Happy Holidays to everyone.
I wish everybody a happy and fun and safe holiday season. I will keep it short since it is the holiday season and I don’t want to take up everybody’s time.
Hopefully you’ll be able to spend it with your family making good holiday memories. I have a lot of great holiday memories myself. I remember being a kid trying to sneak down to open the presents before Christmas and always getting caught. Those were the good old days. Christmas doesn’t quite have the same excitement as it did back then but it’s still a lot of fun. I still enjoy the season.
One of the nice things about the holiday season is most people are in a good mood and feeling kind most of the time. It’s cool that everybody’s jovial and taking on the Christmas spirit.
This time of year’s a great time, but last year, New Year’s, we lost D-Will which I can’t help but think about this year as New Year’s approaches and as this season comes to an end. That’s something that is at the forefront of my mind — just a year ago at the end of last season, I lost one of my better friends. It was on New Year’s, so I guess this year’s New Year’s celebration at least for me will be a lot more mild. Not as much of a celebration as I’ll kind of be remembering what happened a year ago.
On the bright side, teen center construction is moving right along. I think that should be up and ready around mid-March or maybe April, which is something I’m really, really looking forward to.
I guess it’ll be Christmas when we land, so I guess I’ll go home — I feel like I should do something because it’s Christmas. I can’t open my presents because I live alone. It’s boring. You can’t open presents alone. I’ll wait ’til my parents come over and then it is present time and that’ll be fun. Definitely should go to church, although I don’t go that consistently like I’m supposed to on Christmas or Easter. It’s kind of bad.
I know Maryland plays in their bowl game sometime this week, so I look forward to watching Maryland. Hopefully they can close out the season on a good note. I look forward to getting back around that way at some point and imparting some wisdom on the young Terrapins.
I don’t have a hard time preparing for the games even given that these last two games won’t affect our season in any way. It’s really hard for me personally and I like to think that some people on the team feel the same way — it’s hard for me just to go out and go through the motions during a game. People are watching you and you want to represent yourself well. You can’t make all the plays, obviously, and this past game there were a few plays that I wish I had back and I’m sure that goes for a lot of people on the team.
But still, it’s your job and not only is it your job, it’s something that we enjoy doing. I enjoy playing even when we’re out of contention. It’s not a chore for me; it’s something I like to do and it’s something that’s important to me to play well and fulfill my responsibility not to the coaches and not even necessarily to the fans, but to my teammates and the guys that are depending on me.
Unfortunately, we haven’t always filled our responsibilities to one another throughout the course of the season. That’s why it’s turned out the way that it has. It’s been a frustrating year and it’s disappointing and it’s I think the most difficult thing about going into this last game is the season will be over and there’s nothing we can do. It will be in the record books as whatever our record’s going to be and it’s already been a disappointment, so I guess that’s slightly frustrating, but it’s also exciting to be able to get this season over with seeing as it hasn’t gone how we planned. It’s exciting to get it over with and get into the offseason and prepare for next year.
I still believe in the talent that we have here and I believe in the coaches that we have here. While I’m not overlooking this game, I am looking forward to starting the offseason program and getting ready for next year.
I think the most frustrating thing at least for me is I felt like we had the talent to be a lot better than we are. I respect and admire what Coach Shanahan has accomplished in his career so I think we definitely have the right head coach. He’s won two Super Bowls which is more than a large percentage of coaches in this league. And on defense, at least in the secondary, I really love the guys that I play with. We get along and we work well together, and Coach Slowik is the only coach I’ve had in this league, but just from talking to other guys around the league I feel really fortunate to have a coach as talented and smart as he is. He’s open-minded too which has really helped us in adapting our secondary to allow us to do what we do best which has been a tremendous blessing.
I look forward to next season and I look forward to hopefully getting as many guys in the secondary back as we can and playing for Coach Slowik and Coach Shanahan and putting together a much better product and living up to or surpassing our potential next year rather than falling short like we did so many times this year.
In the offseason I’m definitely looking forward to traveling and seeing some friends and family and taking a more active role in the Boys & Girls Club as I have been since Darrent’s death.
Well, that is more than enough. All ready!

Hey Fox,
Merry Christmas to you, Mom and Dad Foxworth and the rest of your family. I hope you enjoy your time with them.
We really believe in this team and feel we have a lot of talent. We are looking forward to a great season next year.
With New Years approaching, I am also thinking about losing Darrent. My celebrations have always been kind of mellow, but this year it will be much for low-key and laid back. I miss Darrent so much. I pray constantly for his famliy. We are excited about the teen center! What a blessing that will be to so many.
Thank you for who you are and all that you do. We are so proud of you, Fox!
Merry Christmas to my Orange and Blue boys!
All Ready!!!

-PARIS (#1 BRONCOS FAN!!!)
Hey Fox I would like to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas. Last night was rough but it didn’t mean anything but what really bothered me was Phillip Rivers…. he is a joke talking like he is on Tom Brady or Peyton Manning’s level he isn’t even a top 10 QB he is to cocky and the reason that team can win is because of their D and running game. I hope you, Karl, and Hamza will all be back. I also hope we re-sign Cecil Sapp. I hope we keep J-Walk.I just don’t want any players leaving because they are frustrated. I hope we smash on the Vikings !! I was excited when I opened my gifts this morning I got a All Ready t-shirt and my mom said that the money went to charity so that is good. I am thinking of D-Will and my brother Ant got me a Broncos hoody and got it printed “R.I.P. Darrent Williams 27″ on the front and on the left sleeve it says “24 Bailey” and on the right “32 Bly” I want to get Foxworth 22 on there when the store is open again. Once again have a Merry Christmas.
All Ready !!
Merry Christmas Fox! Hope you keep your head up this week. Have a great day!
your blog always gives us broncos fans hope for next year!!
A few thoughts and questions:
I hate P. Rivers and the Chargers! They talk a lot of smack for a team that hasn’t won a playoff game in over ten years.
What were our guys doing celebrating when they made a tackle? They were down by 13, make a tackle a then do some stupid “stance” with their arms closed. Then on the next play give up a first down or TD.
Do we have a blitz package on defense?
What is up with Walker? It seems like he can’t get open or him and Jay are not on the same page.
Watching Bly get burnt for a TD once a game has been fun this year but I will say some of that is the D-Line’s fault for lack of pressure.
What happen to our O-Line?
How come we never go three or four WR sets? I understand about keeping TE in or going with two TE but that was not working so why didn’t we spread them out?
godspeed fox…
i hope you are able to find the time to seek some peace regarding d-will. peace brother. peace.
we look forward to next season as well.
thanks for sharing…
happy holidaze!
fox, if we had 52 other guys on the roster with your heart and talent we’d be champions! hope you have a great holiday!
Fox,
I finally got to see a Broncos game live! I made it out to San Diego to see you guys on Xmas Eve. Despite being in enemy territory I still wore my broncos jersey. It was a bummer you guys couldn’t pull that one out but I still had a blast and am very much looking forward to seeing you guys again next year.
Thanks for taking some time out of your Christmas day to post to us. Best of luck next week, I’ll be watching!
Go Broncos!
-Chris
Dominique,
good luck man ,, next week and the off-season all you do, you make are team a better team , it seems as though we need to get some pressure on the qb’s to give Bly and Bailey a chance to do their jobs, also our O-line is not very good Cutler was hurassed all day and the runnung game never got going, it almost seemed the boltz were lining up in the neutral zone they were getting across so fast. take care I know Shanahan is going to make some changes hopefully all for the better. with Bly / Bailey/Lynch back there we should be able t o dominate with eight in the box… anyway good luc amd GO Broncos !! Shanny looked disgusted though very disgusted… that’s not the way we operate around here..Does the team believe inCutler or just themselves??? It’s hard to tell…
I’m not going to lie. The Chargers game was disappointing. Nevertheless, even the Denver Broncos go through losing seasons sometimes. Let’s not make it a habit going into next season and let’s make the Vikings work as hard as they can to procure a playoff spot. They’re a beatable team and Jay should have success against their porous secondary. If Todd Collins can toss for almost 275 yards against them, Cutler should be fine. This just hasn’t been our season, but when we maximize red zone opportunities and force turnovers, we’re tough to beat consistently as we’ve proven this season. Keep the faith.
Hey Fox,
Happy Holidays to you. Am I reading too much into your blog to notice that you didn’t mention Coach Bates at all?
BigPlay
Hey Dom,
All I can say, is Merry Christmas and this year wasn’t the secondary’s fault. The O-Line and D-Line had some very difficult challenges. O-Line’s injuries + D-line’s youth was no winning equation. If you watch the Chargers game video, our O-line wasn’t giving Cutler anywhere near enough time to perform. When we get Nalen and the boys back and with these young guys with a under their belt, we should be fierce and AFC Division Champs Next year. The chances of the Chargers repeating are slim to none. Our secondary is stellar and shouldn’t change. OH DOM, please tell Cutler to watch more film on Brady and Manning. During the Chargers game, the D was all over his snap count and would charge in at the right time. If he checks the D, not only can he throw them off, but our O-Line will see the blitzes coming. Happy New Year.
A day late but Merry Christmas Dom. I’ve been thinking about New Year’s and Darrent too man. It still hurts. From what I seen on T.V. and what heard from him on the radio I could see he had a fire in him. He a lot of spunk. Well Dom I’ll be pulling for you Sunday and I hope you guys end the season on a good note. PEACE GO BRONCOS !
Foxy,
Holiday wishes go out to you and your family as well! New Years has a different meaning ever since the death of D-Will, but I hope you find peace within, and still manage to celebrate. I love reading your blog because in a world where people look at the glass of water and see it’s half empty, you see it half full and we need more people like you in the world today. Im looking forward to next season, I know the team will feel more like one with off season work outs and then training camp. Again have a safe New Years and lets end this season on a good note, and beat those Vikings!
Love,
Ashley

Mele Kalikimaka!
I love Colorado. Lovin’ the Broncos, up and down. It takes a lot more than a football game to ruin my day. I just want to see some football, win or lose. But K some A on Sunday, Dom. I will miss the your final game this year. My best friend’s brother is getting married. He used to play for the Colts, before the poor brotha got hurt. He is an amazing person, as is my best friend. She is the preacher’s daughter, and I mean preacher’s daughter, a.k.a. wild child! Her brother coached at CU as a graduate assistant, but quit to humbly coach high school ball. He didn’t believe in the politics associated with college coaching. Don’t know how, but I have this wonderful ability of surrounding myself with the most beautiful people. These people are beautiful. I wish he could have played longer. He deserves it. Anyhow, the point of my rambling is the wedding rehearsal is in the afternoon during the Bronco game. And given the nature of the event, I don’t think I can be that sketch girl wearing headphones and a dress. Hmm, I’ll see what I can do. Ahh, but my sadness is remedied with the tickets he got for 30 of us to the Colts game Sunday night. Yeah yeah! Can’t lie, I’m pretty excited. Bring on the reserves baby!
Be safe in this snow.
Happy Holidays and New Year to you. I don’t think any Broncos fan will ever forget January 1. We will always remember D Will.
I’ll be at the game on Sunday, cheering you guys on as always. Its a been a tough year being a Broncos fan but I’ll never regret it. God luck in the game and I hope you have a great one.
Remember you talking about the youtube videos a few weeks back? Well I just realized that if you search for Jay Cutler on youtube a bunch of videos of some bodybuilder with the same name come up. I thought that was pretty odd but funny. You might have to pass along that info to Jay!
I hope you’ll keep blogging in the offseason! I look forward to coming here each Tuesday and reading what you have to say. Take care!
Hey buddy! I won a pair of tix to the game on Sunday on the radio! I’m pretty excited because I’ve never won anything in my life and I haven’t been to a Broncos game since the AFC Championship loss. I’m debating whether or not to make a sign but I’ll be there cheering you boys on!
do you like playing better when its cold out or warm out?
Fox,
You’ve been great all year. Don’t feel bad about the missed tackle on LT. You played it well, if you bite to much he will just cut inside and if you stay back to much then his speed will beat you outside. There was nothing you could do; he’s just one of the best backs of all time. Have a good and safe New Years. Looking forward for you and the team to raise their game to the next level. I still believe your the best 3 or nickel corner in the league. Great work with the community. Keep it up!
- Matt
Congrats on the win! it was so super exciting! good job!
