Excellent coverage of the 2008 Combine!

  2. poorboywilly says:

We should draft Abdullah if for no other reason than I miss the days of seeing “Darrent Williams” and “DJ Williams” sprawled across their jerseys.
    :)

  3. Tlynch says:

Not so big on Glenn Dorsey, but it would be kinda cool to have two brothers knocking heads in the secondary.

I am starting to warm tot he idea of trying a trade for Vilma, provided he passes a physical of course. However, why is everyone eager to bring Shaun Rogers from Detroit?!? Yeah, he had a great half of a season, and he tore Denver’s o-line apart. He wasn’t the only guy to do that this past season, though. He has a history of injuries and a history of playing hard when he feels like it, or when a contract may be on the table. Let’s stop bringing in other people’s headaches…if only for one offseason…and see how it works out….

Vegasbroncos where did you get your false informaiton from? He has been on detroit his whole career thus he has never had to play hard for a contract yet because hes been under contract and is under contract for another two years. He had one season that he was injured in and only played 6 games that season, all his 6 other seasons he played in all 16 games except for two he played 14. So he was injured for HALF a season in his 7 year career so far. He had 7 sacks last year playing on the Lions defense which was about as bad as ours. If they can make a trade for anything besides a 2nd round pick I wouldn’t mind having him on board at all. We could give him a shot this year with marcus thomas and the others we have been using and see how it goes and always draft a DT next year. It’s really not a bad idea at all since he would more than likely be better than any DT we would get in the 3rd round, don’t forget champ is only here for another 3 years or so if i remember correctly.

Andrew thanks again for all the Hard work and great coverage. I would definately ask for a raise. ;) Out of curiosity do any of the coaches ever read the fans comments. Every once in a while some of the fans come up with some good ideas.

Lastly rumor was Al Wilson may be talking with Detroit any more word on that and have we talked to him at all?
    Thanks!

Broncofan1088, sorry if you misread what I wrote as saying it was a “contract” year. What I said was “when a contract MAY be on the table”, such as the trade rumors that we all started hearing about him last year. I recall hearing at numerous points during his career how he would be dominant if not for this nagging injury and that nagging injury. I did not say he has missed a ton of games due to the injury. My point was, whether because of nagging injuries or because he is LAZY and seems to only play hard when he feels like it, he could be much more consistent than he is. If he can’t cut it in DETROIT because the coaches have problems with him not staying in shape…to the point they threaten to start fining him over it…why would we want him as a mentor to our younger players? We have tried other team’s reject lines and it has not panned out. You say we should take a chance on him, what’s the worst that could happen? What could happen is last year, where we are cutting and signing 5 or 6 d-linemen a month and our linebackers and secondary are getting destroyed. I know the scheme had a lot to do with that, but so did the inconsistency in the lineup. If we are going to take a chance, I say take it on some more young guys, and give them time to develop.

Of course, with Sam Adams gone, Rogers may help fill the gap of too many players on the field penalties….

  8. Broncofan1088 says:

The worst has clearly occured this year already and without a solid DT it could get even more horrible. We have some good young guys and bringing him in for a rotation would without a doubt make us better than we where with Sam Adams, don’t forget he’d be playing for a contract while with the Broncos since he’d be in his last, or second to last year with us.

  9. vegasbronco42 says:

I hear what you’re saying, and I have no doubt he would be bigger than Adams was, but you kind of point out what I think. I would rather try to pick up someone “solid”…even if not a star, someone who you can count on to bring a full effort every week…rather than chase a big name who will be great for 8 games and then completely disappear for 8…

  10. vegasbronco42 says:

    Better than Adams, I meant…not bigger….DEFINITELY not bigger….

  11. jwalkbmarsh says:

don’t trade for Rodgers, he is just another lazy distraction. KEEP WALKER

  12. hrdnokd says:

I just read on PTF that the biggest rumor floating out there right now has Denver trading Foxworth and 2nd round pick while acquiring Robertson of the Jets while also sending Rogers to the Jets. If Shanahan trades his 2nd round pick I’m going to have a serious problem with the man. Foxworth is just as good as either of those players and a 2nd rounder IS NOT NEEDED to make this trade happen. We look hopless right now in free agency.

  13. vegasbronco42 says:

Looking for everyone’s opinion…The Ravens are supposedly releasing Mike Anderson. I know our Broncs just restructured Henry’s contract, so there is zero room for # 38 (unless he is willing to go to FB…again). I for one would much rather see Anderson in a Broncos uniform than Henry. I always felt Mike Anderson was one of the most underappreciated Broncos of the last 10 years. He bounced back and forth from tailback to fullback, played special teams (remember him being injured while playing on the punt team in the 4th quarter of a preseason game), you name it. When given a shot at tailback he usually excelled. Especially his rookie season, when he was the primary ball carrier. I hated to see him go, and I still think losing him was a lot bigger than people realize. I know he had that one problem with the ganja, but it was a one-time incident I think. Anyways, would anybody else rather have Anderson over Henry, or am I wacky?

  14. hrdnokd says:

Anderson was great while he was here, but he’s no young buck and we need to get YOUNGER on the team overall. I’d like to have him back as a backup, but not starting.

  15. vegasbronco42 says:

Very true….and I suppose if the team were to give up on Henry there are some nice younger options that would look good in blue and orange….Turner, Barber, Mendenhall…..

  16. vegasbronco42 says:

I would just love a chance to break out my # 38 jersey again!
