Quick blog shots for a Thursday …
… As was the case a day earlier, neither linebacker Ian Gold nor tight end Daniel Graham saw action in the day’s practice session. Head Coach Mike Shanahan said after the two hours of midday work that Graham would be able to hit the field Friday.
“That’s our plan,” Shanahan said …
… Wide receiver Brandon Stokley suited up for the practice, but was limited in his on-field work for a second consecutive day …
… Strongside linebacker Nate Webster trotted onto the field in a blue No. 5 sweatshirt-style practice jersey. Newly signed placekicker Matt Prater wore his own white No. 5 jersey.

Thanks for the info Mason.
Did Walker participate fully in practice today?
And what’s the story behind Webster wearing #5?
Please lose, we need leverage in April.
superchop don’t worry. Remember what happened last time we played SD.
Yeah, lets see if can keep tem under 40 points. I hope Walker has a bi game.
porkchop and sizzle how can you all call yourself fans
All that wins do now is cost us draft picks!!!!
Doggone it – I’ve seen enough fair-weather fans on this blog the past couple of days to keep me peeved for the entire off-season!
C’mon, gang – if you can’t stay positive, go join the Raiders’ fan club. If you bleed orange & blue like the *real* fans do, you aren’t satisfied with this year, but you don’t want the team to lose more games!
I would hate to see if we went into a rebuild mode – how many people would completely jump off the bandwagon? Fair-weather fans come & go — those of us who are die-hard will support the Broncos 100% all the time.
“All that wins do now is cost us draft picks”? No – all that wins do now is help start the 2008-09 season off with some momentum! We *want* wins – ALL the time.
Merry CHRISTmas, all!!
Time to see what’s left in some of these guys tanks. Who’s got grapefruits and who’s got grapes? I know the team is young and I think we’ll have a better understanding of the backups and rookies after the next 2 games. Do you still love the game when you got nothing left to play for? Real men stand up and dish out the frustration of a BAD season. Knock someone out D.J., help him out LB’s! Forget about always having to help on the run Champ, punk Chandlers ass out. Make your peers understand you’re the next great qb JC and let the rock fly. There’s nothing left to play for but pride and if you aint got that, you got nothin’.
hrdnokd AK-Broncomaniac Have said all that needs to be said. Tank it for a draft pick. No thanks. I’m NOT a chief fan…..
silly slop chop & cold swizzle you must not be True BRONCO fans.I think san fransisco needs a couple of fans like you.To want the Broncos to lose, shows that you are a loser and that you both do not belong in BRONCO COUNTRY! GO BRONCOS, beat the choken chargers.
You know,I just read wormyblackburny’s statement;”All that wins do us now is cost us a draft pick”. Dude where are you from? Not Bronco Country thats for sure.Yes this has been a disapointing season, and we true Bronco fans have seen some, not many in the past, but you need to shut up,support the Broncos to win their last two games, and don’t worry about the f—-n draft.GO BRONCOS!
The last thing this team needs to do is start thinking that losing is good for them.
The reason the season sucks as bad as it does is because this team did not have the heart to go out and try to win every game. To TRY to lose to position yourself to draft untested players, who may, or may not, ever amount to anything in the NFL, is absolute idiocy.
Whether it’s momentum or just the idea that the GOAL is to win, this team needs to play every game like it’s the Superbowl. That’s the difference between champions and also-rans.
This post is really for the coaches, because I hold them responsible for not getting their jobs done this year.
Well, all I have to say is that there have got to be some changes this coming year via free agency, the draft, and the coaching. First things first. Bates has to go. Second, Travis Henry can be traded, Selvin should start and Andre is great (who isn’t with this team), and for Henry I would try and get a great inside DL to help aid Marcus Thomas and also show him how to make his own game better (the rest of the line is young but good, and have a lot of raw talent). Third, do not get rid of ANY of our corners, they’re all good, they just need to have a better d-coordinator. Then, draft either a first round OL or ILB, depending on which one they think they need more. If it’s an ILB (which I think it should be, then draft an OL in the second round), then move DJ back out to the outside, where he is even more productive. Either that or bring Al Wilson back. I’d love to see that. Lastly, draft a WR for the third pick. Marshall was a third rounder, so there is some great talent to be had later on in the draft. Walker will hopefully be back so there should be some great talent with Smith (hopefully he’ll be back), Walker, Marshall, Stokely, Martinez, and whoever they hopefully pick up in the draft. The rest of the picks, who knows, but that is what I’d like to see.
WE SHOULD HAVE LEFT GERALD WARREN ON THIS YEARS TEAM HE COULD HAVE HELPED OUR DEFENSIVE LINE PLAY AND HELPED THOMAS A BUNCH LETS LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES AND MOVE FORWARD. GO BRONCOS!!!
Anyone know if Andre Hall is going to be back on kickoff return?
how in Elway’s name can you say please lose? I don’t care how high our draft picks are next season, I just want to win. What is wrong with you?
How in Elway’s name can you say please lose? I don’t care how high our draft picks are next season, I just want to win. What is wrong with you? nxtyrnvrarrives, D.J. is our teams leading tackler. He is tied for number 3 in the league for total tackles. I’d say he’s doin just fine.
Id like an OLB first round, maybe an OL or a Safety second round, i agree with a third round reciever, and we can pick up an undrafted free agent running back after the draft again.
We don’t have a 3rd round pick this year, we traded it to get Thomas last year in the 4th. I’d like to move D.J. back to WLB where he has more freedom to blitz and pursue. It’s not that he’s done a bad job, but I think his ability it being wasted as a MLB. Al Wilson was a A10 (tank killer), D.J. is more of a F18 (air to air). Either way another LB is needed and I like the idea of finding a guard in the 2nd round.
I totally agree with AK-Broncomaniac. A true fan. This season has been frustrating but I still would like to see the Broncos finish with wins. Go Broncos!
ENJOY LIFE AND LOVE THOSE CLOSE TO YOU
PEACE EVERYONE!

None of us WANT the Broncos to lose, but all of this crap about pride and momentum and “not being true fans” is B.S. If the broncos wanted to show pride, it needed to be 4-5 weeks ago, not now. If we win out, we possibly have to trade players to move up in the draft to get the guys we want. “True fans?” A true fan thinks about the good of his team in the future, not just about the present. Start the third stringers and guys that are on the bubble, and evaluate who deserves to be wearing the orange and blue next year. If we manage to win, ok.
I am a FAN but Graham was a waste of money. Henry so far has not proven to be anybetter. I knew denver should have never invested in a RB with how we find them in the late rounds. I think in FA we should get another good DT use our first on Safety then trade the rest of our picks to get back in the first for an OLB it will help with cap we will addres our three positions of need we shouldnt even look at the offense dont draft anything if u do anything trade graham and henry.
Graham is the man…everybody says he is an extra lineman out there and plus when ever he catches the ball its for a big gain or a TD..all be it twice on that…but the team hasnt had much consistency this season, give it time he will make his mark as a security blanket. Forget it bout Al wilson he is done…i hate to sate it cuz he was the heart and sole of this team..and was the best middle linebacker in the AFC his last year..but if he could play he would be somewhere….thats my thought on that…I just hope we stick together with all the coaches and young players and build a strong nucleus of young talent and build on that with veterans… hopefully we draft lineman in the 1st round..but if we cant then lets get Graves OLD from Auburn fast and mean..ready for the league next season..or DORSEY to pair up with Thomas and that young line…but please lets pick up some free agents on the O line pref. at Tackle!! LEft tackle!!
Please lets stop the bronco on bronco violence!!! We all just want the team to do what we always have since i remember WIN…Fan since 85′
i hate watching the game when the broncos lose. i hate it even more when they don’t knock the snot out of the opposition! i think it’s important win or lose that san deigo trembles when they have to think about playing the broncos next season! leave a mark guys! get physical! merry christmas everyone! go broncos!
Stop the Bronco on Bronco violence!! HAhahahhahaha…Post of the year rambo!!!!!!!
ramboskithefan, i think Dorsey is out of reach where we’ll be.hes goin top 5, maybe number 1 overall, and we’ll be in mid-teens, but if we somehow got him i’d be overridden with joy.
broncos need to win…to have some momentum into the next season… i couldnt get the point of losing just to get high on the draft, we dont need to be in high draft, since broncos has a system already, a mid draft choice talent then develop it to the system then you could have a great player out of it..
go broncos….
i need to know where to buy Bronco films… I am an avid fan from philippines…. please… help….
All I want for Christmas is a Broncos Win, A Broncos Win, Yea, a Broncos Win. Then another one. I can’t believe anyone would depend on the luck of the Draft. Yes, it has helped out in the past, however not to many players in the draft make a big impact right away anyway. This team has a lot of talent on it. A few holes to fill but there is some good athletes out there. The whole problem this year has been inconsistency and coaching Fauxpaus. Coaches are responsible for putting players in a position to make plays. It is evident that the Defense this year was not coached very well. Also everyone forgets about the mass injuries to this team. There was a huge lack of consistency. So do I think a draft pick is gonna come in and change things, No Way!!! The schemes are in need of upgrading on both sides of the ball. Maybe we’ll have to have another defensive coordinator next season. That could be bad news too. To many changes to often have hurt this Broncos team and orginization. I don’t have the all the answers or i would be on the payroll, however, Being a former athlete and a competitive person, I can’t stand it when people say just give up, lay down, please lose. Screw that. Win and show some freakin guts. Win because the off season will be easier to handle. Find out what your made of. Play on Christmas eve as though it’s your playoff game and the last one at home is your super bowl. Go into the off season, start addressing the problems at hand and get ready for next season. All players and Broncos personell need to do some soul searching, and bring back the winning attiude, and the high expectations of the city of Denver and the fans around the country. This organization is turning into a group of Mal-contents. People who are ok with mediocricy. This is unacceptable to me. As I see this progarm in decline for years if this keeps up. Build on the positives, fix the negatives, come to work, do your job first and then hold everyone accountable around you for their job. I believe thats the formula in New England. GO Broncos finish Strong. Call me selfish, but if your a winner, you never lay down and die. You fight to the end. Some of you fans don’t remember ELWAY. He never quit!!!! Ever!!!! To the many true fans on this site, I’ll be cheering to the end of the Broncos season, see you there. To you that are hoping the Broncos will loose, don’t bother showing up, your not needed.
Even though I am devasted that our broncos lost; I guess I should also be glad that I also have a home team to cheer for in the packers too. It’s not as good and thrilling as watching the Broncos win and make the superbowl, but it is quite exciting cheering for Brett Favre to have the same exit that John Elway did back then.
win or lose, gotta love those Bronco’s! They are the bomb! Gotta tell ya though, we will get a championship! Can’t win when all the golden boys are out with injuries! It makes the “other team” feel good if they can side line a Bronco! The Bronco’s have class and want no harm done! No, I don’t want the Bronco’s to lose either, draft or no draft!
Merry Christmas to All!
Having said that, Any one who ever wants Broncos to lose for any reason SUCKS!! Especially to the Chargers. I don’t care if they gave the number 1 pick next year for a lose. Call me simple but i perfer victories over draft picks. Speaking of the draft I would love to see us pick up someone who can help us on special teams. Someone “Hesterish”
Andrew why did we pick up another Kicker, Elam isn’t thinking about hanging it up is he? Also any word on what Al Wilson is up to. Any chance he could come back next year?
Al we love you man.
