So far, so good for Selvin Young and Travis Henry.
“They should be ready to go,” Head Coach Mike Shanahan said after a practice that took place much earlier than normal for a Thursday at Dove Valley, with the Broncos wrapping up their work by 12:45 p.m. after hitting the field at just before 10:45 a.m.
“I’m ready to play,” said Young, who missed last week with a strained knee suffered in the Nov. 19 Monday Night Football win over the Tennessee Titans.
“My knee feels real good,” added Henry, who has been sidelined since suffering a partial tear of the posterior cruciate ligament in the Nov. 4 loss at Detroit.
Meanwhile, Brandon Stokley returned to full work after sitting out Wednesday’s session with a knee injury. Wide receiver Javon Walker also had a full practice, Shanahan said.
Running back Andre Hall missed a second consecutive day with a high ankle sprain.
“There might be a chance he’ll practice tomorrow,” Shanahan said.
Added Hall: “It will be all right. I’m going to hop around a little bit tomorrow. I did a little running today. It didn’t feel that bad.”
NOTES: Shanahan said he had not heard anything from the league regarding the outcome of Travis Henry’s appeal, which took place on Nov. 16 in Phoenix … The Sunday weather forecast in Oakland calls for partly cloudy skies and a high temperature of 56 degrees.

Mason, thanks for all the info. Just a quick question. How is Ben Hamilton doing? Has he gotten any better?
Also, does Sam Brandon have a chance to make a comeback or was his knee finished?
Thanks
Sounds like good news all around. I was a bit worried about Stokley, but sounds like he’ll be ok. I’d love to see Walker, Stokley, and Marshall all 100% on the field at the same time.
Hall will be fine with a week or two rest, and if oung and Henry are around, he should get that rest. Sounds like another week with no decision from the league. Is there any speculation on what is taking so long?
Thanks for the info and updates.
I have a question about the broncos that i have not been able to find an answer to. I am hoping you can help me! In 2003 the broncos had a punter in camp by the name of Mat McBriar. I was hoping that you would know his jersey number so that i can put him in my book. I hope you know, if you do please E-mail it to me at cdanorse@aol.com
Andrew Mason, have you any idea of how I can obtain one of those Jersey-sweaters? The ones that Travis and Selvin are wearing in that pic?
Are they only available for the players? Because that would suck.
Andrew, I have to say the pictures in your blog are great. They make your entries a little more interesting.
Mason that sounds great.
beast#7, funny you asked about those jersey-sweaters, i just that pic to a buddy of mine and asked him the same thing. i would love to own one of those, they look absolutely amazing and down right sick!
It sounds as if everybody will be ready to go for Oakland that is gonna be awesome. If Travis cant go I would like to see Andre Hall start over Selvin Young he looks amazing out there. GO BRONCOS!!!
I am excited to hear we might have everyone for Oakland cause I think to make sure we make the playoffs we will have to run the table otherwise we San Diego to start losing and we have to beat them in San Diego. I think we can do both cause we are looking good on both sides of the ball. We just need to limit our mistakes. As far as Henry goes I think the league will wait another week or so with the Sean Taylor thing the league has a lot going on. Hope everyone will be cheering for the chiefs this weekend. Go Broncos!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maceano,
Are you for real? You really think Andre Hall is a better back than Selvin Young?
I agree those Hoddie’s are sick! Andrew Rebok should be paying you to put those pictures up!
Are those hoodies available at a non-obscene price to the public? Nice. Too bad about Hall, he was a nice fantasy pickup for me last week and I was hoping to use him against the Silver and Black Swiss Cheese Line this weekend.
Nice to have Selvin & Travis relatively healthy though, can’t be too selfish…
First, I want to say congrats to Davis, Gradishar & Zimmerman on being semifinalists for the Hall of Fame class of 2008!!! How exciting!!… just hope at least one of them gets their chance to join the great Elway in Canton, Ohio. Overall, I think Davis & Gradishar deserve it more but any former Bronco in the HOF would be awesome!!
Thanks Andrew for all the updates… glad to hear some good news, finally. Honestly, I think we’re going to need all the help we can for Sunday… if our guys decide to show up in Oakland and slack off, we don’t have a fighting chance. I want to see our guys play till the end and not give up any TD’s let alone the game. We should kick Oakland’s little tooshie so there’s no excuses. We’ve got most of our guys back from injuries, very healthy so I don’t want to hear any excuses after the game. We need to go into that Black Hole, play smart and smooth but we also at the same time need to own that football field. If we can do that in Arrowhead, we can win anywhere!!! Go get ‘em Broncos!!
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!
I agree. How we can we get our hands on those sweatshirt jerseys?
Well I’m glad that we might have 3/5 of our team back.
We just need Walker full time and Smith Full Time!!!!!
Glad that both RB’s are expected to play!!!!@!!!!
Glad to hear that Walker made practice for a full time and that Stokely participated in a full practice today!
In opinion:Most NFL fans say that the loss of Darrent and Damien didn’t affect us game wise.
My opinion:
The loss of them two great players broke a lot of fans hearts, it broke the spirit of the Denver Broncos and I’d say for those who say it would not affect us that we lost such great people, I hope they can experience something we went through.
We’ll all miss you Darrent and Damien and Sean..
Also I think that if we never had them deaths/and all the injuries we have this year, we would have been a force to be reckoned with..
We were not in the game.We were not thinking clearly at all.
Which brings me to my next point of how Rod Smith called every player to his house to discuss things and get in the game.
Not only is Smith a cpt./leader/friend/player/mediator.
He served us Denver fans and players with support, he never gave up and I’m glad he told Denver we need to get in the game and win more ball games and play harder.
My say is that “THANK YOU ROD SMITH”
AND next year I wonder how great Jay Cutler will be.
He’s damn good this year, I just say give him a year or two to be the next Tom Brady.
I HOPE that we can overcome everything we went through, all the obstacles and all the faults and losses in both games and life to turn it into something in a miracle.
What doesn’t kill us Denver Broncos makes US STRONGER!!!!!
Thanks,
Cody Roark
i already knew things were goin to work out for us. thanks mason for info we really needed it…we taking it all this year
Great. That is good news to have that one-two punch, power and speed.
Im watching the Green Bay and Dallas game and I can’t help but bring up the refs again. I dont care if the calls are against my team as long as its the right call. Now of course its probably never going o be perfect. One aspect this year that I have seen prevalent though is blowing the whistle before the play is over. I saw it negate an Indianpolis TD in week 10, Denver last week and an interception in this game by Harris. It’s ridiculous…let the players win and lose the game.
Denver is about as healthy as they are going to get for this year. That offense should score at will. Hopefully the D continues to improve. I have nothing good to say about the ST’s right now or the decision makers. The highights and commercial made about “not kicking to Hester doesnt take a genius” is embarassing and says it all. Not going to stop bleeding blue and orange on that unless we make the playoffs this year. If we miss by one win….(theres just no words)
Go Broncos
I can’t go one more offseason knowing the broncos didn’t make the playoffs, its do-able, we just need to stop making dumb mistakes in the fourth especially…. The defence needs to make a shut out in Oakland to prove to people that we are the real deal. As for the offense, cutler is playing great and has offically played 16 games and with walker, Marshall, stokley, henry, and young theres no reason why cutler shouldnt tear up the raiders. Our offense is hot as it is, and now healthy we should be putting up 40+ points a game EASY.
Lets go into oakland and start another afc west winless drought for the raiders, start a 5 game winning streak that we can bring into the playoffs, where anything can happen!
I think the Broncos have a decent chance at the run guys, if you look at this season, ALL AFC West teams that played the NFC North got crushed, even the mighty San Diego Chargers (to minnesota?!). See, this weekend’s game between SD and KC is great because it either puts San Diego into a tie again with us or sends KC one game behind us (that’s considering ofcourse that we beat the Raiders this weekend). We will see what happens, but if we win this weekend, things will workout just fine for us.
we will win the next 2…..SD will lose the next 2 and we will be in 1st place when we face Housont…
looking ahead to the SD game, we will have 12 days to prepare for SD since we play Houston on Thrusday and then play SD on monday…Shanny should be able to come up with a good game plan in that much time..and enough practice time to kick SD A$$…….
Go Broncos
so does anybody else think the officiating in last nights game was shotty? i do and i dont like either of the teams that played, but the officials favored dallas in my opinion. ie; that interception that al harris had on the sideline inthe first quarter was a pick. owens never demenstrated possesion while making a football move. the ref said forward progress was stopped that being said the touchdown last week in the bears game the one in the fourth quarter where we clearly had petersons foward progress stopped should have been ruled dead. if nothin else they should have penelized the bears lineman for aiding the runners forward progrerss.(pushing the runner from the backside) that is a penelty, you can look it up. and the pass interference call in the fourht quarter where the reciver trripped over himself, that was crap. and the didnt call face guarding on that long bomb to driver in the first quarter when he clearly had the defender beat and the guy wasnt playing the ball but threw his hands up in drivers face, that to is a penelty. those are just a few, the colts chargers game the interception in the endzone and the inadvertant whistle…i jus think the officiating is sub par this year. Go Broncos lite up Oakland
Hey shelbo,
I agree…what about the Broncos game last week agains the Bears where we had to challenge to get that fumble..we won but got the ball at the 10 yd line where clearly we returned in 90 yds for a TD…plus Stokley’s catch that even the announcers were saying was a catch..somehow we lost the challenge…
the refs have been horrible this year….
Go Broncos
[...] Full practices all for Travis Henry, Selvin Young, Brandon Stokley, and Javon Walker, all of whom should be ready to play Sunday. [Mason’s Morsels] [...]
Hey Andrew
What time will they be announcing Henry’s suspension or lack there of?
2 things will happen this Sunday:
1. Obviously the boys win and win big!
and lastly,
2. Al Davis will still be the ugliest man still breathing.
Andrew, if you happen to bump into the Crypt Keeper come Sunday while blogging from the depths of hell, can you please remind him that we appreciate Shanny and the 2 superbowls he helped bring to Denver.
Oh, by the way San Diego…Have fun with KC you freakin bunch of bottom feeders!
GO GET EM’ BOYS
