Well Jay is a great player. I know he will do a Great job, Jake did his part, step down. Good Luck Sunday Denver.

Come on bronco fan!!! I'm sorry I'm not a Jake fan!!! He tried to do his part but when the game gets rough Jake always finds a way to choke in the big games!! I've been saying it for a long time that they should have started Cutler and was very happy when he was drafted because we needed a quarterback!!! I appreciate the things his done so far but it's about time couch saw the light and it was a great move. I'v been a bronco fan for as long as I could watch football and I'm 32 years old. GO CUTLER!!!! I hope take the lead and does a great job for all those doubters!! Alway's a bronco fan a heart!!!

Just a little comment here from a seasoned Bronco fan.... Since I was 8, sitting at the foot of my dad's recliner, watching the "Orange Crush", eating peanut m&m's, drinking Mountain Dew (the strongest we had in the house)(I always got favortism from my dad, being the only football loving daughter out of 5 daughters) I always LOVED the controversey about the Donkey's (term of endearment from my dad). There has very seldom been complete agreement ANY season that I can remember. I can recall VERY WELL the newspaper articles AGAINST J.Elway being at the helm. He also had his bad days and his critics!! I'm sure if you asked HIM, he would tell you that there were many times he was nervous if he would have a job come next Sunday. People were always screaming to put Kubiak in when Elway had an off game. Aren't we glad that Johnny wasn't replaced when he wasn't producing? This is not to say that I think J.P. should stay in... I have been struggling in my own mind with the pro's and con's> Plummer vs. Cutler. It's a hard call in some ways... especially coming from someone who moved FROM Denver to Boise (Jake's hometown)... seeing all the support from the people here (and I am telling you there are a LOT of Denver Bronco fans here!) for Plummer. It's a little sad to see him benched but "For the good of the team" I definately understand. My husband (a friend of Jake's and former high school football DE against him) and I argue all the time about it... but now the arguing should be put behind us as we settle in with a new starting quarterback, and give Jay Cutler all our support. Let's all give Cutler the support he needs to feel confident that the fans are glad he is here and we can't wait to be in the playoffs once again!!

Will everyone still agree with the decision if we end up missing the playoffs this year? I didn't see any of the preseason games, so I haven't seen Cutler play at all, but I can't see putting a rookie in when we would be in the playoffs if it ended today. I think this is the first time I've ever agreed with something John Madden said -- that considering we are still in the playoff hunt he would stick with the veteran.
With that said, I'd rather have a playoff team with a new quarterback than miss out with a veteran. I guess we'll see next week against Seattle and then at San Diego. One thing we have going for us is that the final five teams we play are all in the bottom half of the league in pass defense. And hopefully the running game doesn't leave Jay hung out to dry.

I have agreed with Shannahan's desion to keep Jake in until I saw how nervous he was looking before the game. Jake's consistency has been an issue since he arrived. When Jake threw that INT on the first drive I had a feeling it would be a long night. Later in the second half some passes where dropped and Jake could be seen arguing with Shannahan and I knew it was the last of Plummer. Football is a team sport that starts with the Quaterback as leader. If Cutler can thow Deep Accurate Passes to his wide recievers it will open up the rest of the offense. Plummer has missed many a big play and if the Broncos are going to make the playoffs now is the time for a change. The rest of the team had better take a deep look inside or BIG changes will be comming next year. If the Defense can't start to step it, Champ will be leaving. He was a one man show last week. The O-Line needs to step up as well. The NFL network commentators were the worst ever. My 2 cents.

One more thing.. Good Luck to Jake because there is a spot for him as a backup in the NFL.

I agree, there is a lot wrong with our team. And a lot of it is probably due to us no longer having Kubiak call the plays. Don't diss the defense, though. Because when our offense is not producing, the D has to work twice as hard and have to make the plays to win. If they can not trust in their offense, then they are going to try to strip the ball and hopefully run a fumble for a touchdown. The entire offensive performance can be decided upon by your quarterback. It is all in the mind. If the other offensive players can not trust the quarterback to make plays, this will effect their play. If they constantly worry about interceptions, this will effect their play. Cmon people, Jake Plummer has the WORST quarterback rating in the league...that means bottom of the barrell, number 31...how can you say he is playing well or that things are not his fault with that stat? I also agree that the running game needs to improve. However, it seems like our coaches abandon the running game way too often and too early in the game. Plus, the Bell's are not big enough to be sent up the middle, so why do the coaches keep trying that play? If they are going to go up the middle, they need to send the fullback. And they need to do with the Bell's what they did last year with the other running backs...change them up throughout the game. However, the biggest problem I can see with the running game, compared to last year, is last year we had at least one larger running back and this year we have two fairly small running backs. So, maybe the coach should have the Bell's switch time with a full back instead of with each other. Who knows. All I know is, they system was not working with Plummer, so let's see how it works with Cutler. I don't see us losing anything by starting Cutler, but I can see us losing the rest of the season with Plummer at the helm. And I love Plummer...I was so happy when they aquired him and it pains me to see his play so off this year. Maybe this break will help him shape up his game...who knows!!!

It is always tough to bench a QB with a team having a winning season and in playoff contention. Also, I know one player was not the solely responsible for the Broncos' recent losses. However, I do believe that the team has already reached the proverbial glass ceiling with the Snake at the helm. Most likely Cutler will not be the "miracle man" that people in Dallas are claiming Romo has been, but the Bronocs have the ability/potential for more with Cutler as opposed to the Snake. Shananhan knows what he is doing out there. I cannot believe that so-called Broncos fans can quenstion him and his play calling. As any knowledgeable football fan/former player/coach knows, the playing calling must be tailored to the personnel on hand. There are successful "systems" out there, but you cannot fit a square peg into a round hole. The limited playbook is a direct result of the limits on the Snake's abilities. I commend the Snake for playing to the best of his potential, but he has maxed out already. Cutler has much more upside, so although he may initially struggle, there will be many more plays available due to his talent.

On another note, I am absolutely furious with the defensive line. Our front 4 has been doing absolutely nothing for the defense. The lack of pressure on the opposing QB puts much more pressure on the linebackers and secondary to remain in coverage. I know I hate to be negative towards my team, but I cannot stand the play of the denfensive line. It's almost pathetic. I would say the Denver front 4 has to be one of the worst three in the NFL. If ESPN, SI, and others are going to say that the Snake is statistically one of the worst in the league and deserves to be benched, how do we, as Broncos fans, allow the D-line to get away without their due criticism?

Just my $0.02

Okay I will agree to some extent the both sides of the ball have been horrid as of late, and special teams is even worse (with the exception of Elam) but lets look back at the last two losses. First the San Diego game score at the half 14 - 7 Denver, Final score 35-27. So what does this tell me? I think that the offense is not giving the defense any rest. They go in there and go 3 and out. By the time it gets to late in the 3rd and and 4th Qtrs the D is tired. Who is to blame for the offensive struggles? Plummer is the leader of the offense. He is supposed to be the one they turn to. Okay so you say the O line is lazy, slacking, and the running game is no good. Well think about this with out a pass theat we become one dimensional and the defense can key on our runningbacks and force Plummer to beat them and he can't do it as of late. Now lets take a look at the KC game. Score at the Half 10 - 3 KC, final 19 - 10. Once again, lack of offensive production. I have to say the Defense did pretty good to give up that kind of rushing yardage and only give up 19 points. If we can't depend on a 10 year vet to produce a game winning drive why not put in a Rookie and at least enjoy the game. If someone is going to make poor decisions and give the game away it may as well be "The future" and lets get ready for next season. I however believe that by putting in Cutler it is not giving up on the season. It is trying to cause an offensive spark and maybe just maybe score more than 20 points in a game on a regular basis. Plummer made a good living on moving out of the pocket and throwing the ball so to say the O line is not giving him a chance and he has to move and throw well isn't that what he did so well last year and has now apperantly forgotten how to do it? Plummer is having a bad season why can't we all realize that and Jump on the train and support the Decisions made by Shany? After all he is the best Coach we have had in my Era. (since the 90's)

If we can’t depend on a 10 year vet to produce a game winning drive why not put in a Rookie and at least enjoy the game. If someone is going to make poor decisions and give the game away it may as well be “The future” and lets get ready for next season. I however believe that by putting in Cutler it is not giving up on the season. It is trying to cause an offensive spark and maybe just maybe score more than 20 points in a game on a regular basis. Plummer made a good living on moving out of the pocket and throwing the ball so to say the O line is not giving him a chance and he has to move and throw well isn’t that what he did so well last year and has now apperantly forgotten how to do it? Plummer is having a bad season why can’t we all realize that and Jump on the train and support the Decisions made by Shany? After all he is the best Coach we have had in my Era. (since the 90′s)
