The Broncos won the coin toss and will receive, so Jay Cutler will be first up in tonight’s rookie duel. Brian Clark will receive the opening kickoff.
A few other pregame observations from an early evening walkaround:
- For the first time in three game-day trips to Arizona for Broncos games, Cardinals jerseys outnumbered those for the Broncos in the stands. And while Denver followers are still fairly well-represented in the grandstands, this new building has given the Big Red its first true home-crowd advantage since the go-go days of 1984, when Neil Lomax thrilled Busch Stadium fans by slinging a slew of passes to Roy Green and Pat Tilley while leading the team to within a missed field goal of dethroning the then back-to-back NFC champion Washington Redskins from their NFC East perch.
- Long lines at the concession stands at 6:07 p.m. God help them at halftime.
- Thick plastic beverage cups for sale. A nice addition to the collection.
