Willis McGahee Player Blog

September 10th, 2011 - 11:21am by Willis McGahee

Editor’s Note: This season, DenverBroncos.com will feature two player blogs. Willis McGahee will check in with a new post every week. Below is his first entry of the season.

What’s going on? It’s your boy Willis McGahee, 2-3. I just want to let everybody know I’m happy to be here in the Mile High City. You know I’m looking forward to having a lot of fun.

As far as Monday night, you know what, I really haven’t experienced the Raiders rivalry yet, but I’m looking forward to it.

And hey, if the Broncos don’t like em, and you guys don’t like em, then I hate em.

That’s all I’ve got for now, but I’ll be back next week.

Ready for Monday is an understatement…but here’s to a safe game and hopefully a win…I’m tired of losing to oakland at home

  2. baylinorcrush says:

You got the right attitude McGahee, great to hear from you, the motto here goes something like this:

    FTR!

Can’t wait for you to score TDs that count for us, starting Monday night would be great, god speed!

  3. zhaoyunfan says:

    from adam schefter
Q: Adam, what team will surprise the league this year? I mean which team will make the playoffs that no one expects. I think the Cleveland Browns are an option in the AFC North.
    – Ben (N.M.)
A: They are a potential surprise, Ben. Here are some other potential surprises, some bigger than others: the Giants, Redskins and Lions in the NFC; the Texans, Browns and Broncos in the AFC. Just some teams to watch. We’ll see how accurate that is, but you usually can start to detect the surprise teams right after Week 1. Enjoy the game tonight and the rest of them this weekend. Football’s back.

apperently we are a surprise team to look out for :D schefter just scored some points with me lol

  4. baylinorcrush says:

Shefter used to live in Denver and was a Bronco reporter before he went national and has always been in our camp, just saying, no great surprise here, expected stuff from Shefter and always appreciated.

  5. zhaoyunfan says:

not sure the texans are really a surprise after they are a surprise every freaking season lol

  6. baylinorcrush says:

BTW, now that Manning had a second neck surgery, the Texans won’t be a surprise team, they kind of instantly become a shoe-in to win their division.

  7. zhaoyunfan says:

michael lombardi has the titans winning that division, well i know one thing i doubt its the jaguars their qb sit is worse than ours lol

  8. baylinorcrush says:

Thing is the surprise has been that the Texans DON’T make the playoffs.

  9. zhaoyunfan says:

sucks i had drafted manning in the second round of one of my fantasy teams still picked up orton with like last pick lol so should be ok :P

  10. zhaoyunfan says:

they have our problem good o bad d

  11. baylinorcrush says:

Hasselbeck will be an instant upgrade for the Titans no doubt and I pick them to beat us in our game, so I can see that, Titans beating out the Texans, like the Colts did every year and once again, no playoffs for the Texans, LOL. Good division battle to follow…, specially here in Texas.

  12. zhaoyunfan says:

as for mcgahee welcome to denver bro i like that you hate the raiders just like us lol run over mcclain for us :D

  13. zhaoyunfan says:

yeah texans are my second team since i also live in texas and i hate the cowboys lol

  14. baylinorcrush says:

In the past it has been in reverse of us though, we horrible front7, them great front7, us good secondary, them awful secondary, but yeah end result the same.

  15. baylinorcrush says:

Yeah, McClain was one player many Bronco fans wanted badly in the 2010 draft.

  16. zhaoyunfan says:

lol yup though i think they will be better with phillips as dc he is really much better as a coordinator

  17. imready says:

Shefter wouldn’t say it if he didn’t believe it, his job depends on his accuracy. He can’t afford to play favorites. Lombari reported here too and look what that jackass says. With our man Willis we have power in the backfield. If we can stop the run,and I think we can, our DE’s will make opposing QB’s regret they play the game. Contrary to some of you negative nellies, I think we have something positive to look forward to this season. The AFC west will be more competitive his year with us in the mix to win the division. I’m betting it will be decided in the last 3 weeks. Go Broncos!

  18. stevecan2 says:

just read that article on the DP about a three year plan.

It may just be another writer looking to stir the pot, but the fact of them recruiting QB’s is still there. So, here is how I see this so called three year plan.

You play the Tebow dog and pony show, never selling out and giving him a true chance to mold into a QB1. Tell him, “sorry kid, it’s not you, it’s us.” The whole while playing a QB that looks at the NFL as a day job (#8). Hoping you don’t need to bring in the guy who folds under pressure like a Murphy bed(#9). Build the run game to a respectable level, have an awesome defense that scares the beegeebus out of the opposing offense.

Oh, that three year plan worked so well for Jacksonville.

  19. zhaoyunfan says:

whatever do you mean stevecan2, the jaguars are winning the superbowl with mccown lmao they were who we thought they were, playoffs want to talk about playoffs, talking about practice yo practice :P

  20. Orange you glad says:

Good to have you here in the Mile City looking forward to seeing you in the end zone a lot this season and especially on Monday night.

  21. stevecan2 says:

    back to current..

I am stoked to have McGahee in the backfield, that added 4 points in the red zone and third and shorts being converted on the ground, astronomical. Our fast, aggressive D will need the time on the side line to recoop.

  22. zhaoyunfan says:

Mcgahee bring back the salute :D

  23. stevecan2 says:

my 1145 am post was about a three year plan, absent a franchise QB and the great lengths EFX are going to to find one.

  24. baylinorcrush says:

That’s real cool McGahee is doing a blog, they havent done that since Doom had one, and I wonder who is the other player who will do one.

  25. stevecan2 says:

another great thing about McGahee in the backfield. FINALLY, KM will have the second back he needs to step up his game and prove in year 3, he deserves to be here and even though many won’t change their minds about his 1st round, status (interesting enough, top rated RB in that draft, but as I was saying) it is all about the tandem of McGoreno @copyright stevecan2….. I lay on the cheese thicker than a cheese grader. :)

  26. baylinorcrush says:

Sorry, McGoreno sounds like a veneral disease, not cool, drop it please, LOL.

  27. strandoftds says:

    LMAO

  28. 3rdGeneration says:

Glad to have you Big Willy Style. I love the red zone threat you bring biome guys have a nose for the end zone, and you’re one of them. Thank you for doing the blog. We really do appreciate it.

  29. 3rdGeneration says:

    *some guys…..damn phone.

  30. strandoftds says:

Bay, before we know it, it`ll be kickoff time @ Mile High. It`s about time huh? I`m looking forward to the season even though we`re in this rebuilding phase. The only way is up! I am so ready!

  31. stevecan2 says:

does everything sound like a VD on these blogs?…. simplistic, yes. it honestly sounds more like a pasta dish to me. But sure VD…hmmm a power back that blasts through holes leaving nothing but pain and bad memories in the wake. Sure, i will go with a VD sounding name on this one… hahahaha

  32. stevecan2 says:

List of the most common and well know VD’s. I am trying to see where McGoreno fits any of these.

    Chancroid (Haemophilus ducreyi)
    Chlamydia (Chlamydia trachomatis)
    Granuloma inguinale or (Klebsiella granulomatis)
    Gonorrhea (Neisseria gonorrhoeae)
    Syphilis (Treponema pallidum)
Viral hepatitis (Hepatitis B virus)—saliva, venereal fluids.
(Note: Hepatitis A and Hepatitis E are transmitted via the fecal-oral route; Hepatitis C is rarely sexually transmittable,[2] and the route of transmission of Hepatitis D (only if infected with B) is uncertain, but may include sexual transmission.[3][4][5])
Herpes simplex (Herpes simplex virus 1, 2) skin and mucosal, transmissible with or without visible blisters
HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus)— venereal fluids, semen, breast milk, blood
HPV (Human Papillomavirus)— skin and mucosal contact. ‘High risk’ types of HPV cause almost all cervical cancers, as well as some anal, penile, and vulvar cancer. Some other types of HPV cause genital warts.
Molluscum contagiosum (molluscum contagiosum virus MCV)—close contact.

    Chlamydia (30-50%)[11]
    Crabs
    Scabies
    Gonorrhea (20%)[12]
    Hepatitis B
    Herpes
    HIV (0.05%)[7]
    HPV (at least 5%)[10]
    Non-gonococcal urethritis
    Syphilis
    Trichomoniasis

  33. baylinorcrush says:

If you can’t tell, you can’t be helped, haha.

  34. baylinorcrush says:

However, weird way to welcome McGahee on his blog wouldn’t you say?

  35. BeastFromEast92 says:

Hey McGahee, punish them Faders, run over their sorry butts.
    btw,welcome to Broncos Country!

  36. strandoftds says:

McGahee is going to be a strong force for the Broncos this year. I hope he stays healthy all year.

  37. stevecan2 says:

sure, if everything you didn’t approve of sound like a VD to some individuals on these blogs. it wouldn’t have went past an easily forgotten nickname for our running attack.

i dont give a mind to not liking the name, but honestly, the VD reference almost every time. yes that is odd.

  38. baylinorcrush says:

strand, it is hard to believe opening Sunday is upon us when all these past few months I had little hope to see a full season, so great time indeed, I also get a free Sunday NFL package this week from DirecTV to try to lure me into buying it, so I’ll be able to watch the Chiefs and the Bolts so I can study our division opponents. Busy two days ahead.

  39. baylinorcrush says:

Never ever mentioned VD anything here, but whatever rocks your boat…

  40. strandoftds says:

Way cool. This is when the fun begins.

  41. strandoftds says:

If we end up with a losing season this year such as an 5-11 or 6- 10 season it`s not going to hurt my feelings or even shock me. I know the truth to the matter (situation). It`s still going to be exciting to see how this year unfolds. Next year should be a differnt story, herhaps a wild card maybe. But this year is in the now. Whatever the story of the Denver Broncos for 2011, SO BE IT!!

  42. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Welcome McGahee. I appreciate what you will be bringing to the backfield in your 1 2 punch with Moreno. No disrespect but please leave some TDs for Moreno, I have him on my fantasy team lol. I was gonna get you too but someone snag you but I have u in my other leagues. Anyway, welcome to the mile high city. I hope you have a great game and more importantly I hope we win.

I am also curious who the other blogger will be … Von Miller perhaps?

    TRB

  43. 1nOnlyTRB says:

If they really wanna capitalize on Tebows fame they would make him a blogger. He is in a back up role anyway so it shouldnt distract too much. TRB

  44. stevecan2 says:

-Sorry, McGoreno sounds like a veneral disease, not cool, drop it please, LOL.-

I tired to back track and not single you out for the entirety of who responds with it on a regular basis, since i don’t believe you do on a consistent basis, even though it does appear often when someone proposes a nickname on these boards. You do however read / posts a lot of other peoples posts / articles and they somehow are attributed to your original thought and so making it fit your MO.

Sure, on to bigger and better things.

  45. zhaoyunfan says:

sounds more like the macarena mexican song than vd lol

  46. stevecan2 says:

What are you most looking forward to about the season opener on Monday Night Football?

  47. strandoftds says:

Well the only diseases I`m familiar with is with the eyes. I was in the optical industry for over 20 years. My hats off to all of the Opthamologsts. NO MORE VD suggestions please.

  48. baylinorcrush says:

  50. sndvl says:

McGahee, welcome to Denver. Look forward to watching you play for the good side. I have a good friend who is a huge Baltimore fan and he was not happy you left. I rub it in every time i talk to him!
Glad you hate the Raiders already too. That is the mentality this team needs. And I know you werent around last year for that humiliating defeat in October, but can you be so kind and run over as many of them as you can…so we can avenge that loss?! Thanks!!!! Enjoy your stay

GO BRONCOS in 2011, Return of the Mile High Magic!!!!!!!!!!!
