It’s All a Blessing

September 16th, 2011 - 3:38pm by Rahim Moore

Monday Night Football. You know what? Running out of that tunnel, I really told myself — it really felt like I accomplished something in my life. I was proud of myself because first of all, I trusted in God. I obeyed my parents and respected all my elders, and I worked so hard. I worked so hard to get here. So hard. Words can’t even explain it. So I was just thankful to be able to share that with some of my favorite players of all time. I’m sorry we didn’t come out with the win, but despite that, it was a blessing.

Seeing Brian Dawkins do what he does, it was great. My mom and uncle were surprised of how hard the dude can still hit. But you know what, you wouldn’t even know how old he is watching him play. He’s a great man. I love that dude. I couldn’t ask for anything better. Playing with him is like playing with Rod Woodson, Ed Reed, Ronnie Lott or Steve Atwater — he’s in that group. If I want to be the best one day, I’ve got to learn from the best. And I get to do that here.

My juices were flowing during the game, but they’re flowing for practice, too. They’re flowing for any game. Whenever I get a chance to ride for my teammates and loved ones, it’s always a good thing. I was blessed.

My first play, it was great because I came from the opposite side of the field, and I was moving. Coach always preaches to us to hustle and run to the ball, and I was running to the ball. When Von knocked it out, that ball was so small. It looked like a penny. I just fell on it. I was going to pick it up, but I saw big linemen and I was like, uh-uh, I’m gonna fall on this ball and be safe.

As for the day after the game, it’s the players’ day off, so I got to experience something else in my life — I went scuba diving at the aquarium. It took me 40 minutes to get in the water. My mom and my godfather were there, and they were telling me to breathe and relax. But I’m like, “It’s harder than what you think, there’s sharks below my feet! Turtles and barracudas, too, so don’t tell me to relax!”

I had to get used to my breath and breathing out of that tube. Once I got that down, I was down there for like 40 minutes. That’s something I always wanted to do my whole life. I was blessed and fortunate to be able to do it, just having a blast. It’s funny, I’m going to take scuba diving lessons in the summer and I’m going to get my own scuba diving suit and put the Broncos logo and my name on the back. I’m going to have my whole family get one, and my whole family is going to go, so then we’ll see who’s tough and who’s soft.

Preparing for Cincinnati has gone great. We learned from our mistakes last week and we’re capitalizing on some things that we can brush up on as a team. I’m looking forward to the challenge. I tip my hat to Marvin Lewis and his team. They do a great job and they’re hitting on all cylinders, so it’s going to be a great matchup.

We’re going to give the fans what they came to see — hopefully be blessed to have a win and just go out there and show them that we can improve every week.

That’s it. God bless.

As far as religion goe`s, there`s a difference between being religous and having a personal relationship and friendship with the creator, A BIG DIFFERENCE. I`ll take the Personal relationship and friendship any day with HIM, everything else is just WORKS. No thank you.

  4. strandoftds says:

Back to football. With Orton as our QB we flat out stink.

  5. baylinorcrush says:

Talking football, the excitement about predicting scores is down big time, so far I have only 39 entries verses 76 last week and only tomorrow to go before the deadline. But no surprise, it happens every year. specially with a home loss in our division to start the season, the novelty wears off with many at the first bump in the road, you still got like 36 hours, make sure to place your score prediction before tomorrow’s midnight blog time deadline.

  6. strandoftds says:

I guess losing goes with the bloggers being disinterested.

  7. strandoftds says:

Who knows maybe I`ll win. I`m playing catchup after last week. I feel like the Broncos. LOL

  8. baylinorcrush says:

And last week we had only 3 bloggers predicting us to lose, to where we already have 6 this week and it’s the Bengals, pretty telling as to the tide going the wrong way with the fans.

  9. baylinorcrush says:

You’re the only one with 24-16 so far.

  10. strandoftds says:

I wouldn`t be surprised if we did lose.

  11. strandoftds says:

    Thanks for the heads up.

  12. baylinorcrush says:

    And theotheredge has 16-24.

  13. strandoftds says:

Did you see that JJ is off of the PS and playing for us on sunday. I like JJ with our RB tandum.

  14. BeastFromEast92 says:

    2-6…….Give’m Hell kid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    rip their freaking heads off!!!!!!!

“Dawkins is like playing with Rod Woodson, Ed Reed, Ronnie Lott or Steve Atwater — he’s in that group.”

You my friend have the skills to be in that group too!!!
Don’t let them tell you to hold back on your hitting, all those guys you mentioned are true Headhunters!!!

  15. strandoftds says:

So he predicted us as a loss huh? It can happen.

  16. BeastFromEast92 says:

Hey guys I left you a cold beer on the last blog, lol.

  17. baylinorcrush says:

Yeah, that’s what I was talking about the other day, Fox will go to the PS before he goes anywhere else, but if the O line plays like last week it won’t matter whether JJ or anyone else is in there.

  18. BeastFromEast92 says:

Hey bay did you get my prediction:

    Cincy 31
    Denver 17

  19. baylinorcrush says:

A Bud Light I bet, haha.

  20. The Dane says:

  22. BeastFromEast92 says:

    An Orange Bud Light…LMAO!

  23. strandoftds says:

The Orange Can is supposed to be COORS LIGHT. LOL

  24. baylinorcrush says:

Are you trying to get on my bad list, haha/jk. Yeah of course and when you said you might be flirting with the Wall of Shame with that one, when this broncofanatic32 posted a 38-14 score I told you you were safe, LOL, you must of missed it obviously.

  25. strandoftds says:

Coors Light, Spiked Orange Koolaid! HaHa!!

  26. baylinorcrush says:

Orton, 38 points, even 31, gosh you guys, you are drinking way too much of that orange Bud Light.

  27. baylinorcrush says:

BFE, actually you posted a 31-14 Bronco WIN. Let me look back.

  28. strandoftds says:

LMAO, yesterday Dave Kreiger said on KOA that the last time the Bengals won in Mile High, that the Flintstones where still around. LOL. It can happen.

  29. RSH says:

    Rahim,

I am not sure if you read the comments to any of your blog posts, but I really appreciated your story about hard work, obeying your parents, and respecting the elderly. It was refreshing to read, and something our society desperately needs–people with attitudes like yours. Keep up the awesome attitude and hard play.

  30. baylinorcrush says:

    That’s right:

Bay,I’m going way out on a limb here, may even make the wall of shame but here goes:

    Broncos 31
    Bengals 17

If we can’t rally past last weeks poor performance and kick Cincy’s butt,we are in very deep doo doo!!!!!!!

BFE, don’t go predicting when you get drunk on me, you hear! LOL.

  31. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Glad to have you on the team Rahim … won’t lie. I wanted a certain DT instead but I still remember your combine interview that I really liked where you said what they can expect from you is the first guy in and last guy out and to put forth the effort and I am glad you were our selection. Looks like you truly love the game, humble guy understand its a blessing to play this game as a job. Glad you vocalize your faith, very similar to Dawk and I respect guys like yall, Tebow, etc doing that because its usually considered off-putting to vocalize your faith … like its uncool or something. Wish all Christians that truly had a relationship with God did. Almost every other religion represents more than us with no shame. Good luck this sunday. Still waiting for your first pick which might come from the hands of another rookie. Glad its at 4:15est so I should be back from church by then. Even if we don’t win (which I wish we do) … All i wanna see is effort, passion and intensity for 60 minutes. Our O hasn’t gotten it done in the past often sending u guys out there alot but I don’t want you guys to be discouraged … just do your thing … especially in the running game cuz they coming for yall. Have fun, God Bless. TRB

  32. BeastFromEast92 says:

Sorry bay,I forgot……..nah,just messing with ya bro, haha,I’m sorry,I know how hard it must be trying to keep up with all those predictions.

Blasphemy, strand don’t call my beer Coors light dude!!!!

  33. baylinorcrush says:

About his parents and his playing football, this is what Rahim said to CBS back in early May of this year:

“My mom has been through a lot … from drugs and also just strife. My dad was the same way. He’s out of my life,” Moore said.

“I thank Walter Camp for making this sport because I was a hyperactive physical young kid who had a lot of wounds and scars and I loved to just play.”

Moore said football kept him on the straight and narrow.

“I could easily be in jail right now or dead.”

There is always lots of things in someone’s past that brings a man to say 6 times bless, blessed or blessing in a one page article, and it’s a great thing it seems to be working for him, wishing you the best.

  34. strandoftds says:

No dude, what I`m saying is that the Coors Light should be orange and not Bud Light. Just saying bro. LMAO!!

  35. strandoftds says:

I`m glad his life is in order, 2-6 is a level headed young man, God bless him.

  36. baylinorcrush says:

I wonder what that makes my life because I never say bless anything, unless you sneeze, LMAO.

  37. baylinorcrush says:

Anyway, BFE, the orange bud light can must be in Tennessee only for the Volunteers I imagine.

  38. strandoftds says:

    ACHOOOO!!

  39. baylinorcrush says:

    Bless you son.

  40. strandoftds says:

Orange Bud Light-Vols, now I get it.

  41. strandoftds says:

Bay your a big brother, you got me by ten years of age.

  42. caramelloo says:

    Bengals – 20
    Broncos – 24

Decker runs another punt back for the game winning points. While the D makes a stand to force a 4 and out to close the game.

  43. tat2matt says:

Rahim, it is great to have you as a member of the Broncos, I love your enthusiasm, your playing style, and I hope to see you making plays in Denver for a long, long time.

  44. baylinorcrush says:

Yeah, it’s not for the Broncos, it’s like my orange crush, most people here on the lake think it’s Texas burned orange so they give me the horns two fingers sign when they pass by, but then they see Orange Crush on the stern and they don’t know what to think, LOL.

  45. baylinorcrush says:

Isn’t that what priests and the likes say, bless you son, even if you could be their dad? haha.

  46. strandoftds says:

Give them the Mile High Solute whenever you get the horns. LOL

  47. sndvl says:

We are all blessed in one way or another. All we have to do is be perceptive. Keep your spirits high 2-6!

    GO BRONCOS in 2011!!!!!!!!!!!

  48. strandoftds says:

    Yes father.

  49. baylinorcrush says:

Good one strand, I’ll remember that.

  50. millertime2 says:
