Yeah, I have a huge respect for Hixon. I was actually SHOCKED when I read your report that he was on the field Wednesday.

Brandon Marshall on the other hand, really needs to beat the injury problems, or he's going to be left behind in the battle for #2 WR.

P.S. I LOVE the way Stokley is playing -- I think Shanny will be credited for a pretty great off-season steal when we get into this season with Stokley out there! :)

denverobsession:

Perhaps there is a message being sent, but don't mistake this -- to come back from even a slight shoulder separation for the next day of practice is impressive. Hixon is also a guy who was out on the field for every training camp practice last year, even when he was injured, taking "mental reps" and studying the goings-on. He's diligent, tough and certainly praise-worthy here.

matt203:

I think it's too early to tell who's going to have the SLB job. The first indication we'll receive will come when the first "official" depth chart comes out next week -- assuming it arrives at the same time this year it has in years past, which is in the week leading up to the preseason opener. That being said, Webster made a heck of impression on fans and those of us standing with notepads and cameras with his hits, particularly the one that floored Mike Bell.

Nate Webster so far has seems to have done pretty good at strong side linebacker. Do you think he will keep playing good at earn the job?

I've heard that Shanahan said some things in his press conference that could have been taken as a challenge to Marshall to get back out on the field. With Hixon battling through his injury, I can see why it's frustrating not having Marshall out there.

Was that you're feeling, or is this more internet rumor?

Thanks, Andrew!

I think Mike Bell will end up being a big part of our offense again this year. Shannahan loves to use him near the goal line. I think he has taken less reps since Cecil and Henry are new to our system or the position. Bell only has one job, pound the ball or dive over the defense. There isn't much use playing him on second team since he is more of a situational runner. Go Mike...all of us here in Arizona love ya!!!!
