Shanahan: Barring Setback, Cutler ‘Should Be Ready to Go’

November 7th, 2007 - 4:41pm by Andrew

Going into Wednesday’s practice, Jay Cutler was unsure how his bruised left fibula would fare during the two-hour session. Afterwards, his head coach was confident that the second-year quarterback would be available for Sunday’s game.

“He did well. He practiced most of the practice,” Head Coach Mike Shanahan said. “Unless there’s a setback, he should be ready to go.

“I’m not sure how much it hurt,” Shanahan added, “but he was productive out there. He took his normal (repetitions) — maybe a few less (than usual).”

While Cutler saw action throughout the practice, safety John Lynch was limited as he continues to recover from the pinched nerve he suffered nine days earlier against the Green Bay Packers. Running back Travis Henry did not take part in any of Wednesday’s work; he’s recovering from a slight knee injury he suffered in Sunday’s loss to Detroit. Defensive end John Engelberger also sat out with a shoulder injury.

Wide receiver Javon Walker remained out as he recovers from Oct. 19 knee surgery, while defensive tackle Sam Adams was held out of the Wednesday practice, as is custom. Shanahan said Walker would “maybe” begin running by the end of the week.

“If he does then maybe he’ll have a chance to play against Tennessee on Monday night (Nov. 19),” Shanahan said. “We won’t know that until later on in the week. We’ll wait and see when he runs and gets into football shape. It’s been a while since he has actually run and worked out, so we’ll have to see where he is at toward the end of the week.”

Five other players were listed on the injury report but made it through the full practice Wednesday — fullback Cecil Sapp (calf), linebacker D.J. Williams (finger), cornerback Karl Paymah (knee), defensive end Elvis Dumervil (knee) and wide receiver Glenn Martinez (ribs).

Meanwhile, in Kansas City, Chiefs head coach Herman Edwards
ruled Larry Johnson out for Sunday’s game.

“He’s not playing this week,” Edwards said.

Johnson did not participate in Wednesday’s practice, and Edwards said that the Pro Bowl running back’s foot remains swollen, and thus, any reports issued regarding a season-ending broken bone in the foot are premature.

“His foot is still swollen and (the doctors) are still trying to look at to determine exactly where he’s at,” Edwards said.

its good to see that we may be beaten but not totally broken. Thank goodness Cutler is fine. Hopefully we can pull something together and lift ourselves up in the AFC West this Sunday! GO BRONCOS!

  2. misteznprince says:

Jays back so we hav a chance!!!! and LJ is out so they’ll hav to rely on priest to kill us on the ground…….but however unlikely that is it wouldnt surprise me if that happens thats just how bad our D has bee :-( if we can sweep the chiefs then i can see us just barely making the wild card where we can spoil some other teams run yay!!!!!

  3. Dekreybroncofan says:

So dose anyone know if he can hurt it worse or is it just somehting that may limit Jay because of pain?

  4. Dekreybroncofan says:

    Misten,
The Offense almost allowed as many points as the D last week so don’t count our D out… Be a Fan! Oh and I don’t see anyone in our Division getting a wild card spot we better just win out Division and control our own destiny.

  5. Dennis Henderson says:

Leave Ramsey in.. give him a shot.. and he will pass Cutler…
    Time for a change.

  6. Broncofan1088 says:

Ignorance is evident with every word you typed in that post Dennis. Cutler has done nothing drastically wrong to harm this team in comparison to the horrendous defense. Watch some games for once.

  7. longhorn-25 says:

Broncos whould be 8-0 if everybody was injured next year when everybody is not injured we are going 16-0 and win super bowl(ok al bronco fans)

  8. longhorn-25 says:

broncos are going own the cheifs titans bears chargers and vikings cuz everybody(hopefully) is not injured go broncos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. WhiteHoss says:

“Barring setback”? Does Shanahan mean “barring yet another offensive line breakdown because I don’t feel a QB needs more than 2.3 seconds to target, lock, and fire while running away from 5 or 6 behemoths?”

  10. DenvaBroncos says:

im just glad jay cutler will most likely play but shanahan knows that if he has to put in ramsey he will put him in so jay wont get more severe for the titans and javon will be back sooner than i thought he could be back during the titains game or he will most likely 98% he wll be back for the bears game

  11. dfish001 says:

okay dennis, you are a retard, cutler has done nothing wrong, your prolly one of those plummer fans. cant wait till javon gets back, hopefully he wont be a waste of money anymore, sam adams didnt practice cause hes a worthless peice of $#@% but its okay cause LJ isnt paying and preist is old. this week should be a good one for broncos fans…..GO BRONCOS!!!!!!

  12. jamesbailey24 says:

good thing that sam adams ( i bet he broke his jaw while tryin to eat a 22 inch sub at Quznos:P) is injured hopefully we could see simeon rice playin his best and one of the new acquisition. Also I think that Jacobs could help us as a 4 or 5th receiver. we need to put a good MLB because DJ is better as a OLB. Or,we could play in a 3-4 formation:

    DL:dumervil-mallard-rice

    LB:BEck-gold-webster-DJ

this should help stop the run and create more pressure with a LB in more instead of a DL, wich would get more pressure with more speed.

*the best defense (steelers) is a 3-4 defense and if you saw Monday night, James Harrisson had 3.5 sacks, i would expect that performance by a player like DJ if we played a 3-4 defense

  13. elway07 says:

Thank God Cutler is okay… there is light at the end of the tunnel. Cutler is going to just fine, he’s going to tough out the pain he’s just that kind of guy. And that’s why I love him as our QB. I really hope Lynch comes back soon, I really think our defense is struggling a bit b/c we’re lacking a great player like him. I hope all our injured guys come back ASAP.

And it sounds like we have a pretty GREAT chance at crushing the Chiefs if they don’t have LJ… and I hope they get embarrassed out of their own stadium. I’ve got my own little rivalry with them, I’ve got too many friends that are Chiefs fans - I’ll never understand that. Go get ‘em Broncos!!! I got faith in you guys - LOVE YOU CUTLER!!!

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!

  14. KoobLis says:

Wow Dennis, that’s all I can say is wow. Are you sure you’re even a bronocs fan?

  15. Horseface19 says:

I read that Elvis is ticked that it’s taking until now to start calling out bad performances. I have thought about that and being a lifelong Bronco fan, I remember what it took for good years, HEART and DEDICATION! Back in the Elway days, whole career (all 5 SB years included, almost 6) after the Jax game there would have been a players only meeting. These guys should always be called out for boneheaded plays. Physical mistakes happen, mental are never allowed!!! And, if the stud Sam Adams is making mental errors, no more Weds’ off. I read that he was offsides on a crucial play for not hustling. Step up if you need to step up! Get those around you playin’ ball, or pull the coach aside and get his #%$ out of there!

I do like the 3-4 D comments. Pitt has 3 down and 3 bouncing at scrimmage, NE has 5 on scrimmage and they both confuse at the start and dictate the rest. Ever heard of the prevent? The ‘ole “keep it in front and nothing deep”? It sucks and we either play that, or, sellout with zero or 1 coverage. Those teams have 5-6 off scrimmage, but ready to attack and make plays. Can every linebacker or D-lineman be a stud for both NE and PITT (don’t forget SD)? No, but they run an assignment system that causes pre-snap confusion and play hard and explosive within their assignment. We do need to play hard, but we also need to start dictating and not hoping for that one or two guys to make it happen.

And, this 12 men on the field BULL$%^#! First off, how bright is it to sprint 300+ plus pound me on and off each play. Coach alert — when you start a series, you’re stuck with the DT’s you started with unless there’s an official timeout. So, yeah, let’s have big boy sprint out to barely make it onsides and get set before the snap so that he can puke on the gaurd’s face and cause a distraction. WTF!!! Those big guys are worthless after a long sprint, does it really need to be explained? Are we tinkering with the hogs now? It is the coaches responsibility to get players in the right position, some of this $%#@ is embarassing. Have faith in a system and get competitors in position to make plays. If they aren’t bright enough for a certain position, or have the requisite killer instict, get them out of the way! Keep the system you choose alive (life would be easier with a 3-4) and keep plugging players in until the have the deathgrip on the job at hand!

  16. doctorising says:

Hey Mr. Henderson up there, that was a real astute suggestion you made. Hey, maybe we can just bring back Jake Plummer. Or maybe Steve Beurlein can come out of retirement–hey I know, Bubby Brister can come play! Bright, real bright…
And as far as the comment about switching to a 3-4 defense? Just a few small details that were overlooked. One, look where switching defensive schemes (same base D, different scheme) from last year to this year has gotten us. Two, in order to make a 3-4 work, the down 3 have to be monstrous because they have to occupy 5 offensive linemen. Ever notice that DE’s in a 3-4 scheme aren’t exactly sack machines with any regularity? We don’t even have guys to play the Bates 4-3 yet. Just look at our last musical rosters move. I agree that we have some pretty fast LB’s, but since Bates doesn’t run a 3-4 and our LB’s aren’t used to it, that might be a tragic demise to still salvagable season.
And the comment about needing John Lynch back? I hate to say it, but we weren’t exactly dominating when John WAS playing. Everytime I looked up he or Nick Ferguson were running guys down from behind. I love John Lynch but I don’t think his return is going to tip the D in our favor. I really think they need to rethink their decision to bring Bates in. However, I will say that usually about the time Bates moves on, his defenses suddenly seem to do what they were expected to while he was there. Strange but true.
In the end I hope that the offense can focus on FINISHING–something they’ve struggled with all season long. As well, maybe the O coaches can stop making questionable calls at critical times in the games. As far as the D goes, geez I’m not even sure where to start. They constantly look lost and out of place. It’s gotta be the scheme. They didn’t play like this last year…AND WE’VE SUPPOSEDLY UPGRADED TOO. For now I think Bates needs to start playing defense with our personnel in mind instead of trying to find the right personnel to fit his scheme like he’s been doing, ohhhhh up until–well, like he is still doing now!!!

    Dennis Haiku

    Ramsey above Jay?
    Ludicrous and stupid, Yes!
    Ramsey’s not the man.

With that said, this Dennis is a Raiders fan and he shouldn’t be allowed to post on this message board. Jay’s back, this is our hope to win at Kansas City. Priest Holmes will not beat us and Damon Huard certainly won’t. We can move the ball on this Chiefs defense as we do every other unit we’ve faced. If we take advantage of red zone opportunities like we did against the Steelers, we win.

  19. WhidbeyBronco says:

By the time I get to leave my post it’s all been said! Thankfully I can come here and here from some true blue, yet intelligent Broncos fans!! (Except for that idiot Dennis)

One thing left unsaid today, I can still point out; This league is COMPETITIVE. Slip up on just a couple decisions, learn a new scheme just a fraction too slow, learn to work with new teammates and coaches (O & D!) just a blink behind and last but not least; lose some KEY vets that we hoped would support our young new talent… and we get eaten ALIVE in this league of great talents.

Sometimes time & luck are the only cure. Bates scares me but he is a proven commodity. We must not panic, we must overcome this, New leaders in the locker room must be found to replace the Elways, Wilsons & sadly Smiths…

Crazy thing is, we could still win this once greatest division and play spoiler until it all comes together (maybe next year?)

    Go Broncos!!!!!!!!!!

PS Please beat the Chiefs, my lowly brother is a KC fan

  20. hrdnokd says:

WHAT THE HELL TOOK SO LONG? HELLO!!! The fans have been calling it out all year, it’s not hard to SEE!!!

By Lee Rasizer, Rocky Mountain News

“We have to just put practices together and games together,” Bates said.

That sounds fine, if coordination hadn’t been such a big issue in the season’s opening half in the first place.

Ask about the defense’s problems and inevitably the answer will include some version of players not executing their responsibilities or a couple defenders being out of place, throwing off the entire scheme.

But after a 44-7 loss Sunday, Broncos cornerback Dré Bly suggested it’s time to name names; if not publicly, within the framework of the defensive meeting room to get to the heart of the matter and hasten the improvement before the season slips away.

“At this point, it’s what we need to start doing — singling guys out,” Bly said. “And singling them out in front of the team so the rest of the team can see who’s doing what and who’s not.”

  21. [...] shouldn’t be counting on him in any leagues at this point, but word out of Denver is that Jay Cutler should be under center this Sunday. It’s probably more relevant for owners who are considering Brandon Marshall in a [...]

Go Broncos!! When we win the division and host a playoff game, i’m going to come down to Denver (from houston) for the game….guaranteed!!

  25. LetPlummerPlay says:

IT CANNOT be said any better than Kyle said it last night on South Park, anyone else see that? HILARIOUS, one of the greatest moments of South Park history.

Kyle to Jay Cutler: “Hey, my dad says YOU SUCK, but you might be good…some day.”

I highly encourage you all to go home and fix up your TIVO to record the re-run which should run Friday and Sunday night. You will see Jay in all his animated Pumpkin Pie glory!

  26. WhiteHoss says:

Actually LPP, the specific quote is more like “You kinda suck, but my dad says you might be good someday.” Which to me is funnier if you take the characters referenced into consideration. And they did pretty much nail Cutler’s likeness right down to the mole and the aforementioned Pumpkin Pie bowl haircut.

  27. SaloRB says:

LPP… Plummer is out, he will not return to the NFL… stop crying about that

  28. LetPlummerPlay says:

SALORB, did I mention Plummer?….THOUGHT SO.

  29. WhidbeyBronco says:

Gotta love Jake. Big heart. Let him play defense, we could use him.!! Meanwhile Jay’s pretty good now and may be great one day. Jake barely exceeded pretty good his whole career… ok pretty damn good but still…

PS I know u dont want to be like that but why not block LPP Mason? He’s just a heckler and has what (?) to contribute here? How about a vote on that one everybody?

  30. WhidbeyBronco says:

allow me to cast vote one; Block LetPlummerPlay!

  31. cutleriselway says:

Well it’s pretty comforting knowing that the kid is not seriously hurt. But one thing is for sure, this upcoming draft should be NOTHING BUT OFFENSIVE LINE. Every single pick should be made around pass protection…true denver’s style of play is generated around the running game, but if its not working then adjust it right? Shanahan is all about the adjustment, so do your job and make some, yeah? It’s no doubt that the injuries are KILLING us, but you have to adjust and make due with what you have…and if what you have isn’t working, then you know what you need to fix correct? The defensive line is kind of beefed up now with the addition of Simeon Rice, but Denver’s secondary is supposed to be all pro…i see a bunch of older vets getting beat on deep speed routes. Therefore you need some “Ball-Hawks” in the Saftey positions…like a Shawn Taylor and LaRon Landry tandem. You have some aging corners and they aren’t as fast as they used to be…SPEED, SPEED, SPEED. I cannot stress that enough, because one thing you cannot teach is GOD given speed. And last year I hear how Denver might have the best Linebacking corps in all of football. Im not hearing that now, now that you release Al Wilson…seriously i dont care if he was able to play anymore or not…just cutting him was ignorant, he was still a voice and the heart and soul of that defense. I dont care if you have John Lynch, Champ Bailey, Dre’ Bly, there’s no denying that Al Wilson was the TRUE leader on that defensive unit and you just throw him away. Maybe there’s more to it than I really know but still, from my perspective that was stupid. Selvin Young looks to be like a flourishing young half back, i would like to see him get the ball more…Travis Henry is good but seeing Selvin Young run almost reminds me of that guy…oh whats his name..oh yeah, Terrell Davis…yeah I said it! Selvin Young has serious potential, and i like the way he carries the rock. He’s a comfort zone i feel in this struggling offense…as well as Terrell Owens Jr. Brandon freakin Marshall, that guy is AMAZING after he catches the ball and has the power to break an awful lot of tackles…but he has been getting some action which is a GREAT thing…but one thing that bothers me is that you let Daniel Graham get more playing time than Tony Scheffler. Let me put it to you like this….Cutler to Sheffler, Cutler to Marshall, Cutler to Young….now work around that and i think you should have yourself a decently productive offense until your superstars get back. But while in the process, DONT HANDICAP THE OFFENSE! let cutler do what he feels comfortable doing and work your playbook around that…roll out bootlegs, play actions, Shotgun formations things like that…which brings me to another point, I think a 5 Wide Shotgun would work GREAT in the redzone..cause if one isn’t open you have 4 other options…plus if Jay feels bold he could make a nice scramble, yeah? Nontheless, i would like to see more wide receiver options available after you pass the 50 yard line…but do what you will….what do i know anyways, im just a fan… a fan sick and tired of seeing my powerhouse team pushed around. Enough is enough ya know!

    COME ON BRONCOS FINISH STRONG

Hey we’re just used to being on the top of the division so these losses are new to us Broncos fans (we don’t like this) so lets hope for a come back from injuries and start to work our way back up to the winning team we can be. BTW I vote to leave LPP on, a numbnut like that makes the rest of us look good ;-) GO BRONCOS

  36. cutlerfan says:

Cutler known for his rough spots
New Broncos QB is tough guy and fiery leader on the field

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Jay Cutler looked to the sideline.
He waited for the next play to be called in.

In the meantime, he glanced down, saw one of his fingers hanging off his hand, grabbed it, yanked it back into place, took the signal from the sideline and walked to the huddle.

Then he completed four passes to set up a game-winning field-goal attempt.

If you want to know what kind of football player Jay Cutler is, this is all you need to know.

If you want to know what kind of person he is, delve a little deeper.

To most Denver fans, Cutler is the smiling guy in the newspaper holding the Broncos jersey, the guy with the weird haircut who said he’s just as good as Matt Leinart and Vince Young. He’s the guy Broncos coach Mike Shanahan traded up for at No. 11 and who someday could become the face and future of the Broncos organization.

But right now, he’s still somewhat of a mystery to most Broncos fans.

Cutler is straightforward and uber-confident, but he’s also a study in two distinct personality types. He’s a softhearted family guy who still keeps a close eye on his two younger sisters. But he’s also your prototypical eat-raw-steak football player.

“He’s definitely tough and a gamer,” Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson said.

“He always wanted to be in the game. He’s the kind of guy you don’t want to go out and play against. Nobody is going to intimidate him. He did it all against the top competition, so I think he’s got the training going into the NFL.”

Cutler’s got the sack thing down. He spent four years getting drilled by Georgia defensive ends and Florida linebackers but still managed to start all 45 games he played at Vanderbilt.

Whether it was having his helmet completely turned around (which Sports Illustrated featured with a full-page picture three years ago) or pulling a dislocated finger back into joint against Middle Tennessee State last season, Cutler’s toughness often was his most impressive attribute.

His college life was one of vicious hits, nauseating losses and constant criticism regarding Vanderbilt’s football program and its chances to ever be successful.

His physical appearance was a symbol of such criticism. He was a walking walk-in clinic during Sunday practices. It was common to see Cutler walk achingly onto the practice field with black eyes, thick lacerations on his arms, scratches on his neck, a bruised sternum and dislocated fingers.

It was equally common to hear Cutler downplay the injuries, and laugh about them.

“It’s no big deal” was Cutler’s standard line after pointing out an injury.

Vanderbilt coaches said one of Cutler’s strengths was his on-field emotions. It was a mix of composure and fire. He would get into the face of a Tennessee linebacker, in front of 106,000 at Neyland Stadium, then would get into the face of one of his offensive linemen if an assignment were missed. Cutler also was the first guy to praise a teammate after a good play.

His off-the-field emotions were tested 17 months ago when he and his teammates suffered a tragic loss. Running back Kwane Doster was shot and killed during Christmas break while visiting family in Tampa, Fla. Doster spent three seasons in the backfield with Cutler, and the two were close.

Doster’s death proved to be a major reason why Cutler returned for his senior season instead of entering the NFL draft.

“We all went down to the funeral and it made this team closer,” Cutler said during the off-season. “It made me realize how much Vanderbilt really means to me.”

Cutler already was the point man of the Commodores program and spoke at length with the media the day Doster was killed. He took control and spoke for his teammates. Many of his teammates were too distraught to comment.

“It was a tough situation that I think taught us all a great deal,” Johnson said.

Before facing his greatest personal tragedy, and before establishing himself as one of the nation’s top college quarterbacks, Cutler was just another small-town boy living a typical suburban life in Santa Claus, Ind.

It was all very normal, except for his hometown’s name, of course.

“It’s just like any other small town anyone else is from, but some idiot decided to name it Santa Claus,” Cutler said in June. “I guess some people think it’s interesting, but I’m from there, so I don’t find it that bizarre. It could be named Easter Bunny, for all I care.”

His dad was a former college football player who dropped out of school and later became a police officer. Jack Cutler started a concrete business on the side and his son would spend summer afternoons pouring concrete at various homes and businesses.

A sign still sits in the basement of the family’s Indiana home. It reads: Cutler & Son Concrete.

It has become trite to label athletes as blue collar, but it fits for Cutler. Working in concrete strengthened his arms, hands and shoulders. His father always made sure his son worked, and it often was grueling.

“That showed me what I didn’t want to do as a job when I got older,” Cutler said.

It forged a deep understanding of hard work and value. It’s something he carried to Vanderbilt, and it even played a role in the friends he chose.

“I think he has a core group of people he trusts,” said John Sisk, Vanderbilt’s director of speed, strength and conditioning who is one of Cutler’s closest friends.

Nashville is a town rife with celebrities. Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow and supermodel Niki Taylor all have residences here. Nicole Kidman, who’s dating Nashville resident and country music artist Keith Urban, often can be seen at a restaurant or flea market. Players from the Tennessee Titans and the Nashville Predators mingle easily with the music and celebrity scene.

Cutler could have blended in and gone to all of the high-profile parties. He was just as famous as any of them in Nashville during the past two years. Instead, he opted to hang out with teammates and a few Vanderbilt staff members, including Sisk. Call Cutler the anti-Leinart.

“He’s good friends with our equipment staff and gets along with everyone in the whole building, really,” said Sisk, who helped Cutler go from 190 pounds to 229 pounds in four years. “He’s like an extension of our strength staff. We had a high school coaching clinic here (at Vanderbilt) recently and he showed up to help out. How many quarterbacks taken in the first round would do something like that?”

    All fingers point to Cutler.

    Dislocated or not.

  37. LetPlummerPlay says:

My GOD Cutlerfan, write a book!

Our Whitehoss and myself the only ones who saw Cutler on South Park last night? I thought there’d be much more comments on here about that, or was everyone insulted because Stan said Jay kinda sucks?

  38. elway07 says:

LPP, in case you haven’t noticed (which is pretty obvious you haven’t) just about everyone on here besides you and your ego appreciate and LOVE CUTLER!!! We’ve all moved on from Plummer, he’s gone man, you should move on out of here with him!!!!!!!!! Better yet if you love the guy so much, go marry him you freak!! No one cares about some lame TV show saying something so mediocre about Cutler, if the TV show is going to say something bad about someone else come up with something better than “he just sucks”. It’s LAME, LAME, LAME!!!!!!! just like you LPP. I’m in no way insulted by again a LAME TV show saying Cutler “sucks”. For your 411, he doesn’t. He beats the heck out of Plummer any given Sunday. Cutler is young but he’s got more potential and talent than any other QB we’ve had since Elway left. He’s staying dude so suck it up and SHUT UP!! He’s a fresh face to the team, he’s got a killer arm something Jake never had and he’s a leader. Jake never came across as a leader. He was better than Griese but he’s not as good as Cutler.

To LPP, I’ve got just 3 simple words for you:
    MOVE ON MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!

  39. WhiteHoss says:

Off-topic, remember how good Elway was on Tecmo Bowl? He was no Bo Jackson but he was a top 3 QB in that game. Too bad all he had to throw to was Ricky Nattiel. Now Chicago and San Fran in that game were just disgusting, and Los Angeles had a pretty terrifying attack.

    So, who wants gum?

  40. WhiteHoss says:

Elway07, calling South Park “lame” is like calling the Broncos “Silver and Black.” The sentence is simply incorrect.

  41. Broncfalls says:

    LPP,

You crack me up :) you’re like that little piece of turd that want go down even after you flush.

I took a look at week 11 schedule. I did not realize that after the chiefs lose to the Broncos, and Peyton shows the chargers they don’t belong in week 10. That the chiefs then get to take a field trip to Indy & the charges go to Jacksonville. It’s getting interesting…..horrible football, but interesting…..

p.s. Not to look ahead, but Bates, please find an answer to the run defense before Wk17. Minnesota comes to town and someone told me that, this Peterson guy for Minnesota is o.k. at running the football…

I have faith though…the boys will pull it out!

    Got ge em boys!!!

  42. LetPlummerPlay says:

elway07 you show your ignorance. How DARE you call South Park lame. To call South Park lame is to call John Elway average! Hopefully you were just insulted that South Park creators had the balls to say “Jay sucks, but people sure THINK he’ll be good someday.”

Because as I and others have said calling South Park lame just has no excuse.

LPP & Whitehoss, I believe I just offended the both of you by calling South Park LAME, which it is. And LPP, you and your other ego up there are the only two to have objected against me calling SP LAME. It has got to be the most retarded show on earth. Its a waste of time and a TV show. I am in no way offended, they’d have to do a hell of alot better than that to offend me. And last time I checked calling SP LAME had nothing to do with the Broncos, you both just like making up excuses to make the stupid show sound worth someone’s while. Its a simple statement… to call SP lame is calling SP lame, there’s no need to bring Elway or the Broncos into this. They have nothing to do with SP.

But I do believe very much I just go to both of your nerves, which is hilarious. So just to make your day, I’m gonna say it again. South Park is LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME, LAME… uh did I mention LAME!!!!!!

That’s for all the “get rid of Cutler, bring back Plummer” remarks LPP. Have a GREAT day.

Cutler is the new QB little boy so suck it up. Oh, I love when I get to people’s nerves, especially ones like you ignorant stay in the past people. Get over Plummer dude and like Broncfalls you’re just a piece of turd :flush: Oh I believe I just flushed you down the toilet myself, bye bye!!

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!

LPP, you didn’t need to mention Plummer… what else can your nickname mean???…
Everyone here knows that you love him and you want him to return… as I told you, he will not be back, and even if he will, he will never be better than Jay Cutler.
That kid is amazing and he will show you that he can be better than any QB in the NFL.

Wow, guys…where is the love? I tend to agree with WhiteHoss on most things, but can’t we all just get along? Anyway, reading that long post about Cutler made me wonder something I asked earlier this year. Has anyone seen the fire in him that article talks about? I think he has a great demeanor, and I think that calm is the trait of the great ones. The article mentions him getting in a defender’s face, and sometimes in a teammate’s? From the few games I’ve been able to see on tv, I have not seen any of that out of him. I think it would fire some of his teammates up to see him getting fired up like that once in awhile, but I’m not sure if he is already doing it. It makes me think about how Favre and Sapp used to get in those little tussles, and you could see the effect it would have on the other players. Am I making any sense? Oh, and elway07…you dog LPP for “loving Plummer” like that’s a bad thing. Didn’t you post on here somewhere “LOVE YOU CUTLER”?

Ramsey - Cutler - Man.. some of you get so up tight. No I am not a die hard Broncos Fan. Just an outsider who is actually a Cowboys fan. Cutler is not the main problem with the Broncos. You got way more problems than a QB. I am anti Broncos. In fact, I pull for them every time they play..(except against Cowboys).I think you guys have a class organization. I think Ramsey can do a better job right now and let Cutler get fully healed. H is tender right now. Why through him back in with your offensive line for further injuries this week. Ramsey knows all about crappy offensive lines.. he lived with one in Washington and held up well. So give him a shot for a few weeks. He might surprise you. You guys are not going to play offs this year. So broaden your horizons Just think Ramsey can produce for you under the pressure of a losing season. So that is it. Watch the Cowboys in the play offs and in the Bowl.

elway07 you’re quickly becoming my favorite blogger! Watch out I’ll start a site called letelway07thebloggerblog.com

To your point about leaving Elway out of the South Park argument, you certainly have never watched the show. Had you ever, you’d certainly know that the show has spent years WORSHIPING Elway, even dedicating WHOLE EPISODES to John Elway. In addition to the fact that the creators are from Denver, I’d say there are several links to the show, the Broncos and Elway himself, therefore they’re not unrelated as you say.

I’m over Plummer playing for the Broncos. Sure we say what we say on our site, yet I have not come on here saying oh Shanahan ought to call Plummer up and bring him back…though other bloggers have. It’s just my name that still declares the Broncos greatest QB other than Elway.

But honestly, with Cutler’s professional record now at 7 wins and 11 losses, all we can do is “HOPE” that someday he will be good, but he certainly might not be.
