Clark, Gordon and Cox Released

November 6th, 2007 - 3:43pm by Andrew

Denver’s players got the day off on Tuesday, but three of them will not be back at practice when Wednesday arrives, as the Broncos released wide receiver Brian Clark, defensive back Curome Cox and defensive tackle Amon Gordon.

Gordon had tumbled down the depth chart in recent weeks. After becoming a first-teamer in the preseason and starting the first three regular-season games, he was deactivated for four of thes next five contests, including all three after the Week 6 bye last month. Gordon logged five tackles in games against the Bills and Jaguars and ended up with 16 total tackles in his four games this year, but did not log a sack.

Clark, meanwhile, was waived for the second time this season. The team placed him on waivers on Sept. 29 — one day before the Colts game — then brought him back on Oct. 2 when it waived Domenik Hixon. Clark then played in each of the next four games, catching four passes for 23 yards and returning three kickoffs for 70 yards. He did, however, fumble twice — once on a kickoff return against San Diego and again while stretching out to try and score a last-minute touchdown in Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions.

Cox, meanwhile, was inactive for the first time this season on Sunday at Detroit. He played in 36 games — starting five — over the last three years for the Broncos, logging 26 total tackles, a pair of interceptions, two fumble recoveries and 10 passes defensed.

Denver also moved defensive end Jarvis Moss to injured reserve; he fractured his right fibula and tore ankle ligaments in practice last week.

The Broncos filled the roster vacancies by signing wide receiver Taylor Jacobs, a former No. 2 pick of the Washington Redskins in 2003, and three defensive ends — ex-Atlanta Falcons Josh Mallard and Paul Carrington and Larry Birdine, who was most recently on the Titans’ practice squad.

Carrington was waived from the Falcons on Sept. 1, while Mallard was waived from there on Oct. 13. Both Carrington and Mallard played last year in Atlanta under current Broncos defensive-line coach Bill Johnson.

So much for Amon Gordon’s blog………..I see we are trying to revamp what needs the most help but who on god’s green earth are these guys? I was a fan of Brian Clark during the pre season and as you know or may not know he lead the team in receiving during the pre season so I was excited to see him play come this regualr season but he wasn’t given a shot and now he’s gone…….I like the fact that 2 of these guys played under our defensive line coach last year so hopefully that means they are familiar with his scheme….that is if he has one. Let’s saddle up boys, welcome to Denver now let’s starting smashing some helmets and get fired up for KC!

  2. stand_ablaze says:

    Good bye Amon Gordon’s blog.

so much for amons blog :(

You don’t think that Fox, king of the blog world, was trying to take out his competition do you? haha

  5. ainokea42 says:

We should have never got rid of Courtney Cox & Trevor Price. Very bad moves. No one pushing upfield on the rush against opposing opponents other than Dumerville. That’s why we are dead last in rush defense. Speaking of rushing…What happened to the elite style of rushing that Denver has always been noted for having. The quote was always, “It’s not the running backs that are all that great, it’s the system/scheme at Denver. Any running back can come in & get all kinds of yards!”

  6. 77crush says:

wow. i didn’t see this coming. gordon a mild surprise, clark a moderate one, and cox a big one, particularly with lynch injured and bailey and bly banged up. the broncos didn’t even sign a safety to step up in his place. this could mean more time for steve cargile, who was a fan favorite in preseason.

  7. ChetCsCo says:

We havn’t even addressed are biggest problem. It’s our offensive line. there getting to old. maybe if we get some younger players on the line our quarter back will have time to throw and our running backs will have the gaps to run through. This was our problem last year and it’s back again.

  8. Anonymous says:

why cut clark? at least he was trying at the end of the lions game. sure, he fumbled, but the effort was there. get rid of sam adams or simeon rice instead.

  9. Mr.B says:

We got rid of Big Money because Amon Gordon was soooooo good; now he’s gone, Sam Adams has eaten another truckload of Quizno’s and we’re still being GASHED by the running game!!!!

  10. djabko says:

I really enjoyed Amon Gordon’s blog. I felt that he had a lot of talent. Cox was also a very talented player. I hope they have good careers. Its really too bad it did not work out for them. I hope this wasn’t the coaches attempt to fix the problem. Some of these guys were excited to play for Denver. I’m not sure many of the other mercenaries on the Denver team feel the same way. Well… maybe we can at least see Bell run with the ball again.

    Dummerville and Bailey forever!!!!

The league seems to have Jim Bates number. I hope that changes soon. Ever hear of the “KISS” principle? (Keep It Simple Simon) There is enough talent on our defense to run less complicated schemes and trust the players to make the big plays.

Only the players and coaches can say what’s going on in the locker room but from outside it looks like we aren’t playing as a team.

It’s time for the players to ignore those of us on the outside and bond together for their future and survival. We like to be close to our team but not if it distracts them from the game.

    BRONCOS FOREVER! Jim Kennedy

  12. jhildebrand says:

Wow! More Shanny draft picks are out the window. Glad to see we are shopping at the NFL thrift store to replace them yet again. It further amazes me that the youth is cut! This team is old enough. Clark was bustin his tail to make things happen in a blow out and he is rewarded handsomely for his hard work. Oh well, maybe we can bring in Steve Largent to replace him and if not Largent, Art Monk and if not Monk maybe Jerry Rice!

  13. jhildebrand says:

By the way, if Shanny really wanted to cut something he should have cut Sam Adams’ weight! The poor guy cant get on and off the field without us using a timeout and a trainer truck!

  15. doctorising says:

Yeah, I’d have to agree with the brethren above. Here we go again with musical rosters. Why can’t we throw the gauntet down and tell Jim Bates to get it together or get on down the road? His defensive scheme is so particular that at this rate we’ll have an entirely new defense by next season. And I agree with the “thrift store” remark about our replacements. Heck, why didn’t they go out and get big, fat Grady Jackson if they were going to waive Gordon? Isn’t that what big Jim Bates claims he needs? And I agree with the surprise at waiving our only other vet safety in Cox. Now we have two old, hurt, slow safeties and two inexperienced young guys in a system that has everybody looking like they’re lost on the field. I’ve never seen Ian Gold chase so many players down from behind. And where the heck is D.J. Williams? Oh yes, he’s following Ian after those guys too!!! And as far as our O-line, I really can’t hold them at fault so much as I do the defense. When a team can push you around like teams have been doing us since, ohhhhhhhhhhh…PRESEASON, then they can afford to pin their ears back and come after Cutler & Co. And in case no one has noticed, Jay is fragile right now. Ever notice that when he makes his customary mistake of the game, he’s useless for the next couple of series? He spent one too many seasons with Jake Plummer. They need to find a way to get his head screwed on straight soon if they want to salvage this season and roll into the playoffs like the Rockies did. Oh and the rushing remark above? Travis Henry was doing just fine…until he got hurt…like he has a history of. Now, Taylor Jacobs? Taylor Jacobs…Taylor Jacobs…what has he done again? Oh yes, that’s right, he’s been waived by the Redskins. Yes, yes, that’s very comforting. You know, I’m sure this will draw the brethren’s ire, but it really irritates me that Rod Smith couldn’t pony up and realize that he wasn’t likely to come back and contribute this season. He wasn’t ready before preseason or during it. So then he has Shanahan keep a roster spot open for him and now he’s not coming back and the jury’s out on whether he’ll be back at all. If he would’ve been honest with himself and took this year off, we might’ve been able to find another more credible reciever to fill his slot. No offense, I love Rod too, but I have to call that a selfish move on his part. Right now we’re in a world of dismay and hurt as a football team and it looks like our attempts at fixing it are desperate at best.

  16. elifreedman says:

Am I the only one who gets &^$$ed off when only 2 days ago the team gets totally manhandled, beaten up, and then they have vacation until wednesday. What we used to be able to call a defense is now looking like a bunch of practice squad players who are much less physical, and cant tackle anyone. If I were Mike id be doing 2-a-days until they hold a team to less than 100 yards rushing.

  17. scorpiohawj says:

bring bacc jake plummer…cuzz cutler just succs…its all shannys fault thats y they miss the playoff last year…

  18. elway07 says:

Okay, this is just bizarre. This is actually quite a surprise, completely unexpected. All 3 of these guys seemed pretty useful to the team - it just seems weird about Amon b/c I was just on his blog yesterday and now he’s gone, what in the world??? I”m not crazy about the release of these guys but I guess this is part of getting a solid team together. I just hope the new guys will be able to adapt to playing with the other teammates and not feel or be confused or lost, you know? I hope they can go out there and play like we’ve had these same guys forever and they KNOW what they’re doing.

God’s grace goes to these guys and all the best to them. I hope they can stay with the team, I really think they had alot of potential with the Broncos. I guess someone else on the team is going to have to start another blog, oh maybe someone like Cutler or Lynch - that would be awesome!!!

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!

  19. broncojohn in northern ca says:

We should have kept Gerrard Warren. Now he’ll be haunting us twice a year every year? Jake hmmmm…. we’ll see if that was a bad mistake or not. Only time and Jay Cutler’s play will tell? Amon Gordon had to go. He got knocked flat on his tush against jacksonville on the 1 yard line. I can’t ever remember seeing a d lineman laid out flat on his back like that! Simeon Rice is still injured. But we should keep him. I’ve watched him play in Tampa and he is the man when healthy. He is the Champ bailey or John Lynch at defensive end when healthy. Other than that I guess New England will cheat their way to another superbowl and possibly a perfect season? Great. Wonderful. That’s what I want to see. New England kicking another field goal to ….victory?

  20. bd2fc says:

Bring back Elway-That is the only thing that could help other than the COACH!!!

  21. bd2fc says:

The defense sucks-the offense sucks-its time for a MAJOR change!!!!!

  22. Dekreybroncofan says:

    Okay Mason,
Why would the Coach give them the day off after so many problem weeks? Shouldnt we be asking them to come in extra days… Could you give us a thought on the possible reasons they were given the day off.

  23. cutlerownsall says:

scorpiohawj is a freakin’ loony. Bring back the snake? no way jose. Cutler is way better than Jake in soo many ways. We need to think about the future, and plummer obviously isn’t in the big picture. Rightfully so. Our recent losses have nothing to do with Jay, i dont see why people are hatin’. Plummer is livin in Idaho somewhere, smokin’ herb, and makin babies with that cheerleader he had a fling with. That would be cool had this been highschool football, but this is the big leagues son. Too bad for all the injuries though. During preseason and the first 3 regular-season games, we looked like we really had a shot at winning it all. I’m just gonna try and remain optimistic, and hope that we pull things together for the rest of the season. Jay Cutler WILL one day shine like the baller he is, and show all you doubters that he’s money in the bank! GO BRONCOS!!!

  24. Anonymous says:

Great, now how about the rest of the team…I’m just saying 44-7 you know…

  25. vegasbronco says:

I said it before, and I’ll say it again…I am really bummed to see B. Clark get cut. Like others have pointed out, he busts his butt, and him and Selvin Young were still giving their all long after others had thrown in the towel. I really thought Clark would become a Rod Smith Mini-Me, with the way he works. Cutlerownsall, I gotta disagree with you about the first 3 weeks. Even though beating the Bills and the Raiders on last second field goals was scary enough (but hey, a win is a win), we got manhandled by Jacksonville.

  26. hbobbyt says:

Like everyone else, I really liked Brian Clark, He plays with a lot of heart and leads by example.

  27. heierpt: says:

WE NEED THE JAKE THE SNAKE BACK AND ELWAY THAT IS ALL TO IT WE ARE NOT LOOKING GOOD AT ALL.

  28. dazbroncos says:

Brian Clark at least tried….. i think Cargile and Hamza can cover Cox, but Gordon I dont get.. A draft pick gone and not given that much rotation and big $4 left b/c gordon was so good and he didnt ” fit” the system…

At least he got upfield….. forced that ball with bloke to change direction occasionally….

what about the bloke the Falcons cut…that run stuffer…he was oldish but could still play….. we took Rice so y not another one…

Grday Jackson was his name….think he went to Jags…good luck running up the middle there…

  29. LetWilsonPlay says:

Dude seriously… We lost 44-7… We have talented players on defense, Mike Shanahan is a fool for not getting rid of the problem THE DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR!!!
OMG! I could run the defense better with my hands behind my back, an eye shut and a parrot on my left shoulder. Do you see a theme here Mike two out of four games with +40 points does not equal a good defensive coordinator, and he keeps shipping out guys that have worked in the past and replacing them with people that don’t do jack. Enough with the freaking Nepotism! If you like the guy that’s great, go have a beer with him, DON’T hire him as your defensive coordinator. Get a clue & save our season now.
As for the offense, how about we actually do something other than rely on a superstar quarterback to carry the whole team on his back week after week. Jay has done awesome, his game winning drives, his ability to get better when the pressure is turned up, but the rest of the offense has been totally inconsistant. Marshall — Stop dropping the easy passes. Travis Henry — Run with passion like you did in Tennessee. TE’s stop dropping easy balls, all these little things are adding up, and then you give the ball back and depend on your totally incompetent defensive coordinator. MAKE THE EASY CATCH! RUN WITH PASSION! (try to follow Brandon Stokley’s example!)

  30. stand_ablaze says:

Bring back Jake Plummer? What the hell, are you stupid? Jay Cutler is way more talented compared to Plummer. Plummer just didn’t have any heart when he played football. Plummer would not fix our problems. Our problems are all over the place, the defense isn’t playing well, the offense can’t score points, too many turnovers and I can go on and on.

    To scorpiohawj:

Wow, first of all learn how to spell, second of all how the hell will Plummer help us out? He’ll only make us worse. Cutler does not suck, have you forgotten who’s driven us down the field for the game-winning FG’s? You clearly have no knowledge of anything that is going wrong. You are very pathetic, sir.

  31. WhiteHoss says:

Blah blah blah, fire Jim Bates…if he does, what happens when the next guy comes in? He’ll wilt because of Shanahan’s insistence on “his way” which is fine and dandy for a head coach…when “his way” is actually WORKING. But even figuring injuries into it, Shanahan’s stumbling like a 5-year-old wearing mommy’s heels.

The O-Line is banged up but even when they’re playing, I tell you true, they are built and acquired to serve the purpose of Shanny’s musical chairs rushing system. They open quick holes for runners and that works well enough to get the annual 1,000yd rusher, but even a healthy Broncos line concentrates more on the gaps and less on giving the QB time to target. Even Elway had to roll out and scramble much of the time because the Broncos always have a line that can beat the other guys with a quick surge off of the snap. But historically, they can’t hold up after that surge, which is why Elway, Griese, Plummer, and Cutler all ended up throwing on the run or getting planted in the dirt so often. Well, Elway could deal with that because by the time Shanahan arrived, he was already halfway to the Hall of Fame and he had more weapons to work with. Plummer came in expecting to have an improved attack from the crappy Cardinals system, but to be truthful, what he ended up with as an offense wasn’t much better except the Broncos had the running game the Cards never did. Griese and Cutler meanwhile have to deal with injuries and fading veterans and got picked and pummeled…main difference being is Denver fans have more patience for Cutler than for Griese (for now).

If you appreciate what he had to deal with when the line inevitably broke like a dynamited dam at some point in nearly every game (and usually with only one dependable target in Rod Smith,) the critics might look a little kinder upon Jake Plummer’s legacy. If they Broncos had sported a true pocket quarterback like Kurt Warner or Carson Palmer…don’t kid yourselves and assume they would have automatically done a better job. It’s an undeniable fact that Bronco QBs have to know how to scramble and improvise more often than any QBs in the league not named Michael Vick, Vince Young, or Donovan McNabb. A true pocket QB–perhaps even a legend-to-be like Peyton Manning–would never shine in Shanahan’s “classic” system because by week 5 they’d be in body casts and their dentists would be bleaching grass stains out of their teeth. Plummer rarely had more than two seconds to get rid of the ball as a Bronco, and the only reason he was able to pad that was by rolling out, which unfortunately resulted in riskier throws. Well, where do you think Cutler makes his mistakes? When he’s hurried or scrambling…just like Jake, or any quarterback who gets forced into lower-percentage throws because his coach can’t put together a good line to protect him. If Peyton Manning and Tom Brady had the kind of crappy defensive lines that, say, David Carr or Steve McNair had, you think they wouldn’t be having just as rough a time? But in Denver, the quarterbacks ALWAYS have that tissue paper protection and they end up throwing off one foot, or across the body, or with THE WRONG HAND (heheh), and it ends up as an INT. It’s the same old song with a different pair of hands under center.

This isn’t going to stop until we either get a new coach or Shanahan admits he’s painted himself into a corner with the third QB in a row and starts over with a new approach. Because if he doesn’t, Denver fans will either end up booing Cutler out of the league or watching with sick stomachs when he “miraculously” blossoms under another coach with a better-suited system for another team. Cutler’s got the tools, he needs a teacher. If Shanahan can’t teach him, he’d better learn on his own, but he will never do it if he has to run for his life every week. Eventually, the other guys catch you…like, you know, the Lions.

  32. hrdnokd says:

Let me get this straight, Warren doesn’t fit the scheme and Gordon earned the spot just 60 days ago or so right? What was the quote, “Watch the film” I believe we were told as fans? NICE MOVE SHANNY!! You cut a guy that when healthy was a beast in the middle for a guy that makes it through midseason on the roster. Keep it up the shenanigans Shanny, you make it easier and easier to validate you leaving Denver on the first thing smoking after the season.

  33. troyRider says:

I am not olny surprised by the cuts, but it would be nice to replace them with some talent. Jacobs was and is a bust, and who are the rest of these guys. How many DE that cannot rush the QB do we need. I just dont get 3 DE’s. Man it is like we want to get a high draft pick, but i guess we will see.

  34. HogBlog says:

I agree! Amon was good for the blog, but bad for the D Line. He should never have been placed above Gerard Warren or Demtrin Veal or Jimmy Kennedy. I think they wanted unproven youth w/potential. What they got was inexperience and a lack of talent……

  35. HogBlog says:

We had the chance (small window in time) to acquire a real DL, named Grady Jackson. He looks more like Shaun Rogers of the Lions. He’ big, he had game, he led team in tackles, he weighed a hefty 350+. OH yeah, he could get off the field before the next play was snapped and he could practice on Wednesday too! Why do we continue to keep Adams, and pick up the dead weight around the NFL. The guys no one else wants. Why dont teams come raid our pratice squads, you know why? Because they’re practice squad players….”HELLO”. By the way, if your really want to get true Atl Falcons talent, let me tell you, you missed the boat 2 times. 1. Patrick Kearney
    2. Grady Jackson

The rest will be revealed in the coming weeks! Oh by the way, do I dare say this???? Yes, I will! The Broncos are now having 2nd thoughts on why they chose Jarvis Moss rather than stay put, keep a draft pick, and take Anthony Spencer, who had been touted as perhaps the best pure passrush specialist in the 1st round. Dallas played us like a violin! Kudos Jerry Jones. That’s how the game is played…Pat Bowlen, take a lesson, get a clue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and the cutler thing I agree that he will be a good QB “sometime” but as for getting us down the field for the last min FG, He should be getting us in the endzone??????????????????????? Thats the only pts that will make a good team not last min FG. As of now cutler has not been taught that the endzone is the object of the game..
Don’t take it personal just don’t like people attacking other people when everone have a right to say anything they want even you..

  38. Broncofan1088 says:

Soo much ignorance on this board amongst the few intelligent posts. Denver’s rebuilding. End of story. If this lack of sucess continues in to next year, huge changes in coaching will most definitely be made then. Look at all the young talent this team has and those young guys will get better as long as they are properly coached, time will tell.

  39. dcurlee153 says:

When Jason Elam misses a 48 yard field goal, there are big problems within the team. Gentlemen, get yourself together and demonstrate the talent you have. Don’t finger point at everyone else. Talk to each other and fix your problems. Coaches, are you listening? There are more coaches on the field than Mike Shanahan, yet he carries the blame.

  40. Reality says:

WOW!!! What a well educated fan base we have, great posts!!! When you have put together as many winning seasons as Mike has, your going to have to reload sometimes. That coupled with our Pro-Bowler, Defensive Team Captain, Lead the team in Tackles, Al Wilson, being forced to retire, The results are what we all are witnessing. Next year the guys will all know their positions a lot better, and we will as almost every season, be on the winning side of the major portion of our games. This year, lets will ourselves to at least a 8-8 or bettter. Until then these are the days that make us the greatest fans in the world, by sticking with our Broncos, through thick and thin. I should know, I’ve been there from Day-One (59-60). BRONC-ON!!!

  41. ssalinas says:

  42. Reality says:

P.S. Ditto “1088″. The gems among the dung. At the general purview, it seems as though the rabbles voice is not that of discontent with “their” team, but that of an issue with parental figures, “Daddy never loved them”. Again, to my true brethren of the great white horse, for those with ears to hear, BRONC-ON!!!

  43. TwoNine says:

I had to watch that game on Sunday. 44-7. I have never been so humilated in all my life. Its the first and only Broncos game I’m likely ever to get to see, because I don’t live anywhere near Denver. I’m a huge fan, have been for years, and was so stoked to see the game. And then I’m treated to a complete meltdown like that. I can’t even tell you how sick that made me feel.

The talk about the offensive line is right on - but that’s the way the system in Denver works. If you want to pass the ball you’re going to have to roll out and do it. That works fine if the running game is going well, and if the other parts of the system are working. Cutler is going to work really work in here because he’s got a good head and a great arm. He’ll be fine. But this team should be putting up points. What the heck is happening in the red zone?! Do they call it the red zone because of all the Bronco blood that gets spilled down there? Every time we’re about to score some nightmare happens! And I have to say, that after being part of the Shanahan love-in for years…something is wrong. When I know the play to call better than the coach, something is wrong. If you are 1st and goal from the 4 yard line, and you are going to use 4 downs to try and score, you man up, run the damn ball 4 times and score a frakin’ TD!!

Our defense should be the high point of this team, with the talent we have, but they suck. Let’s face it, if you have Bly and Bailey and Lynch and DJ and Ian Gold…you should be able to stop some people, some of the time. Gotta be someone’s fault. Seems to be pretty reasonable to look at the defensive co-ordinator right about now. Also, if you get trashed by a score like that, you run yourself home and start working to fix the problem, you don’t take all this time off and hope something changes. And dumping a few people who seemed to be trying to win as way of ‘doing something’ is a sure sign that something is wrong on the staff, not on the playing field. The ‘we need better players’ messages that sends is not what I want to hear. We don’t need better players, we need better coaches. We have a lot of injuries and a lot of young players…some of who should be HUGE stars in the league next year, and damn near right now. Teach them how to play well, put them in a system that let’s them show off, and let’s see what they can do! If our defense is crap, its because the guy who thought it up is crap.

We need to re-develop that winning attitude that has always been so strong in Denver. Weren’t we 13-3 about two years ago? The Denver Broncos win. That’s what they do. Good players, good coaches, good fans…we have no excuses for getting blown out like that. Everyone loses now and then (unless you’re from NE and you cheat), but getting whooped like that twice in 4 games really sucks. Geez man, we got smoked by a team that doesn’t even have any cheerleaders! What is up with that??!?!???!!

There is no reason we can’t go out there on Sunday and lay waste to the Chiefs. They aren’t that good. They can’t score on anybody, so they better not score on us. We should be able to win Sunday’s game 21-3, especially if LJ is hurt. Generate some pressure, force some turnovers, and score from the dang red zone!! Geez man, I’m so disappointed in that game. 44-7?! What the hell was that??!?!!

  44. knuther says:

Any team that starts John Engleberger and Sam Adams is in trouble. Ian Gold must go! Nick Ferguson and Lynch must go! Taylor Jacobs couldn’t make the worst receiving team in Football (49ers).

The RAT (Shanahan) and Sunquist always have the same mindset we are one player away from the superbowl thats why they draft four players in the draft. By the way Ryan Harris is as soft as Kwame Harris a similiar player on the niners. Tim Crowder was never productive in college and some had him as a 6th round pick. Thomas and Moss might work out!

Where do you win games, in the trenches. THE BRONCOS GOT SMACKED IN THE MOUTH BY THE LIONS, JAGS. Did anyone see Scheffler hesitate on the play where the fumbled was reviewed, it looked like he was scared.

It doesn’t really matter the cheater Patriots are going to win the SuperBowl.

    GO BRONCOS!

  45. Broncofan1088 says:

Look at the lions, they never get mondays off. The coach gave them monday off this week after their romping of our Broncos and a majority of the players still came in to watch film, study, lift, and run. That is how players should always act, they shouldn’t be having days off every week and not going full pads during practice and playing chess in the lockeroom instead of studying their executions.
Give me a break this is the NFL, the bronco players are treated like royalty when they should be practicing everyday, extra long, and extra hard with the horrendous way they have been playing. That in my mind, can only come as a result of a coach having a complete lack of control over the team.

if i ever get on here again and see a fan say bring back jake plummer, im gonna kill myself! jake plummer was not the answer, very seldom do i watch a game and say, wow we lost that game cause of one player, but when plummer played, i think i said that everyother week! jay cutler may not be the answer either, but we need to give him time, and a line that can block! i like what i see in cutler, he plays hard and is making better desicions, give him time though.

    GO BRONCOS!!!!

HEY, everyone keeps saying, so what, look at the division we can still win it. Do you remember last year all the Broncos had to do was TIE the last game against SF to make it into the playoffs and Shanahan said “screw it.” What good would taking that team into the playoffs do. That’s exactly what he said. By those standards are you all insane to think he wants to take this team into the playoffs in the national spotlight to see Indy or New England as someone else on here said, beat the Broncos 350-7! No way, Mike knows this season is a wash, don’t forget he gives up early.
We have been saying for two years Mike has to go, there were some saying it before us and to them we tip our hats, there are more saying it each day and to them we tip our hats, but to those of you that hold on to Mike Shanahan…better start cheering for the Nuggets or Rockies because they’re both going further than the Broncos for years!

Oh how quickly your faith wavers!

I’m glad we have One who is more faithful than the Broncos, but to throw away a season when we are one game back in our division (which is not a strong one this year) is a hiddeous idea. Get on your feet and pick up your faith! the last time we got spanked we turned around and battled the Steelers to a Win! The Chiefs are reeling now and nothing would turn the tide in the West better than a Win in their backyard. Right now, the Broncos need some encouragement - if they read half of your comments I’m sure they’d want to play harder to perk you up - yeah right. Put your chin straps on ladies and ready yourself for a few Cutler Comebacks and a salvagable season right here, right now!

Wow, all the complainings.. If our team is that bad, I will gladly take your tickets off your hands for all you season ticket holders. You guys are making the Broncos sound like the Bengals of 1998-1999-2000-2001-2002-2003-AND 2004. If the Broncos are that bad, there’s only one solution to solve this volitile, hypocrisy, loathsome, and digusting season that our beloved Broncos are having. The Bengals were horrible during those 6 years and you know what the fans did? THEY JUST STOP GOING TO THE GAMES AND STOP BUYING THE TEAM’S APPEARRALS! Soon, they started having free games, started to change coaches (infact went through 3 of them), changed 5 quarterbacks, they were awarded numerous 1st draft pick. I don’t know about you guys, but I am sticking with my Broncos and Mike through good or bad seasons. Our team is young (like last year’s packers) but we’re not bad… Once Henry is gone on suspension and Selvin is in there then we’ll have a steady runningback at that position once again. As for all of you calling Walker a bust, if I can recall week 1 and 2, you studs were the same ones calling him amongs the best names in football!

I can’t believe this team! To lose a game is one thing, but to look like you
just don’t care is another! Elway, Atwater, S Sharpe, T Davis, and all the
guys from the super bowl teams and earlier teams, can’t be happy. Not because of the loses, but the attitude and commitment is nowhere to be found. Look the offense is lost and the defense just well I can’t figure them out. Is this because they don’t have any idea of what it is they are doing?
I don’t think so. We have to get back to the basics run the ball and it will set up the pass. Jay has a great arm but running the ball is what this team is known for. So lets start running more and the passing game will be there. O-line has to create the lanes and pass protect! Defense has to tackle and put the pressure on thequarter back.
