[...] Andrew Mason reports that rookie defensive end Tim Crowder and third year cornerback Karl Paymah both returned to the practice field on Thursday. Crowder has been out for several weeks with an ankle injury, and Paymah has been sidelined since his concussion in the final preseason match against the Cardinals. His report is also the first news of ankle injury for safety John Lynch I’ve seen, but he mentions that Lynch practices without a hitch as well.
We all love Rod and he among a chosen few, is a great influence to the team! He has helped out rookies and new comers on the field and in uniform... He can give the same advice to the new comers in street clothes and off the field. Maybe he should be a Bronco coach? You want to spill Ben Hamilton's injury? No one seems to know his prognosis or have I not paid attention? Answer some questions here Andrew!! Let's not get ahead of our selves about the raiders! ONE GAME AT A TIME!!!! Prayers wouldn't hurt. Did you hear Shanahan say he believed in the power of prayer? So do I!!!! Everyone should!Speaking of prayer, Kevin will be ok! A long haul in the hsp and therapy, but he will pull through! "God said"!

I'm thrilled for Rod, and I imagine that this gesture means a lot to him. ColoradoBOY, I don't think Sam Adams is hurt, the coaches just seem to take it easy on him when it comes to practice because he's so fat and he's getting old, and he's such a veteran that missing a practice a week isn't really going to hurt him. And if Lynch is fully participating in practice, I imagine he's healthy enough to play, too. If he was hurt badly at all, you know the coaches would give him the day off... It's not like John Lynch needs the practice.

Hearing about Rod Smith being made captain is yet another sterling example of why the Broncos organization is the best in the league. I remember back during the 2001 season, when the Broncos had something like 22 starters on IR, Rod Smith was listed in the game against Seattle as the starting WR, starting RB, the #2 QB, and the #1 KO returner. He did this while playing on two sprained ankles that would have had most guys on IR for three or four weeks. All of this and he still managed to end the season as the league leader in receiving yards and catches. Not bad for an undrafted free agent. I don't want to sound premature but if he isn't a first ballot candidate for the Hall of Fame then I don't know who is!(take notes from this guy ocho sinco!). This is just one of many things coming together for the Broncos that I believe will culminate in a fantastic season! Dominate against the Raiders!

That makes a gut feel good to hear my boy is still a captain, in all our hearts we all thought he never stopped being one either. So what is going on with Lynch and Adams? How bad are those injuries?

Rod deserves it more than anyone right now... by him being on the PUP list he's getting the chance to be a leader on the sidelines which in a way is a good thing although I'd rather have him on the field. I couldn't be more happier for the 5 captains we have... can't imagine anyone else in those places.

Last but not least... I just want to say I can't wait till we CREAM those Raiders so bad... they don't have much going for them right now, they have too many things to work out which I'm hoping will lead to their game being WAY off... Go get 'em Broncos!!!! Grrrr...

It was good to see Rod sticking his head in there doing some coaching on the sideline in Buffalo... even if the man spends the whole year in street clothes, which I hope isn't the case, cause I do believe he can still help this team, but even if he does, he makes the Broncos a better team just being there on the sideline talkin his boys up.

I cannot say how happy I am about Rod Smith. The other captains reminded us why #80 is not only one of the top 5 Broncos all time (I said it), but why he is, imho, the best role model in pro football for those young players who are just discovering the game. With all the garbage we hear about pro athletes, all you ever hear about Rod (when you hear anything) is what a hard worker and great teammate he is., and it's obvious watching him for two minutes that he treats the game with respect. Class move by the other captains.......

Although I don't think a player should hide his injuries from the team -
because there are others behind him who also worked hard to get there;
I think Rod Smith is a great choice for captain. It's not always about
stats (and, except for Super Bowls, Rod has better stats than Michael
Irvin). It is often about ability to get along with people, stay positive,
be a friend, help the team; especially during the "downs". Rod has been
absolutely spectacular in this area - he has always handled dissapointments
with optimism; and handled on oft negative media with positivity.

Andrew,
Hope you are well. Since this new web site format has been used, most of the videos I watch stop about halfway through and I can't watch the remainder of the video. Very frustrating. Can anything be done to fix this? Thanks. See you in a few weeks.
