I know our Broncs just restructured Henry's contract, so there is zero room for # 38 (unless he is willing to go to FB...again). I for one would much rather see Anderson in a Broncos uniform than Henry. I always felt Mike Anderson was one of the most underappreciated Broncos of the last 10 years. He bounced back and forth from tailback to fullback, played special teams (remember him being injured while playing on the punt team in the 4th quarter of a preseason game), you name it. When given a shot at tailback he usually excelled. Especially his rookie season, when he was the primary ball carrier. I hated to see him go, and I still think losing him was a lot bigger than people realize. I know he had that one problem with the ganja, but it was a one-time incident I think. If Shanahan trades his 2nd round pick I'm going to have a serious problem with the man. Foxworth is just as good as either of those players and a 2nd rounder IS NOT NEEDED to make this trade happen. I would rather try to pick up someone "solid"...even if not a star, someone who you can count on to bring a full effort every week...rather than chase a big name who will be great for 8 games and then completely disappear for 8... We have some good young guys and bringing him in for a rotation would without a doubt make us better than we where with Sam Adams, don't forget he'd be playing for a contract while with the Broncos since he'd be in his last, or second to last year with us. I recall hearing at numerous points during his career how he would be dominant if not for this nagging injury and that nagging injury. I did not say he has missed a ton of games due to the injury. My point was, whether because of nagging injuries or because he is LAZY and seems to only play hard when he feels like it, he could be much more consistent than he is. If he can't cut it in DETROIT because the coaches have problems with him not staying in shape...to the point they threaten to start fining him over it...why would we want him as a mentor to our younger players? We have tried other team's reject lines and it has not panned out. You say we should take a chance on him, what's the worst that could happen? What could happen is last year, where we are cutting and signing 5 or 6 d-linemen a month and our linebackers and secondary are getting destroyed. I know the scheme had a lot to do with that, but so did the inconsistency in the lineup. If we are going to take a chance, I say take it on some more young guys, and give them time to develop.
