What’s going on? Just checking in real quick after our first win of the season. That felt real good.
Everybody’s spirits are up. We displayed to everybody what we can do when we work together as a team. But there are still a couple things we need to clean up.
As far as my game, the coaches told me what kind of load I was going to get coming in, so I was ready for it. The thing was just to go out there and have fun. Don’t take everything too seriously.
No doubt about it, I always have faith in myself that I can do anything I put my mind to. It was just me waiting for my opportunity, and I got my opportunity.
I joked I was going to be sore after taking that many carries — and believe me, I was very much sore. But it was all for the good of the team.
Getting ready this week, it’s been great seeing Knowshon back out at practice. It’s good to have everybody back where we can go out and perform and not have to worry about any drop-off anywhere.
Now we’ve got Tennessee at their place. It’s going to be very hostile, but we’re pros. Our job is to go in there and seize the moment. That’s what we’re going to do. As long as we stick together and stay a group, the sky’s the limit.
Just know we’re ready to go.

While it sucks that it came as the result of injuries to our wr corps, it was awesome to see decker finally get a chance to show what he can do last sunday.
I have been singing this guys praises for a while now, talking about how he is my favorite receiver, and how he might quietly be the best receiver on our team, and all that. So it’s nice to finally see that reflected in the media.

Hah, bay probably already linked this somewhere.
Man what a lucky gifted athlete.
“Hmm, I could play MLB or NFL football. Eeny meeny miny mo … Football it is.”
I’s give my left …

That’s what Elway did.
The Ravens had 8 men in the box to stop Johnson and Ringer but got burned over the top by Hasselback.
It wil be interesting to see what scheme Broncos run this weekend.
All depends if Elvis is good to go..
I see a healthy vondoom (or the lack thereof) to be a huge difference maker in this game.
I doubt (hope?) the titans will run all over us. We held CJ to about 40 yards last season, and we have only gotten better since then, both in personnel and scheme.
But when/if we stop the run, we will need pressure, as hassleback is good enough to pick us apart if he gets all day. If Miller, Doom, and Co. are hitting on all cylinders, Hassleback will not be happy.
I think it will depend more on whether or not Champ is ready. If we’re going to stack the box that means our DBs will be in man coverage..we all saw what we were like last week. So whether or not Fox feels comfortable leaving our CBs to make a play if we don’t get to Hasselbeck is the big question.
rbf, you are correct. I meant against cincy.
I think we will have 8 men in the box anyway. Dawks specialty in his old age is tackling and against the run. He doesn’t have young legs to cover the back from sideline to sideline. Leave that to Moore. Besides if we take out the run, doom and miller will be more than enough to shake up the passing game. Well…thats what i think at least. TRB
You are talking about blitzing basically every down. If Dawkins and Rahim can stay in coverage and our line backers can take care of the run then we have a good shot at a win. With Elvis back it will be a fun one to watch!
With Elvis in there you can get more disguises plus added pressure, so it does have an impact. Champ makes a difference for sure on back end, no doubt.
The 3-3-5 alignment Broncos used last weekend didn’t confuse the offense much in 2nd half as they made adjustments. What’s nice is we can play zone or man out of this lineup.
Dude, we just cut LB Mike Mohammed. I thought he had some potential. And signed TE Dante Rosario. Hanging on to Virgil Green I guess is more important. I suppose we do have Nate Irving still so. But didn’t we just put John Nalbone on the practice squad?
I was thinking about something on the QQ money thing, Bay. It sounds like they aren’t wanting to pay either Tebow or Quinn the escalator clauses. Are they saying that if either one of them reaches those milestones, they aren’t going to make the money back for the team? If you signed a contract with an employee that had incentive clauses that you knew in advance the employee could never recoup for the company no matter how well they performed, Congratulations, you just signed one seriously dumb-a$$ contract! No wonder they are up to their butts in financial alligators. A lot starts to make sense now but several of us thought that their actions pretty well showed they were writing off this year. Looks like they may be prepared to write off the next couple. Sad!
Bay, I was thinking about something on the money issue for the QB’s. It sounds like Denver doesn’t want to pay anybody their escalator clauses, Tebow or Quinn. Are they saying that even if either one of them plays well enough to reach the required levels, number of snaps, personal performance, playoffs, etc. the team won’t be able to recoup the money owed by the contract? If you sign a contract with an employee with incentive clauses, knowing in advance that the employee under no circumstance can ever make enough money for the company to cover their cost, Congratulations, you just signed a really dumb-a$$ contract!!! No wonder they are up to their butts in financial alligators! The long term effect is likely to be that veteran FA’s won’t come to Denver without a boatload of guaranteed money up front since they don’t honor their incentive clauses. I wouldn’t trust them.
Great game Willis M! Keep up the effort!!!
Great getting your 1st 100 yard rushing game as a Bronco!!!
