Actually, the closest thing to an estimate on Walker’s return was “a few weeks,” which was pronounced the day before the surgery. So right now, we’re at three and a half weeks from the surgery … certainly, if the timetable is a little more vague, i.e. “a few,” which can mean any number of things, as opposed to “5-to-7″ or “6-to-8,” gave Walker some flexibility and reduced the pressure on him to force his way back before the knee would allow it. Prior to this week, the last update we’d heard was from Shanahan, saying last week that Walker would soon begin running, which is now the case. The interesting thing this week is that he has not been declared “out” on the first injury report of the week which was issued Wednesday; it just says “did not participate.”
