Alright, we’ll start with the game I guess. It was disappointing. I think most of the people surrounding the team and most of the fans were very disappointed in the game in Indy. There’s a lot of things that we need to work on and improve upon. While we are disappointed, we are not discouraged for the rest of the season. We’re only a quarter of the way through the regular season and we’re 2-2, so we’re pretty optimistic about the rest of the season to come and hopefully the fans can get behind us. I appreciate all the fans who left supportive responses about team and myself, and the fans who aren’t so supportive, it’s OK, I understand, I guess. But we will be getting on track real soon.
I think we have a lot of talent, a lot of good players, a lot of proven players and a lot of proven coaches. Combine that with the amount of effort that we give on the field and the accountability that each player has on the team, and I think we are a recipe for a very successful team. I think accountability is one of the things that’s most important. There’s been a lot of mistakes made so far in the season, but one of the good things about it is there’s not any finger-pointing, which is something that goes on in teams that aren’t successful and teams that eventually implode. But people here are taking responsibility for their mistakes and improving upon them. If everyone improves and tries to correct their own mistakes, it helps us all as a team to play better and eliminate our mistakes.
I’d say one of the things right now we’re really lacking and we’re working on is just experience with each other. We have a lot of league experience, but this is the first time for a lot of us working together, and that type of experience and continuity is very valuable. I’d say comparing us to some of the teams who are really successful right now in the NFL, that’s the major difference. A lot of their players have been able to stay together for a long time and build a level of continuity, understanding and trust out there on the field. While we trust each other and we’ve been working together, we’ve had a lot of changes. We have a new defensive coordinator who has been extremely successful in the league throughout the years. We have pretty much an all-new linebacking corps, even with D.J. Williams switching positions. Our D-line is almost entirely new, full of rookies and free-agent signings, and we’ve added a brand-new corner in Dre’ Bly. We’ve added a ton of talent, but just the continuity in working together is something we need to improve upon and just be able to trust that each other is going to be where we need to be on particular plays.
So like I said, we fully expected to win the game against the Colts, but we didn’t. We’re looking forward to another opportunity to play this weekend against the San Diego Chargers. It should be a really intense game because it appears they are also a very talented team that’s not living up to their own expectations right now. I’m sure they’re going to come out playing as hard as they possibly can, just as we are, to try to get that win.
Despite our rocky start, we’re still in a great situation. We’re tied for the lead in our division going into a division game against the very talented, defending AFC West champion San Diego Chargers. While we’re disappointed in a lot of things and working on improving a lot of things, we still have ourselves in a great position to make a push when all our pieces start to operate a lot better and work well together. We’re all excited about entering the second quarter of the season and growing as a team and starting to play better and better together.
Last week I was filling in for John Lynch, as everybody may or may not know. I’m kind of a utility guy in our secondary. If anyone goes down, I go in at all positions — safety, corner, whatever. So last week I filled in for John at free safety. I have two sets of pads that I take to every game, and so last week I had to take my safety pads, which are a little bigger, because the first time last season I had to fill in at safety was against the Seahawks, and hitting Shaun Alexander with the small, flimsy corner pads, I paid for that for weeks to come. My shoulders were numb and I got stingers, it was painful. Nick Ferguson came up and told me I needed to change to his pads, so he got me a pair of the pads that he uses, and since then I carry both pads to every game. In the preseason, sometimes I had to go from corner one series to safety the next, and our fabulous equipment staff was able to take care of that and switch pads in between series. Fortunately last game I was just at one position, safety, and put on the big pads and had to bang heads several times with Joseph Addai who is a big, tough runner. There’s always pain in a football game, but fortunately it wasn’t as bad, thanks to Nick Ferguson’s shoulder pads.
Against the urging of the Blog Master, I decided to liven up the blog a little last week and talk politics. I’m glad a lot of people responded. It was fun, so I’ll just respond to those comments and we’ll stay off of politics. I found a new subject to throw in and liven it up in weeks to come. I think we’ll talk about how great the Rockies are. I can add that in instead of politics from here on out.
But just to address some of the things that people said. I remember a few people relating Ahmadinejad to Hitler and said that was the reason why he shouldn’t be allowed in the country and we shouldn’t have listened to him speak and we shouldn’t have asked him questions and shouldn’t have had him anywhere near the United States, just because of the things he’s been accused of and he’s responsible for and the hate that he has, all those things. People have related him to Hitler and said that we never had those type of conversations or introductions to the country with Hitler, and I think that’s all the more reason why we should have him here and talk to people like that. Ignoring and isolating someone with that much hate and that much power is definitely not a good idea, as we learned from Hitler. We isolated him and ignored him until we couldn’t anymore and ended up in a World War. I think communication is definitely a step in the direction of avoiding that. I think a lot of times in politics and life in general, people should try to look at other ways to defuse issues other than ignoring and destroying, which seems to be the way that a lot of countries try to approach issues — just act like it doesn’t exist until it gets big enough that you can’t ignore it, and then you go to war and a lot of people die. There are definitely other ways to go about it, and I think having an open dialogue, even though that guy is responsible for a lot of horrible things, allows us to get into his head and at least gives us the opportunity to understand where he’s coming from and have a communication and try to avoid things like that.
Also, I made the point that an oppressed group has never been freed from its oppression without the groundswell support coming from that oppressed group itself. I think someone replied with the Civil War as an example and the slaves being freed. That’s something that I really disagree with. I’m not sure exactly, but I’m pretty sure most historians would agree that the Civil War was more about economic differences more than it was about moral differences between the North and the South. Even in the North where most of the laws were created, African Americans were considered less than the value of an entire man. So I find it hard to believe that the President at the time, Abraham Lincoln, was willing to sacrifice thousands of American troops in order to free people that they believed were not full people. As support to my opinion that an oppressed group is never really freed until the drive for freedom comes from the people, the Civil War ended in 1865, which was followed by the Emancipation Proclamation, which technically freed the slaves. But it took about 100 years for the Civil Rights movement to start, which was definitely a push by the people who were being oppressed. That’s when, I believe, African Americans truly began to get some freedoms, and while this world isn’t perfect and never will be, the Civil Rights movement was the very first time where things started to change and Black Americans began to at least legally have the same rights as individuals. I don’t know, but to think of the Civil War as a moral war just doesn’t make sense to me, because even after the Civil War it still took 100-plus years for laws to even be aligned so that Blacks were treated the same. So I guess I think of the Civil Rights movement more as that drive than I do the Civil War. For those who are bored by my politics and opinions on things like that, I apologize. We’re definitely going to move away from that in the future weeks.
Now to the Rockies. As I said last week, I try to follow all Colorado sports, and I think everybody in Denver and all of Colorado is really excited about what the Rockies have been able to do. From the Broncos, we’d like to wish them good luck. I hope everybody is following them and supporting them as well as you guys support us.
Also, there were some big wins in college football this past weekend. The University of Colorado had a huge win over No. 4 Oklahoma. My Maryland Terrapins knocked off No. 10 Rutgers. It was a really exciting weekend in Colorado sports.
As always, I’ve been having busy weeks in-season. Monday we had to come in and run and lift and watch film to correct our mistakes from the week prior. From there I went downtown to the Sports Column to do the live radio show, which was great because of the atmosphere surrounding the baseball game. There was a lot of enthusiasm and it was a lot of fun to be down there. I fielded some calls and tried to answer questions from some disappointed Broncos fans as diplomatically as I could, which was interesting and fun and exciting. I definitely appreciate all the support and just the wide fan base that we have. From there I drove down to John Lynch’s show, where CollegeInColorado.org was kind enough to bring about 15 or 20 kids from the Boys and Girls Club down to Old Chicago where John films his show. So I drove down there and met them and Elvis Dumervil was the guest. So I just laid back and hung out with the kids and had a good time. I signed a few autographs and the kids really enjoyed themselves. Elvis, like I’ve been saying just about every week, has been playing amazing and we’re fortunate to have that type of player on our defensive line. I look forward to John recovering and getting back on the field. He’s definitely an important part of this defense.
Anyway, tonight I’m going to the Boys and Girls Club for the writing group that we have every Tuesday. I don’t know if everyone’s heard, but we’ve raised enough money to build the Darrent Williams Teen Center. Now we just need to navigate through all the red tape and bureaucracy that comes with using city funds, because the city granted us a generous amount. So we have reached our goal. Our next goal I think is to build a gym, but we need to get the Teen Center up first. So we’re very proud of that and the kids at the Boys and Girls Club are very excited about building the Teen Center. I can’t wait till we actually break ground on that.
As for my fellow bloggers, Keela was actually the guest cheerleader at John Lynch’s show. As always, go check her blog out and tell her how well she did. I really didn’t get to watch the show because I was with the kids, but I’m hoping she did well. If she stuttered or something, feel free to tell her to stop stuttering.
And Andrew Mason, our favorite guy with the funny picture, managed to miss the team charter to Indy, which is awfully hilarious. I don’t know what he was doing, I guess maybe he was writing another one of his 12 blogs per week and ended up being late. Now this coming week he’s going to give you all this information on the Broncos, so please request that he explains why he was late. So then Andrew had to purchase his own ticket to Indy, and he managed, somehow, to make the charter back. Thanks for gracing us with your presence, Andrew. You’re too cool to fly with the team.
I had a fan come up to me on Monday randomly and ask me how I found time to do everything that I do with the community and be as busy as I am. I don’t have a wife and kids and all those wonderful things that everyone has to occupy their time, so that’s what I fill that time with now. It’s pretty cool, slightly exciting, that people want to know what I’m doing. So I guess that the hundreds of kids at the Boys and Girls Club have kind of become my kids. I definitely love all of them and am interested in them being successful, so we’ll end the blog on a positive note. We’re all looking forward to the game this week, I hope everyone else is also, and I hope Broncos Country and the 12th man show up strong for the game. Thanks everybody for the support. All Ready.

Fox,
As a true Broncos fan, I am behind you guys 100% and still have a lot of faith in you all. Keep up the hard work and keep your head up. We believe baby!!!
James in San Diego
How can I apply for Mason’s job? Sounds like he is slacking.
I have adopted the Rockies as my second favorite baseball team for the playoffs and hope they win the World Series. I am a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan, but they missed the playoffs. Jamey Carrol, my favorite player on the team, grew up where I live in Evansville, Indiana. I recieved hitting lessons from him and his brother when I used to play baseball. Good luck against San Diego.
GO BRONCOS!
Hey Fox,
Its me Probably your least favorate blog responder right now. I thought I would come back by saying (weather you meant to or not) you did a wonderful job of responding to my questions. I can completely understand the trouble of meshing wth your football team to remin productive. I remeber playing in highschool as a Q and well the year before I played great we won every game by at least 20 points, but then I moved towns. Being the new kid the offense of the new school always had somthing against me and well I stoped playing. So I would like to say I am sorry if well my last response seemed harsh… Now fans that are fortunite enough to go to the game well be loud and lets break LT’s concentration. You know they are going to do what the Jags did: Run up and down the field…. GET_R_DONE
Fox,
A lot of good nuggets in this post. Thanks for everything you do on and off the field!

Foxy,
Been following you for quite some time now and I am more impressed with you and the way you handle yourself off the field than any player I can remember. You are smart, well spoken, and have a great view on the world around you… not just football. Keep it up! Your a good dude, if you would ever like to check out some of the local music scene here in Denver hit me up… thats where my passion is and there are alot of great bands and musicians around here. Gotannergo@yahoo.com
Cheers!

hey u guys r
fox…
thanks as always. your insight, as well as your willingness to share it brings a sense of community with the team which we all appreciate. and in terms of any naysayers, the truth is that they are attempting to make conclusions about professional football, which is something they have NO idea about other than sports center and sunday games. sometimes the negativity is astounding! but i don’t want to bemoan that any longer… i am a broncos fan, and will be regardless of how the seasons go… i will hope for the best, and accept what comes along. perhaps one of the best parts of enjoying sports as a fan is the ability to ride the tides of change and transition… and hopes for success with a group of people you admire. it’s called LOYALTY…
thanks again
i’ll be cheering for you…
kevin
Great blog Foxy, your point about communication in international relations is well taken. I choose to disagree with the revisionist view of Lincoln (if he had not been assassiniated I think things would have worked out differently in the Post-Civil War South) but your point about the Civil Rights Movement is also well taken.
Thanks for the shout-out to the Colorado Rockies!!! That game last night was incredible, wow, what a moment! Unbelievable! And there’s those Bolts coming to town, I’m sure the Broncos will do to them what the Rox did to the visiting Padres. Go Broncos!!!
HEY i kant believe u guys lost i am very dissapionted in the team. the 07 broncos r a great team….. Honestly i think you guys r slackin i am the number 1 broncos fan sooo wen yous lose i lose im only sixteen but i know alot about the game i think the offense is great the, secondary is good but stoping the run you guys suck i am with yous 100% but i got 2 let u know the truth cuzz i am a troubled teen if thats wat u want 2 call it and i am 4 sure that wen its football season i am not goin 2 get in trouble on sunday cuz im locked up in my house on sundays watchin u guys sooo if you guys kan do me a favor and go all the way k u guys got the talent now jus put it 2 use yous r #1….. o ya congrats 2 da rockies go all da way boys you kan do it…….. GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! N ROCKIES!!!!!!
Hey Fox
Yeah we need to stop da run but this is getting rediculous. For the past 5/6 years we have played da Colts every year, with different personnel and different def coordinators and what do we do on Sunday? play Peyton the exact same way we always do! Shanahan needs his arse whooped! Do we not have film sessions? The teams that are succesful against da Colts do the same things, play physical with the receivers to disrupt their timing. Manning is a timing qb, period point blank. He can be rattled and if you get him to have to scramble and make plays, he is in the bottom 5 of qbs. You give him say, all day like we do by playing off his finnesse receivers so they can run their routes like they do in practice, then he is one of the best. Our coaching staff is either stupid, dumb, inept, unprepared or all the above. Watch Peyton in his bad games, its not necessarily about getting pressure, its about disrupting their timing and this Sh%t is getting real old. I thought that by bringing Dre Bly in thats the style of play we would have. If thats the case we shoulda spent that $$ on linebackers and let foxworth play 7/8 yards off the receivers. We shoulda got the Tank, but no we go and get Simeon Rice? Whoever is making these boneheaded decisions needs to be fired, and if we have such great corners, putem both on an island and walk the safeties up!!!
P.S. Get Ricky Williams, yeah i know we have Henry but he is injury prone and if we had two power backs we would wear teams down!!!
Fox,
Hang in there…you guys obviously were playing a pretty polished product in Peyton and the Colts, a tough test for a team with a lot of new parts as you pointed out. Be rest assured that there a lot of fans out there that are totally behind the team–we just don’t get the airtime that the more negative voices do. In my opinion, the true test of this team will be not how it fares in September, but instead how it finishes in December and January. The team just needs to find a way to put some wins together so you can be in position to do some great things come playoff time–I have no doubt that you will.
Congratulations on raising the necessary money for the Darrent Williams Teen Center, I’m sure it will make a very positive difference in that community. A lot of the credit goes to you, so great job.
Good luck against the Chargers!!! This Bronco team is on the cusp of great things–it’s just a matter of when, not if.
Foxy, great blog. I echo your thoughts on foriegn policy. Not enough athletes talk about real issues. Football is great, but how come not one player I have seen has started out by thanking the troops in Iraq for laying thier lives on the line for thier country?
I know you will continue to use your influence in a positive way, it’s a given just like tommorow the earth will turn and the sun will rise. You rule Foxy and I am so pround to count you as a Bronco. Come October 08 I hope you use your freedom of speech to help register more voters, especially in African American voting districts where your influence could really make a difference!
Hey Domonique, the true fans stand by the Broncos regardless of how many game are won or lost. I am one fan that sticks by the Broncos regardless. Hang in there, you guys will all get in rythem and play better. There is still plenty of football season left. Each game you guys get better.
The Colts was a very tough test. Even though you guys didn’t win, you kept the game close. The good teams win or lose keep games close.
Besides, the end of the season is what matters. Once you guys get used to palying together, everything will fall into place. Don’t listen to the media because I think more fans support the Broncos and stand by them regardless. Not to mention, you are 2-2 not 0-2 so I think the Broncos are playing very well. Everything you guys need to work on will happen when it matters.
Good luck on Sunday. I really hope the Broncos pull a win over the Chargers.
This Broncos team is a great team. Go Broncos!!!
i am sorry that you guys lost…but now its a new week and a new team and hopefully a WIN!!!!!!!!! i believe in you guys 100% and i am super excited for the game! thats AWESOME that you guys have enough money to build the Teen Center! well have fun this week!
-PARIS (#1 BRONCO fan!!!!!)
hey fox, good blog this week, i couldnt read it fully because we had some guys over to play some halo in the middle of it, but i just finished it up. good luck this weekend and im sure you guys will get back on track. just listening to the interviews it seems like even though we lost 2 in a row, and only won by a few in the other games, our team is streaming with confidence, great job playing saftey, and im sure next week, whereever you play it’ll be good…good luck this week..
-shill-
Hey dom,
great blog, as usual. One thing i got to say to any nay sayers out there about our coaching staff. I really apreciate what they do for this team and to get angry at the staff for stuff like the game agaist the colts is retarded. Denvers organization is one of the best in the league, they have gotten us to the playoffs alot over the years and to queston coach shannahan right now is retarded you need support our team now more than ever so if your anyone on this blog has issues with our front office or team or coach shanahan just remeber why your repling his blog and not coaching a team in the NFL. Our staff does its best to get the players in the best positions to make a play we just got out ran by the colts you have to remeber they went to the superbowl and we are getting into our groove right now but still held out own agaist them.
P.S. ask coach if you can wear throwback uniforms this week to show some bronco pride (just a thought)
go and get us a win!!!!!!!!!!!
All ready
Domonique I luv you a lot ,but bro your blog is way to long we don’t need a novel.
Now to the game i think you guys played okay however i would like to see you guys get physical agianst the colts. With ever happen to the old school bump and run man to man deff. That’s with new england doe’s to stop( ty law) those wr. I feel you guys have the speed to keep up with there wr and it would disrupts there timing. Any keep up the good work and thanks for taking the time to read my reply.
P.S I do like Mason blog a lot better i just can’t handle your war and peace blog
Fox,
Please please relay this message to coach Bates, RUSH THE
PASSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thnx as always for the blog Foxworth,
After the emancipation proclaimation, African Americans did have freedoms such as voting rights. But they were saddled with an expensive poll tax so the vast majority of African Americans (and poor people and immigrants) couldn’t vote. And the Jim Crow laws came around, so people ignoring the constitution is not a new thing. America’s had some really stupid laws…Chinese Exclusion Act? It bugs me how hypocritical the country is sometimes.
Anyway. The Indy game was dissappointing. Still, it dissapoints me that people are already saying the team is done. I’m sure you guys will rally and be better. I hope the crowd is louder this weekend, I thoght the noise level when JAX came was pathetic. I guarantee 537 will be the loudest section in the stadium this year.
Regardless of your record right now…ya’ll still rock!
Domonique,
You’ve expressed my sentiments exactly. The Broncos are far from dead right now, and although the loss to Indianapolis was disappointing, there’s still a lot of football left to be played. Take care of business against the ‘Bolts and all of a sudden, you head into the bye at 3-2. Additonally, home games against the Steelers and Packers follow thereafter, so all is not lost. Reading your blog every week is always a pleasure. Please, quit with the political commentary however. Let’s just talk football, something we all agree on. Other sports are acceptable as well.
it’s so hard to watch these struggles that we as the broncos are facing right now, but i keep telling everyone to wait. Things are gonna get real nasty soon!! Moss was starting to do some good things this weekend and so was the rest of my boys i just hope we can go into next week and be consistent with our abilities to make plays. Tell Hixon to keep his head up!
KILL THOSE FOOLS IN SAN DIEGO!!!!. STOP THE RUN.
What’s up Fox? It was good to see you back on the field last week. Keep it up.
You make some good points about the Civil War. The only reason Lincoln went to war is because he felt the states that seceded were property of the Union and that it was their right to take back what they own. He never intended to end slavery in the south, he simply wanted to prevent its expansion into the newer territories. There were people who fought for equal rights in the aftermath of the Civil War. However this group was vastly outnumbered and the issue would fall to the back burner after a series of presidential scandals by Ulysses S. Grant. The so-called Reconstruction movement ended with the election of Hayes, I believe (sorry for boring everyone with a history lesson).
Anyways, some people find it way too easy to criticize. Most of us have no idea what you guys go through week to week and we really do appreciate all of your insight. I have no doubt that you guys are working as hard as you can to improve what needs to be fixed.
Good luck this weekend.
i know the loss in indy sucked but there is still hope fore the season. not a bad game when you look at some of the key injuries. how hard is switching from corner to free saftey…i know there has to be a big change in the physical aspect but what about mentally?
on the polotics thing i can’t speak for others but i think you did a pretty good job of not stepping on any toes. bottom line is this is Ameica, supposed to be the greatest country in the world, i think if a foriegn leader of any country is willing to step foot on our soil and speak in an open forum enviroment we should let him. who knows…they might have a few things to say that, in the worst case senerio, would make them sound stupid…best case senerio, we might learn a thing or two. its just good to hear someone with a celebrity status not sounding like they think their opinion is the only one and its the right one. great job with the blog man. and make sure you and the whole organization have alot of love coming from the east coast.
and to my boy elvis grindin’ it out in the trenches every week do you thing man, just make sure that the first chance you get to lay the wood to LT you let him know why hes layin on the ground…he just got hit in the mouth.

Nice Blog Fox…i think if a Broncos fan is a TRUE broncos fan, they will support and be behind you all 110%!! I love the broncos and love the city of Denver! I was born in Colorado, and am a Denver fanatic, so i know how huge football is there! we all know there is a huge amout of talent on this team and its just time before it breaks out! Especially on the re-built D-Line, with Elvis, Jarvis and Marcus making huge impacts, and we all know the ability of Rice! And we dont even need to discuss our secondary, best in the league in my opinion! It’ll all come around, just keep ihit’n them in the chops! I know and hope this week is a WIN! Good luck this weekend!

I wouldn’t be too critical of people ignoring Hitler until he invaded Poland – WW1 (the most devasting War known to man before WW2) was still fresh in the minds of many families who had lost many relatives, and you cant blame them for wanting to do everything necessary to avoid another World War. I think that situation is sort of similiar to Iraq. I have many friends in the British Armed Forces and appreciate everything they do for us, but end of the day, so far operations in Iraq and Afghanistan (for the most part) have been a failure, and the public is reluctant to send our boys to another Middle Eastern country, facing another costly campaign.
As for football, we need to see a better effort in the run defense to beat the Chargers, lets make Phillip Rivers beat us rather than letting LT stomp on us (again). Gl Foxy, my fellow Oxford born Englishman
Foxy,
Good luck this week against San Diego. You guys will get it all together excellence takes time. Hang tough! You need to think about expanding your writing group so more kids could benefit. I know that the students I teach would much rather listen to a Pro Football Player than a school teacher. Think about it. Now days the sky is the limit with all the technology.
thanks
What’s up Fox !?!?!
I bugged out on cbssportsline.com I got into a heated argument with another Bronco fan all over you lol. He tried blaming you so I flipped out on him he didn’t understand that we couldn’t stop the run and couldn’t get pressure on D and could score in the RZ on O. Jay made a couple dumb throws but he is still pretty much a rookie. But all I know is winning and losing are pinned on a team not one player.Charger week … Igotta admit I am worried how Jay can handle the pressure and if we can get some on Phillip Rivers. Hopefully we can cover the TE this time and be the third team to stop cry baby Tomlinson this season. Out of all the TE’s and RBs we played they caught 30 passes for 276 yards and 2 touchdowns. We are 31st in NFL in rush D we are allowing 181.0 yards per game 5.0 yards per carry 724 yards allowed on the ground and 4 rushing TDs.
Let’s get this win !!
Hey D! I gotta say it was a pleasure to meet you Sunday night downtown. Good luck against the chargers on Sunday, I will be cheering for ya in the stands as always! Thanks for everything you do in the community, you are awesome!!
Hey Fox!
I saw Rod on the jumbotron on Monday at the Rockies game. You definately should have went. Btw how is Rod coming along? I really hope he can come back and play. I don’t want to see a Terrell Davis repeat. But hey the Rockies are on and I’ve gotta catch them
Hope you take it to the Chargers on Sunday…like the Rox did to the Padres
Good luck Sunday!
Hey Fox,
Ok…so yeah. Last week’s loss was disappointing, however, no love loss here! It was painful to watch I must admit. And with our talent on both sides of the ball, there is just no excuse.
Going in to the game on Sunday, I pray for these three things:
1. Please stop Tomlinson. Please.
2. Please rush the passer.
3. Please win.
Have a blessed week. We are still behind the orange and blue every step of the way. But….get it together!!! (in that mean “Everybody Hates Chris” mother voice. Ha!)
All Ready!

*I just heard the Rocks won! Congrats to them!
Hey Fox,
Thanks for another update. I like the info on the pads. A lot of people don’t realize there are different pads for different positions. That’s why linebackers look so huge, their pads are bigger.
On the politics, I’m glad we’re not going to get into that after this week. Turned into too much drama last week.
I would like one more chance to rebut your view though. The problem with Hitler was NOT that we isolated and ignored. The problem is that Europe and America believed the BS that he was spouting off. They saw and watched him build up a military and knew he was desirous and capable of starting another war, but chose to believe his words instead of listening to his actions. Hitler kept claiming he didn’t want a war and was just trying rebuild his country. We knew the guy’s background, we knew it was trouble, but because it was too scary to think about another war, we just let it go and didn’t stop it.
That is the same problem with Iran. We know they are developing nukes. We know they send troops into Iraq to kill Americans. We know this guy is a terrorist. And yet, we still try to negotiate and use UN sanctions when all we get back is a bunch of BS lip service. The problem with letting him speak at Columbia is that he is not going to opening say what he’s doing, or what his real goals are (namely the destruction of America and every non-muslim in the world), he’s just going to try to pacify us so we leave him alone long enough to get enough power so that we can’t stop him. Letting him speak is just giving him a forum for propoganda. If he was actually going to honestly talk about issues, that would be great, but he’s a terrorist, that’s not what he’s going to talk about. Why do we have to re-live history? Why can’t American’s listen to the guys actions, and not his hollow words?
OK, enough of that. I promise you won’t hear anymore politics from me.
So, despite the outcome, you guys played great for the first half of the Colts game. Don’t get depressed, just keep working at it. As soon as you can keep it up for a whole game, things will be smooth-sailing.
Good luck against the Chargers. Might as well take advantage of the fact they aren’t playing very great either.
Go Broncos and Go Rockies!!
Fox,
Living in San Diego, all I here is Charger fans saying how the Chargers are going too beat the Broncos and that we are soft and can’t stop the run.Let’s be the 300 spartans and kick some Charger butt and give back some respect to the Bronco fans in San Diego. It can be done!We will win the AFC West.

I truly believe our defense is suffering due to the lack of scoring our offense is putting up. Our run defense is horendous right now – lets not overlook that. However – If our offense can punch it into the endzone every time we reach the red zone – we could effectively eliminate the run game from our opponent. Indy game for example… If we scored TDs instead of field goals we would have been up 21 – 7 as opposed to 13 – 7. Would that not directly effect Indy’s game plan?? If you need 2 TDs to tie the game – as opposed to 1 TD to take the lead – one would think the Colts would not have had the luxury to run the ball as much as they did. They would have to pass the ball to try and catch up – which would lead them directly into our strength…. which is our secondary. Sure – Peyton is one of the best in the league – but give Champ or Bly enough looks – and they will make you pay.
If we continue to underachieve in the red zone – teams are going to run the ball all day long. We must score TDs and eliminate the run from happening. Then we dont have to worry about our lowsy run defense – and we can make plays with our secondary.
Good news is – we get Phillip Rivers this week. I live in San Diego – so I am unfortunate enough to be forced to watch the Chargers every Sunday – and Phillip Rivers is a joke. LT will get his yards – but Rivers will make mistakes and throw a few picks. If our offense can capatalize on these turnovers with TDs – the run game of LT wont matter….. just like what happened last week when KC put it on the Chargers.
Time to get back on track this Sunday!!! Time to make some plays Domonique!!! Rivers is ripe for the picking right now.
great job Fox,
keep up the good work and write whatever the hell you want…it’s your blog.
do agree that we should be playing a little more press, that we have the corner’s to do it. But people need to remember, and no disrespect to your skills at safety, but lynch not being in there is a huge loss when it comes to stopping the run. Do love you in coverage, though and still not even totally convinced that Bly is better than you at the corner. I’m sure you don’t believe he is either which is the way you need to be right. Got to believe in yourself to make it happen
Broncs RTW! (rule the world)
Fox,
im really interested in learning how rod smith is coming along. I am also intrested in learning how Al Wilson, i know dj is a good linebacker but he plays on the outside its kinda a little anoying to see a great player like Al released. Im also annoyed because we have two players out of position (webster MLB and DJ OLB) its a little confusing but then again Mike has two rings and i have nothing to show on my finger. Just wanted to know how Rod and Al were doing since they were kinda forgotten after the season started. Hope to see ya on the field this week as a corner and John int the game (no offense but your a good corner maybe even great if you got your chance but john is a great tackler). One more thing to say, this is our time its time for the broncos to get rolling and finally get over the hump its time we stoped playing average and started playing like a championship caliber team, to be up there with the best of them to show how denver is getting back at the top and how the broncos are the hottest team in football. no offense to any baseball lover but denver is a football town and the broncos are not living up to expectations. GO OUT THERE AND BEAT S.D. TO THE PUNCH
ALL READY!!!!!!!!
Hey Fox,
I know you’re gonna get this question a lot, and you can’t say anything official, and you don’t want to offend a teammate, but I’m curious what’s your take on the Travis Henry situation?
Is there a lot of this stuff going on? I always thought the broncos didn’t put up with drug use. Seems like a pretty stupid thing for him to do.
Fox,
I’m disappointed in Travis.
Good luck this Sunday Fox.
My goodness. If all this is true; guaranteed he will never put on a Broncos uniform again. This organization does not stand for that. Hopefully this is not the case though.
One Pissed off fan,
James in San Diego
Hey Dom,
I’m wondering if the coaches give you guys a chance to put your two cents in? It seems that with your blog there’s alot of good information to take back with you. Your insite gives us fans and inside to what the life of a pro football player is like. What does Mike say in the locker room, especially at half time when things are tough? I’m fighting for you here in KC and man, I’m taking a beating!! I’m a 5.1 woman and I’m going against 6.3 feet men here my department defending you guys but you’re worth it! Please please please beat San Diego so I can shut these Chiefs fans up!
Good luck Sunday against the Bolts!
Fox~
Just wanted to say what’s up from Korea again. Keep bloggin and keeping us in the loop.
Now remember, we have to get up around 0200 – 0400 to watch these games. We need you to go ahead and crush these teams so we feel good about losing sleep. I’m playin… but for real~~ just shut ‘em down dawg… the U.S. military supports you. Now crush ‘em.
hey fox, what is up with travis henry????????????????????
Fox
In your next blog – please bring us up to par on the ins and outs of Selvin Young if you don’t mind. It appears that he will be our RB once Henry’s appeal gets shot down. So will we be in good hands with Young running the ball when and if Henry is out for a year for puffing on the hippie letuce?
Domonique,
I enjoyed reading this week’s blog so much better than last week’s. I know that you write what you feel like sharing with your readers, so I guess it really doesn’t matter what I think.
I checked out your webpage a while ago and I actually sent you an e-mail, which I was hoping you would respond to, but so far you haven’t.
I have also noticed that you sometimes don’t respond to some of the questions we ask when we comment on your writing. As a suggestion, please try to respond to our questions, because we value your thoughts and interests.
i still believe in you guys 110%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
have fun on your week off!!!!
congrats to the Terps for the win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Fox,
Its me Mr. Negativity from last week. I just wanted you to know thought you did some really good things on D and if we had a player of the game for D it woul be you… I Hope you dont have to, but I know if you do, you can replace champ and maybe get picked on a few times tell the QB gets tired of getting picked. By QB i mean Big Ben…
Fox,
I was just wondering what you plan on doing with your week off? Taking any trips or doing anything fun?
