Travis Henry is out, but Champ Bailey is set to go for tonight’s game against the Green Bay Packers.
Bailey, who did not practice Friday after being limited in the Wednesday and Thursday sessions last week, was deemed ready to go and was moved to the active roster for the first time since straining a quadriceps muscle on Oct. 7 against San Diego.
Henry, meanwhile, will miss his first game since joining the Broncos with bruised ribs that he incurred in the Sunday Night Football win over the Pittsburgh Steelers eight days ago.
Selvin Young is expected to start in Henry’s place. Andre Hall, the third-teamer who was inactive last week, is in uniform tonight. Also of note in the backfield is the decision to deactivate fullback Mike Bell, leaving the Broncos with Young, Hall and Cecil Sapp as the only backs in uniform.
With Bailey ready, cornerback Jeff Shoate was deactivated.
Joining Henry, Bell and Shoate on the inactive list are safety Hamza Abdullah, defensive tackle Amon Gordon, offensive lineman Isaac Snell, wide receiver Javon Walker and defensive end Jarvis Moss.
Simeon Rice returns to the active 45-man roster after being down the last two weeks.

Thank goodness we have Bailey! That will help a lot against Favre, especially since Bailey shouldn’t have to worry about GB’s horrendous running attack at all. With Henry not practicing Wed, Thurs, Fri I didn’t expect him to come in. Hopefully Selvin and Andre pick up the slack (I think they will….I just wish I had had the guts to play Young on my fantasy team….)
Hey Andrew,
Thanks for the update. However, do you know why Jarvis Moss as deactivated tonight? Was it an injury or just they felt they wanted to give someone else his active spot tonight, ie rice?
So henry to do enough to kill the pain, huh? That is out of character.
Is medicinal marijuana approved by the NFL? Maybe Travis can get his lawyers to look into it so he can suit up tonight.
I haven’t heard anything … hadn’t heard that Moss wasn’t healthy … maybe they just want to get Simeon Rice some more playing time.
With the RB situation, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a decent dose of Sapp in the running game. If we had another option at FB I wouldn’t be surprised if Sapp started this game at RB (even with the “depth chart” as it currently is), but we don’t, so I don’t. He will get some runs though.
Sorry if you’ve answered this, but Andrew (or others), Gordon has been deactivated recently mainly due to his performance vs. the performance of Marcus Thomas, not due to injury or discipline or anything?
Jarvis Moss not in?? At least he wants to play, unlike Simeon “too good” Rice. Moss wants to help the team, give him a chance, that seems ludacris. Good luck broncos!!!! 2 more sacks for Dumervil, and he’s tied for the league lead!!!!!
I can’t believe they deactivated Jarvis Moss. He is a hustler. Why did’nt they sitout Sam “60 seconds to leave the field” Adams? The #1 pick sits? go figure…..
Since Henry’s inactive for the game lets make sure he’s not active doing “extracurricual” activities. Namely getting Rocky Mountin High, and providing pee-wee leagues with a fresh depth chart of RB’s.
Mason,
Why on earth is Jarvis Moss inactive?
Wow. What a great friggin game. Thank god we had the 2 best CB’s in the league to give up long touchdown plays to lose it. That was beautiful. I guess Champ and Dre were focusing on the run…….BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I can accept the fact that Champ got beat seeing that he’s not at 100%. However, Bly getting beat on that final play is unacceptable. He gets beat deep way too often. And what’s with Mike’s play calling. A quarterback sneak on that 3rd down play near the end of the game was a terrible call. A where was the pressure from the D-line last night? I really can’t believe what I’m seeing.
Some one please slap bates, do something please, Green Bay rushing for 102 yards???? Good job…. And will some one else please tell shanny to stop thinking when he gets in the red zone. he is trying to out think him self when he gets down there. just run the plays that work, let cutler pass on first and second down.
