Tender Signed

April 22nd, 2008 - 3:39pm by domonique_foxworth

The most significant thing that happened was I signed my tender. It’s great, I am happy to be back with the Broncos. Just the more time you spend in the business the more you learn. The ins and outs, the good and the bad. But I am very happy to be able to spend another year — barring anything akward like a trade. I am happy I will be spending another year here in Denver — a city that I have grown to love. Colorado is a great place.

It was weird all offseason because I had a contract pending with the Broncos, it felt like I was on an episode of “Deal or No Deal.” The Broncos offered me a case and I looked around at the rest of the cases and there were no other lucrative cases, so I pressed the button last Friday. I am very happy about the decision I made and happy to be back for another year.

I am also looking forward to focusing on corner, which should allow me to make a lot more plays and return to the very talented young corner that I was before I started bouncing around and filling in for the team at safety and various other positions. I am very excited about signing some new guys, which keep me at corner and I can rekindle my corner talent.

I am excited about the return of Broncos Hockey. I will be at all those games as I am every year. I am a big fan of the equipment room staff and their hockey team. They have added some people from around the organization that aren’t coaches or players and anybody that has kept up with the blog is aware of Broncos Hockey.

I am the number one fan, Bronco Betty and Barrell Man all wrapped up into one. Go Broncos Hockey! I am looking forward to the start of their season. It is always fun to support those guys because they do a great job of supporting us throughout the season. They are kind of our unsung heros and they are there cheering for us and preparing us for every game. I go and cheer for them, I do not do any work like the equipment staff does for us, but I just cheer really hard and get in arguments with people in the stands, it is always really fun.

I went to a Green Apple Earth Day Festival that we had in Denver on Sunday. It was a big concert, it looked like about either to ten thousand people there. It was fun, I spoke there for a couple minutes. It was really just about getting down to City Park and being a part of Denver and raising awareness about living green. I was brought there by a friend mine, Marc Ross, who was a lawyer and the head of “Rock the Earth.” Which is a local non-profit that has done some innovative things to help people live green, so a shout out to “Rock the Earth” and thanks for having me.

I am looking forward to one of my friends who is getting married, well a bunch of my friends actually. I guess it is that time. I am around 25 and most of my friends are in that range from around 25-30, so it is about that time everyone starts to get married. It just seems that everybody is doing it at once. I have a ton of weddings to go to this summer, which is kinda exciting and I am in a lot of them which is also kinda exciting. I guess it is not as exciting for guys as it is for girls but I am still happy for my guys. I am in charge of at least one bachelor party so I am going to make sure we do it right and have a great time.

Two of my teammates from college have the first weddings coming up and they just seem so amazingly stressed by the wedding. It seems that weddings are a really big deal and it is not so much about the bride and groom anymore, as much as it is to make it great for everyone around. It seems like it just causes a ton of stress for the people who the weddings are for. It is kinda sad. Whenever I get married, I am trying to go to the court house, sign some papers and get it moving. Weddings are amazingly expensive and are a huge hassle with stress and pain.

Sorry to anybody who is getting married anytime soon, congratulations two thumbs up. I am aware that the new blogmaster is getting married next month, so congratulations to him and good luck with that. (Blogmaster Note: Thanks Fox) Hopefully it is not as stressful for you as it seems like it is for all my friends who are getting married around this time. I don’t know if getting married is … well getting married is scary. I dont know if the process of leading up to it is more intimidating to me than actually doing it.

Anyway, don’t worry women 18-35, I am not getting married anytime soon, so dont shed any tears. Anyway, weddings are cool. Can’t wait to wear tuxedos, bow ties, and all that stuff and do the electric slide at the reception. That is always my favorite part, you get to see your friends and family get a little sauced up and make some poor decisions on the dance floor. I don’t drink, so I am always the one that reminds all my friends and family later of the fools they made of themselves. I do look forward to that at weddings.

The draft is coming up, I know it is an exciting time for the fans. I have not watched it since I was in it and I did not watch it that much then. I don’t know, they are out there looking for our replacements. That is just as frank as I can be, that is the nature of the league. Every year, every week, and every month they are looking for somebody who can do your job better for cheaper. It is a business, it is sad, but it is what it is.

The draft is exciting to see a lot of young guys reach their dreams and I get a little nostalgic every now and then. I might break out the draft video when I heard my name called. It is a great time for those guys and a great time to build. A momentum for teams going into the season and everybody has a lot of confidence and faith around draft time. I am looking forward to when we start playing games for real. I think we have a very talented team, slightly underrated and looking forward to sneaking up on some people for once.

I am looking forward to the Boys and Girls Club Gala which is on May 2. May is a big month for the Boys and Girls club in Denver, or the Broncos branch. We have the gala and also D-Will’s statue is going to be unveiled at the Boys and Girls club and the Darrent Williams Memorial Teen Center is opening this May. I am looking forward to being at all of those things. I can’t wait!

I am really proud of what we have been able to accomplish in the wake of a tragedy. I talked to Darrent’s family recently, there is a big parade and celebration coming up on June 15 — I believe — that is going to be down in Texas. I am going to try and make it, but I actually have something planned on that day. So I will see if I can move some things around and be able to make it down there because it is something I would like to be a part of.

The NBA playoffs are going on. I am a Nuggets fan, so I have been watching and rooting for them. It was tough to see the first loss, but looking forward for them to bounce back soon. I have a friend that plays for the Wizards, so I have been watching those games as well. They have been kinda painful, but I root for the Wiz also, but at the same time it is hard to root against King (Lebron) James. I love watching him play. Playoff time in all sports is always an exciting time, go Nuggets and go Avs.

Finally, I received a letter from someone who is a member of the blog nation, David Price (sp) from Cleveland, England in the UK. It is pretty cool to get a letter from that far away. I was actually born in England, thanks to the United States Military who had my dad stationed over there when I was born. I would just like to thank David for writing me. It is always a shock and makes you feel somewhat insignificant when you realize how large the world is and how far reaching the blog is. So once again David, thanks for your support and thanks for all the letters I do receive.

All Ready!

Its great to hear some positive bloggers, who have good sense, understand the game and talk with ownership of being a bronco. Fox is a good player, and with great people as Champ and Lynch around, he’ll only get better. His time will come with this team, as azbroncofan70 says, and if not it is the bronx loss. I like getting the tackle in the draft, because now Jay can throw more confidently, and the defense won’t have to be under so much pressure all of the time. Seems like the team addressed some issues up front, because without help there, the corners suffer and have long days with passes. I hope the coaches can relate to the players.

Boy I am ready for the season already. I love the new additions from the draft. I especially liked the pick up of Eddie Royal as you can tell by my screen name. I watched an interview with him and he says he thinks he might be able to do a great job on returns. He related himself to Devin Hester, and if he is anywhere near that good i like him already. I hope you move above bly on the depth chart this year because personally I beleive you are better. I think from what I have seen you are very underrated. I have never been to a game but I watch every game I can on tv. I live in Oklahoma so I probably won’t have the chance for a while but I would like to meet you. Once I had a chance to go to a game at arrowhead, which you guys won by the way, but my friend had to go early in the morning and he thought I would get mad if he woke me up. I was so mad. He had an extra ticket and I still didn’t get to go. Oh well I will be 18 in a little over a year so I will come to see you play.

I know you probably won’t but I wish you would look me up on BRONCOS COUNTRY. I would really enjoy chatting some time.

    SINCERELY, royal-t
