for these comments.

The quarterback gets TOO much credit when things go good and TOO much heat when things go bad, promise. You know this. But Coach Fox should get coach of the year with these changes alone. He’s in charge.

This team is way ahead of the curve in comparison to the shape I thought it was left in from McDaniels. That’s called coaching too by the way. As you can tell I can’t say it enough, seriously. I’m impressed. So impressed, that think about this, we add a few more players on D this coming year and some depth and what do we have? A shut-down defense like we have never seen here and you have only watched in the past with the Ravens and Steelers of yesteryear.

Five in a Row!!

December 6th, 2011 - 10:15am by mark_cooperOther posts by

O.K. If someone would have said we win five in a row with a new quarterback, a new offense, NO OTA’s with our new QB with a new head coach and coaching staff and little time to adjust and put in what is basically a NEW offense and everyone be on the same page and WIN five in a row. What would you have said??? No way, right? Yep.

Coming to you today from San Diego on a business trip and everyone out here is making excuses for the Chargers not winning this week before or the division….kinda funny even though they have decimated O-line and have had a tough year.

But that gives you an idea of the sentiment in San Diego. I even ran into Tebow fans out here.

You know what they said?

The same thing I’ve said, he’s improving each week and is fun to watch.

PLUS great game plans and during the game adjustments to adjust to how we are being defended so give the coaching staff a HAND!!!!

Agree?

GO BRONCOS!

Cliché Finish!!

November 29th, 2011 - 1:04pm by mark_cooperOther posts by

Cliché, you bet!! TEAMWORK, the cliché nobody talks about anymore. Teamwork on Defense, Special teams and Offense and thank you Decker and McGahee.

Thank you offensive and defensive lines, thank you LBer’s and DB’s…you get the point. A total team effort. I didn’t know what to say sitting on the edge of my couch saying WOW!!! They’re going to pull this out or San Diego is going to give this away…back and forth, back and forth. Exhausting!!

Two teams fighting to the bitter end and BELIEVING THEY COULD WIN!

What gets any better than that??? Really what?

P.S. Thank you coaching staff. Little worried about the way the defenses are starting to read the option.

Can’t wait to hear your feedback.

GO BRONCOS!!!

Defense-tastic!!

November 21st, 2011 - 10:20am by mark_cooperOther posts by

Call me a homer but after watching the game, listening to the commentary both on TV and the radio comments after the game, I can’t seem to figure out why everyone wants to talk about what the Jets did wrong. Sanchez talks about taking the blame and the Jets didn’t do this or that…………ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!

The DEFENSE tattooed Sanchez and the DEFENSE scored and DEFENSE (Von-Doom and company) kept pounding him into submission. The DEFENSE won at the line of scrimmage a majority of the time and on 3rd downs and is playing as a team and at such a high level and not really getting any credit. Wow was that a run-on sentence :o )

Thank you Andre for the pick “6”!

Just Win!!!

Just Win!!!

It’s funny to listen to broadcasters and the highlight commentators talk about the lack of passing after the game, etc. As a former O-lineman it was a dream game. “Ground and Pound” away and dominate the line of scrimmage. Mix it up, trap, option, toss, keep them off pace and then toss a few passes to keep them from crowding the line of scrimmage too much. Let’s catch a few of those fellas off guard and make it even more complex to read.
