The #2 receiver was merely meant to placate Stokely. Stokely is still our “possession/ slot” receiver but I think Marshall will get considerable reps as the #2 receiver in 2-receiver sets. Hopefully Shanny uses our speed and talent at qb and receiver to take some shots deep. Most of our offseason focus seemed to be on getting guys that can put points on the board, so I imagine that Shannahan will be a little more aggressive with his play calling.

i really hope they put brandon marshall in the #1 spot where he belongs. even though i believe stokely is a very talented guy. i still think that Marshall should be there. He has speed lots of power and can get you those big plays when you need them,. or if you dont.

Andrew i dont understand! everything i have heard has said that marshal will be the number 2 reciever, which i believe will be regardless what they show, and also today on espnews they said that selvin young would be backing up henry and hall would be behind him with sapp and bell working in and out at the fullback position. what do u think will happen?

Brandon Marshall is big, young, and extremely talented and he’s not starting? I am shocked but i dont expect this mental lapse to last long. Mike Shanahan will soon find out stokley is not ment to be a starter and should be placed in the slot (even though i rather have brian clark there). I expect big things from Marshall and i cant wait to see him physically dominate the opposing corners.

Ben Hamilton is hurt too…or has he cleared? If his concussion is still holding him out, that leaves three positions with no second teamer on the O-Line. That means there’s the practice squad team of Fenton, Eslinger and Washburn. I can see Eslinger playing ’cause he is durable and he never makes any mistakes/penalties. Maybe he can play guard.
Last year, there were 9 healthy OL players on the 53-man roster. This year there are six. Is this an expression of confidence?
What is the status of Hamilton?

I think they should use Sapp at FB, and Young as the change-of-pace back behind Henry… Lots of talent in the backfield though.
