It is very troubling. Hope the coaches have all the wrinkles and kinks ironed out by the 9th. Warren? Henry? Rod? Al? Eb? 5 great guy down for the count. That is a lot of men!!! Hope the rookies stand up and step up!

I didn't even watch the game (didn't get shown on any of my TV channels) but it sounds like the same thing that happened last week against SF. The center of that D-Line was porous. And the whole getting used to the scheme thing is now beginning to sound like bad excuse. Too, I can't help but wondering if the loss of Al Wilson's leadership and presence is somehow affecting the D. I know he probably wouldn't be playing right now, but sometimes presence is enough to raise the level of play. So now it stands like this: We traded for potentially the best defensive secondary in the NFL, but lost the run stopping part of our D? Nobody will have to throw against us. And wait until San Diego & Kansas City come to town. Troubling this is, very troubling. Can't wait to hear what Shanahan and Bates have to say about this...

Russ.....I completely agree, not a stellar showing overall, certainly some things to work on, but then again this is why there is a preseason. It certainly hasn't been a very good historical indicator of regular season success.

Even though its the preseason the 1st team defense is trying to work their kinks out...and even in Bates system I cant see some of our personale fitting in place

The main goal is to stop the run w/ the D-line and its looking worst than last year...they're just not getting enough push to allow the LBs to cover their gaps and make the easy play
