Broncos-Titans Pregame: Henry Out; Lynch Active

November 19th, 2007 - 5:26pm by Andrew

As the grandstands begin to fill here in downtown Denver, we got the official word that Travis Henry is out for tonight’s game with the Tennessee Titans, making it two straight games and three of the last four on the sidelines for the former Titans running back.

Selvin Young is expected to start in Henry’s place.

Also among the inactives are cornerback Jeff Shoate, fullback Paul Smith, guard Isaac Snell, defensive ends Larry Birdine and Paul Carrington and wide receiver Javon Walker. Quarterback Darrell Hackney is inactive, but in uniform as the emergency No. 3 quarterback.

Coincidentally, Snell and Birdine are also former Titans; both were on their practice squad before being signed directly to the Broncos’ 53-man roster in the last few weeks.

John Lynch returns and is expected to start, and fullback/running back Mike Bell is back in uniform for the first time since a concussion sidelined him beginning with the loss at Indianapolis on Sept. 30. Bell missed two games with the concussion and was a healthy scratch for the four games following the Week 6 bye.

Also, from the Titans sideline, defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is out; he did not pracitce at all last week.

Whatever happened to our fullbacks, seems like we never have one on the field and they’re always injured. Is it just me because of the fact that cba and fox only air raiders or chargers and packers games here in CA?

SBBB – From what I’ve seen we use more 2 tight end sets than fullback sets…

Is anyone else dredding this broadcast team as much as me. The Green Bay game was horrible. Also, I doubt you do but Andrew do you have a feeling on what is going to happen to Henry? Either way it will nice for it to be over.

boyTroy – I agree with you, it’ll be nice to be done with it. If you play with fire…

    SBBB -

Yes, they are using fewer fullback sets. The Jax game if I recall correctly Graham acted as fullback most of the time they had one. When they have, Sapp has usually been the only one that has been healthy/active, and thus has been the primary fullback.

I’ve noted that the bread and butter Plummer to Johnson goal-line rollout has been run with Sapp (dropped it once, caught it once), and a modified version with the TE with Nate Jackson, and I think that was Graham’s TD as well?
