Hey Dominique i heard you signed a one year contract and its great to know your going to be a denver bronco even though you might not want to be here because of issues with playing time. I was wondering if you had any good tips for the ACT i got it coming up soon and i was wondering if you knew a website for a practice one becaue i do not want to do badly if anything i want to do great so i can get into the college of my choice. We just started studing the civil rights movements and about some of the events that occured during the 50s. I also learned about Emit Till and i was swept with overwhelming anger about how those men were just let go. We also are learning about the little rock nine and their stuggles in that school. And the law seperate but equal and i dont get why or how those injustices were commited. I loved MLKs speech on how he wished that his children were judged not by the color of their skin but by the contents of their character and it really just gave me a urge to go do something for the comunity. learned about Malcom X and MLKs different outlooks on how to get equality and i dont know which side i would have gone too because i do not know how MLK could just turn the other cheek but sometimes i see that he had reason behind everything he said but i dont think if i would have been spit on that i would have just stood there its hard to imgine times like those. The sixties were a period of change and progress for the nation and civil rights and even though the south did not want to change it ways it was forced to and it was a grear period of term oil it is great to be learning about those things and i really liked the subject in class.

Hey Dominique --

Keep up the lifelong learning. It will pay off in the long run...

If you are interested in the civil rights movement, the 60's and music, you have to read Just My Soul Responding: Rhythm and Blues, Black Consciousness, and Race Relations by Brian Ward. It is the best book I have read about all three of the topics listed in the title, all at the same time. It gives an intimate protrait of life in the decade, and the struggle for equality, but all through the lens of what people where bopping their heads (and shaking their rears) to.

Amazon has it here:
http://www.amazon.com/Just-Soul-Responding-Consciousness-Relations/dp/0520212983

I've had seasson tickets since the mid 60s. My job moved me out of Colorado in 1989. Like you, I requested taht the Broncos donate an item for an major auction our local Humane Society has each year. Like you, I was turned down because the charity wasn't local. There are very few professional organizations that will honor a request made outside their geographic area because of the massive volume of requests they get. I wouldn't be surprised that an organization such as the Broncos gets at least 100,000 requests a yeatr. At, say, $10.00 a pop, that's a bunch of money. Don't bother buying a Bronco item and sending it to be autographed. I sent a Broncos hat with a self addressed envelope to Rod Smitn c/o the Broncos and didn't even get the hat back unsigned. I also didn't get anything back from several other pro teams, so, again, the Broncos are not unique in this area. You're lucky, you have several close by pro teams to ask for autographed items. I live in Upper Michigan and the closest pro team is the Packer over 250 miles away. Your best bet is to go to some games of the sundry pro teams in your area and ask for autographs way before the game. Have an item you wish them to autograph with you.

Hey I am a huge bronco fan from texas. I am always getting mouthed about the broncos organization and everyone from my coworkers and students. I am a teacher. This year I am helping with a non profit organization Relay for life Cancer Society to raise money for my small town. I have emailed the broncos donation requests and was turned down because I do not live in Denver. ALl i am doing is asking for something for a silent auction or something. One to raise money for cancer and two to shut up everyone who mouths me for being a denver fan. It would be nice to get help from the broncos living so close to dallas I hate the cowboys. I have broncos everywhere on my house and truck. Please let me know if there is anything i can do to get something for a silent auction or anything. thanks

Dominique-

I like your blog and love having you on the Broncos, but I have to call you out. You state that you don't liketo let too many people know about your cravings for the History Channel, and then you put it in your blog?????? By the way, it is cool. I watch a lot of public television. Atleast it stimulates your mind instead of turning it into mashed potatoes.

Sorry I hit tab and sumbit too quickly without realzing whatelse I wanted to say.

Nice blog Foxworth and I hope everything works out with your contract, I enjoy you being on the Broncos and I think you are an all around good man and a classy one.

Take care of yourself and try to not wrestle next to any television sets after eating McDonalds and leaving the bag on the floor.

Dave 888259-

I know, I know. I get frustrated this time of year when a whole bunch is going on at Dove Valley and we can't be privy to any of it. I am starved for information and we get a feel-good story about the 60's.

I do really really hope we can keep Foxworth. We need Broncos of character who contribute to the community, even if we have to read nostalgia for now. Peace Brother

I am also a History Channel fan. I am also History Channel Club member and I get a magazine from the History Channel. I guess that makes me a history nerd, but I am majoring in the social sciences so I sort of have to be a history nerd. I guess I should keep that on the down low so I sound cooler. Anyways, I hope Tiger Woods wins the Masters. Go Broncos!

Domonique,

Even though I'm not a Coloradan, there are plenty of colleges important to me whose apparel I can wear this Friday. I'll probably wear University of Arizona, and Texas-El Paso apparel to honor the institutions which were in my LDS mission, as well as my Southern Utah University shirt because it's my alma mater. Of course, I also have Texas-Austin and Penn State clothes, so I have various options. Congratulatiions to Kansas, the BIG 12 is my favorite power conference after all. As for geeky networks I watch, it's all about the National Geographic Channel for me if I'm not watching NFL Network, NBA TV or a good game. Go Mavericks in the NBA! Anyway, Domonique, so long as you make plays for our Broncos consistently, it makes no difference how big of a geek (allegedly) you are. Yes, I think it's in your best interests to look back on the '60's longingly but not necessarily wish you were alive in that time period. Like you, I'm young and I didn't live through it, but I do know plenty of people addicted to the chronic from their experiences at Woodstock. That sucks, you have all those memories and all you have to show for it is an addiction that instantaneously leads to suspensions from Commissioner Goodell. Recent dabbling with the ganja may cause Aqib Talib's prospects to plummet, so it's a stupid addiction to have. Anyway, keep on being you, Domonique, you're obviously one of our favorite Broncos!
