Bummer. Broncos are on their way to 8-8 and an AFC West crown!

  2. delux304 says:

ALL i have to say is wait till that one guy, “LET PLUMMER PLAY” here’s about this….

  3. d4rkchyld says:

Cutler did better than i thought he would…but doesn’t it seem as if he has tunnel vision? He needs to learn to take what the defense gives him and we’ll score more…

He missed Marshall & Stokely wide open on seperate drives for scoring opportunities. I’m a little worried, because one of the strengths that Shanahan points to in Jay is that he never makes the same mistakes twice. Well… it’s week 4 and the kid still isn’t checking down. Personally, I don’t think we have any real major issues on offense, but I do fear that Jay’s gunslinger mentality is limiting the effectiveness of our West Coast offense.

Basically what i’m trying to say is…

It’s just as bad to continually miss the wide open man (four weeks in a row we’ve had drives stall because of forced throws into multiple defenders), as it to make the same mistake twice.

On another note entirely…i think our defensive guys are pressing a bit, and as a result, they’re playing too aggressively, in an effort to quiet the critics. If you ask me, I think Shanny needs to give the D Tuesday off. Regroup on Wednesday and just play ball…

    d4rkchyld out…

Unfortunately, I was unable to see the game until the last few minutes of the third quarter through the end. Sounded like it was a pretty good game until the interception. Nice that the O-line only allowed one sack, and they certainly must have done pretty well in run blocking. Looks like kick and punt coverage did a lot better today. I was disappointed that we didn’t get any sacks on Peyton, I’m sure Dumervil, Rice, and Moss were licking their chops for that. The thing that REALLY disappointed me, though, was seeing the Broncos get absoluetly GASHED in the running game. Even when the entire stadium knew a run was coming, we could only hold em to 4 yards. Mason, perhaps you can enlighten me, what IS the “scheme” Bates dismantled our once-run-stopping d-line for? Do you think the starting DTs were benched by Shannahan or Bates, and if it was Shannahan, do you think he is as sick of getting run over as the fans are?

  5. delux304 says:

heres the deal…………Our offense isnt that good. We dont score! And when there’s pressure or when we are playing from behind, we suck. Those field goals the other weeks back was a fluke. And our defense is wose than our offense. Not that I know it all or anything but I do know a few things:

    1. Ian Gold cant Tackle.

    2. Webster plays like a chicken with no head. He just goes diving into players head first hoping they fall over him. No wrap at all.

    3. Henry runs hard but plays soft. After every play he gets up limping.

    4. Cutler sits on the sidelines with NO PASSION. He doesnt look over the plays. He doesnt talk on the phone with the o-coordinators. He doesnt fire up the team. He just goes into the offense and slings away.

    5. Foxworth……even though he has cool blogs, he gets worked everytime he is in the game. And Peyton just loves it.

    6. Its a shame that our start player, plays cornerback, some linebacker, some safety, and not to mention kick off team.

    7. And lastly special teams…lets start with Hixon. Complete joke. maybe he doesnt get blocks, but try someone who can run a whole lot faster and wants to score. Saurbraun can kick 65 yard punts but can get a touchback to save his life.

I know I sound like someone who’s not a Bronco fan, but believe me, Im going on 12 plus years with this team and I live in Los angeles. Even in the Griese Era….i never felt like abandoning ship and quitting during a game. The jaguars and the Colts just rolled us.

SORRY guys but Im hopeless!! I can hear it now…. come monday at work.

  6. elway07 says:

I didn’t get to see the game at all but we really need to work on red zone offense. it’s like once we get in that red area we freeze up, we make small pointless plays, like 5 yrds then 2 yrds, just go ALL THE WAY!!! AHHH… it’s weird but also very frustrating. I was able to watch the game play by play on nfl.com so everything wasn’t too terrible, we could have done alot worse.
I really hate to say this, and i mean I really hate saying this b/c I live in KC, but if we don’t start coming together as a team we’re gonna end up playing like the Chiefs. They got lucky in both of their wins, kind of like we did with our first 2 reg. season games. It is essential we play as a team, it’s not called the Jay Cutler team or John Lynch team, it’s called the Broncos. They all play or coach under one name and that’s how we should play… for the Broncos not for themselves. The last thing we need is someone’s big ego getting in the way.

And speaking of which, Lynch & Walker better be back for San Diego, otherwise we’re toast AGAIN!!! We can beat them & we should play the whole game just like we did in the 1st quarter of this game. We played very smart, we had that first quarter all to ourselves & then somewhere it went sour. We have the potential, we have the talent — here’s a tip: USE IT!! We have the makings for a GREAT team, like we did in ‘97 possibly even better.
I’m still keeping my spirits high even though I knew a loss was coming our way today. This loss should encourage them to play harder & better, not think negative & come back to Denver and play like they don’t care. I know they care, I know they want to win. We just need to work on everything seperately & then combine it all together to make one great football team. I’m standing by my Broncos firm & strong… GO BRONCOS!!

  7. letplummerplay says:

Geez, we’re so esatic that our predictions keep coming true, we don’t even know what to say. Actually, as the LPP staff watched the game, believe it or not, there’s more than 2 of us that actually write and believe this stuff, we started to become a bit bummed. Bummed that this is reality. Bummed that our once competitive team, who was able to beat THEEEE ALMIGHTY Pats in the playoffs, able to challenge INDY down to the wire with a 34-31 game now is just another crappy team. As the season progresses you will come to see, CUTLER has no passion, no umph, no desire or KNOW HOW to win. He is simply used to doing ok, and collecting a check. JAKE HAD A PASSION TO WIN, check the record, 39-15. Now Jay has slipped right back into college mentality with his PROFESSIONAL LOSING RECORD. You say its not JAY

  8. letplummerplay says:

Anyway you say it’s not Jay? Well here he is at 4-5, the record he is used to, a losing one. Jay Cutler = Play ok, get a few stats, and make sure not to do enough to win, and DEFINATELY make sure your team thinks you have no passion as you sit there on the bench with your PUMPKIN PIE hair-do!
You cannot just have a strong arm in football to be a great QB. You have to be a LEADER….all Jay knows how to do is lead teams into BELOW .500 records. Someone above said Denver finishes at 8-8, yeah if their lucky. ANd now we have to worry about SAN DIEGO taking out their agression on Denver and the Steelers simply out-hearting this HEARTLESS Denver team.

Believe me, the team misses Jake’s LEADERSHIP!

  9. buck27 says:

Denver needs to fire their defensive cordinator and hire someone who knows what the hell is going on. The Broncos defensive couldn’t stop anybody. What is up with rushing over 150 yards a game against this terrible defense. They apply no pressure at all on opposing quarterbacks.

  10. letplummerplay says:

buck27, the BRONCOS already FIRED their defensive coordinator and now he’s at Tampa Bay boasting a 3-1 record.

You guys will all slowly start to realize Shanahan is not a Master Mind. He is a good coach that lost his edge the minute Elway retired. Kubiak gone, Coyer gone, Plummer gone…..

MIKE it’s time for you to move on, let someone else come in and take over ,maybe Pete Carrol!

  11. buck27 says:

To bad we couldn’t clone Champ Bailey and have 11 of him on the defensive. He is the only guy out there that has heart. Foxworth, what a joke and the linebackers, well what linebackers. What about this 300 plus defensive line, well they are being pushed all over the place and the only thing they probably stop is the guy tryiing to steal their next meal. Jay Cutler, this guy has no heart. He throws more interception than touchdowns, but I guess he has had a least 1 interception in his last 7 out of 8 starts. Not bad.

  12. underdog8 says:

The criticism of the Broncos defense so far is valid, though it’s still early, but they definitely need to pick it up, but the cirticism of Cutler is ridiculous. The guy’s only in his first full season. He’s more impressive than Leinart by far and is still learning. I can’t believe the pining for Jake Plummer. I liked the guy but he was constantly making stupid passes and never lead the Broncos anywhere - and he’s a veteran! I hope people can be more patient with cutler because he’s going to be a great QB. He’s basically a rookie though.

They have a good running game too. Their D needs to step it up, and soon, though.

  13. buck27 says:

Plummer could not win the big game, he was a choker. Just take the game against Pittsburgh, he threw that game away. I know they fired their defensive cordinator from last year. Their defensive is the worst defensive I have seen in a long time.
Shannahan I agree has lost it, he is backwards with his play calling. Pete Carol, well I don’t know about that either. I wish they would have never let Kubiak go and Coyer, they should have fired Shanahan and hired Kubiak as head coach.

  14. archangel77 says:

First a note to Mr. Mason!

I don’t always agree with you about your thinking as to what the Broncos may be doing or how they may be going about solving a problem but I must admit with no doubt what so ever that you know football! Your blog today regarding the colts red-zone offense was so right on it was almost uncanny. And I quote “5:16 P.M. EDT: Third-and-6 from the Denver 9. This is the play that could illuminate the difference in this game … and it is, as Manning finds Dallas Clark in the back of the end zone. Indy is two-for-two in the red zone; Denver is one-for-three. That’s why the Broncos will be behind by one point assuming Adam Vinatieri makes the extra point.”. Your expression here has the clarity afforded by expertise. Earlier this week on the NFL channels Total Access Rod Woodson and Rich Eisen did an segment called playbook. In it Mr. Woodson outlined the Colts offensive set called the “China 7″. In his evaluation he detailed how the formation worked, what Denver needed to do to counter it and why, he believed, Denver had the personnel to stop it. On the play you described above you noted this plays ability to “illuminate” the rest of the game. Dead on. Denver didn’t stop the “China 7″ or any of its variants. One look at TE Dallas Clark’s stats will tell you that once the evidence of Denver’s inability to stop this formation (and force Indy to play a more conventional Pro Set) became apparent they continued to go to it all day. From this point Indy’s running game continued to set it up. At half time I believed the Broncos had done an excellent job but I knew that it would not last. If Mike Heimerdingers accents to this offense can be described in a few words I would say that they are easily countered, non-explosive, uninventive attempts at forcing this team to play a controlled version of what it could be. I said it last week and I’ll say it again. With Heimerdinger having anything to do with the play calling your going to have low scoring, high yardage teams who themselves are easily countered and non explosive. At this point in the season we’ve gone from a few points of concern to a series of major problems that we may not have the time to fix. Our third down play is a joke, our red-zone offense has gotten worse, and our defense doesn’t seem to have heard of the concepts of wrapping up when you tackle or gap control. Whats really troubling is that these things are fundamentals! Period! I did not get to see the game today or hear it but again, Mr. Mason’s excellent work gave me an outstanding feeling as to what was happening on the field and it sounds as if Joseph Addai and Reggie Wayne had Broncos like Ian Gold and Jeff Shoat bouncing off of them as if they were covered in Teflon. This is kind of unthinkable because Ian Gold has been one of our most consistent tacklers. I watched Shoat at SDSU however and tackling was a problem for him there as well. I know that we now have a cool down period where we can allow reason and logic to seep back into our consciousness. I hope that the Broncos use it too. Right now they are a team that is making roster changes (I understand that some of them are related to injuries), and repositioning players to begin the fourth game of the season. The players don’t seem to have any idea as to the identity of this team, the coaches don’t either and we, the fans, can only guess at it. Now is the time for answers. The Broncos had better wake up. The Kansas City Chief’s found their running game today and laid 30 points on San Diego (thank goodness it looks like the bolts can’t stop the run either) while the Raiders went on the road and smacked the Dolphins with 35 points. The other teams in the AFC West are climbing their collective way’s out of the basement while the Denver Broncos seem to be climbing in.

    Mike in San Diego

  15. Broncofan1088 says:

I honestly don’t know waht the problem is besides for the poor tackling I’d say the broncos are playing just fine. The coaching is not excellent but i do not feel it is horrible either. I’m going to just let this season play out and see if they come together or fall apart and if they do fall apart i may have to agree its time for a coaching change.

  16. sadaraine says:

LPP: Plummer with passion? Are you smoking the same stuff Plummer does? Where is his passion when he is traded to Tampa with a chance to compete and he quits!? I was a big fan of Plummer, but he’s yesterday…he quit on the game and is old news. Cutler is the future and I’ll bet if you dig up Plummer’s stats from his first 9 starts Cutler’s would own him.

General comments: I was so absolutely excited about our defense this year. I’m still excited, but we need some progress. I don’t care what Bate’s scheme is, insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I know Peyton is deadly if you blitz, but you can’t just keep doing the same thing and never applying any pressure. We have the best secondary in the league…I would think they could play man and cover for a blitz here or there.

Offense: Cutler needs a guy like Shanny as a QB coach…someone to help him grow…too many times Cutler is on the sidelines solo not doing anything to improve. I do love what the running game is doing and I think it will be another year before we start seeing fireworks from Cutler…but I assure you he’ll get there.

  17. elviselway says:

Ive been with the Broncos for a long time, and Ill always be with them…but I cant remember seeing our D get handled by the other teams running this consistantly…ever.

  18. broncogram65 says:

The only thing I have to say about the Plummer, Cutler thing….Jake was a veteran alredy and had been playing in Az. before here. He lost his passion to play!!! Jay has passion and I believe he will learn as he grows with the rest of this “young team” There isn’t too many “older” guys and experienced guys left! We have to be patient and let Shanahan do his job! I do believe he knows the game and has the “stats” to prove his ability to put a team together. Health is a big factor here! All is not lost. Jake is happy where he is. If not, he would be in Tampa or in Denver. Jay is happy where he is and we need to have faith in the team. Don’t be like it was in the Elway era, and blame it all on Jay, win or lose. It takes a team! Don’t be quick to Judge!

  19. Broncofan1088 says:

Honestly i’m resting the poor play on the head of the defense. Champ got burnt for a few plays ONLY because he was so scared of the run and was biting on the play actions as I clearly saw in the one pass where he was on dallas clark and they showed the replay of champ running in then backing up but clark was alrdy behind him by then. The defensive line and linebackers are playing the run horribly and that is affecting the rest of the defense and the offense’s moral. I am inclined to blame the poor defense on this new scheme because it seems that the players may not be adjusting right to the scheme of Bates defensive style. However, all the blame can not go on the coach because the linebackers and Defensive lineman are not making surehanded tackles and wrapping up properly. They are also not getting off blocks much at all. I feel that we need a true MLB because DJ is much better at WLB. I also think that our defensive lineman range from very young to very old and we have no consistent middleman except for engleberger who plays decent. The good thing is that the young dlineman look to be getting better but they are definitely not used to the scheme along with the fact the linebackers are completely not right for the scheme. Ian and Webster are getting old and DJ has not shown he deserves to be a MLB at all, we need a true MLB in my opinion. Mason do you think you could post your take on our defense and why they are not playing well?

  20. MileHighShack says:

until Shanny and the GM make a real commitment to actually get good players on defense and not trying retreds year after year, this will continue.

no linebackers, no Dline (besides rookies who aren’t ready), no safeties
the only players on our D worth a damn are Champ Bailey and Dre Bly
    so 9/11 players are horrible

it’s not all coaching folks, it’s bad, bad, bad players

  21. thundersrevenge says:

I don’t live in Denver so I guess that doesn’t afford me some of the liberties to continually bash Shannahan, but the Head Coach position isn’t the Broncos problem right now.

One of the other bloggers mentioned that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Well that pretty well explains our defensive scheme right now. Watching the front four stunt on every second down and not seeing the blitz as a regular package seems to be the only thing our defense is allowed to do right now. What happened to the aggressive defense of last year? Sure we have a few first timers out there right now, but the fact that Bailey doesn’t have at least 6 picks by now really shows that we aren’t using the resources we have.

As far as the offense…..There were several times the ball was marched strait back at Indy with considerable ease. The Broncos controlled the clock all except the fourth quarter. And if you want to pick on Cutler you need to pull your head out of the sandy location it’s in. The offensive strategy going into indy wasn’t to have Jay throwing a whole lot. We moved the ball extremely well on the ground and that’s where Indy is weak.

My biggest fear is that the defensive sheme is going to be same all year and we will give up points to teams like Jacksonville that last year we would have made a joke out of.

  22. rott_tamer says:

I think there is too much talk about the Bronco’s Offense and not enough about the defense. DJ Williams is killing me. I’m not pleased with any of the linebacker play. I’d love to see Mike go out and get Trotter, move DJ to the weakside (to keep him on the field more) and leave Nate on the strong side. Our run defense sucks and it’s because DJ is never filling the right hole…when he does? He just gets run over. We need to make this happen and if I was Trotter’s agent, I’d be on the phone night and day begging Shanahan to bring him in. I makes the most sense without completely disrupting the defensive chemistry.

  23. emari07 says:

The thing is is that denver is not physical enough. Coyer was ok at stopping the run but when it came to the bigger backs we struggled this year I don’t know and I’m the type of guy that loves defense. One thing for sure in recent years we have not been man handled. What do they do now because guys listen if we stop the run we could be 4-0 even if we struggled in the red zone which we should not be doing. The D has to help the offense and the other way around I love denver and will always I pray guys we turn it around

  24. poorboywilly says:

For the record, Williams was SLB before this season. Gold is WLB still. That said, I’ve been pretty impressed with Williams. He had 11 solo tackles vs. the Colts. I have not been too impressed with Webster at all, and am a little surprised we haven’t seen seen someone new in there at SLB. Do the coaches see something in him I don’t? Too bad Holdman got hurt in the preseason, he was looking pretty good.

  25. LetPlummerPlay says:

    “Our Summary”

“Save The Broncos, Save The World!”

The Broncos are floundering with multiple Pro Bowlers, the best secondary in the league, a QB generally considered a blue-chip prospect, and a workhorse of a running back. And the team is struggling against everyone. Maybe we’re just idiots here, but we think that kind of poor guidance starts at the top. Shanahan is no longer “The Mastermind.” He’s just another coach. If things don’t turn around soon, he’ll be just another coach who’s stuck around too long. Don’t coast on 97-98 and keep giving Shanahan a mulligan year after year. Demand excellence from the position where the Broncos need it most! If you think we’re still just insane Jake Plummer lovers, you can kiss our asses! We failed to save the Snake, but our failure is going to inspire us to do bigger things! We aren’t just out to save the last piece of Pumpkin Pie; we’re out to save the entire Broncos team! SAVE THE BRONCOS!

Wow guys. way to stand by cutler. he has passion. but who wants to see the kid get mad when things arent going right. thats what i like about him. he tries to make it seem like hes calm. like that crap marshall pulled last night with throwing his helment. my first reaction is should of found out what went wrong with the play and course the shot is of him talking with mike. you cant let the other team see you start to get upset. they feed off stuff like that. as far as it being time for mike to go.. no way. guys weve had a lot of changes this year. we cant expcet there not the be some bumps in the road. that last few years were started out kinda slow. the season is still and young and cutler will get the job done!! Keep trying boys!!

  28. hrdnokd says:

I’ve been watching my beloved Broncos for a long, long time (20+years), and this team has all the makings of a mediocre football club. What good does it do to get 2 cover corners if you’re going to leave 2 safeties deep in coverage every time. Gold looks old and washed up at this point and D.J. is out of place in the middle. The coaching staff benches the starting DT’s and the results were the same. This shows it isn’t a matter of players but the scheme we run. I’ve never been a fan of Bates and his system, it relies heavily on talented defensive linemen and we just do not have them. If we finish 8-8 we’ll be lucky, right now we’re swiss cheese.

  29. hrdnokd says:

And for those of you out there wishing for Plummer, get over yourself. He had his shot and blew it. 10 year vets shouldn’t turn the ball over 5 times in the biggest game of their career. Cutler is not the problem, Shanahan….maybe.

  30. tyson says:

trotter was signed by tampa bay about the same time we signed rice, i was hoping we would sign him, move dj back to weakside, and get golds ass out of denver

  31. tyson says:

another thing that needs to change is how we draft!! we could have drafted steven jackson, but instead we draft dj williams. imagine jackson in denvers system, he wouldnt get up limping after every run. we wouldnt have to hold our breaths everytime he touches the ball hoping he gets up and walks back to the huddle

  32. reggie07 says:

I think the problem with the broncos are the Defense cord…how do you go from being in the top 5 against the run last year..to being second to last with avg 180 plus a game…yes they are the best against the past at 118 a game but until the offense reach their potential we need to focus on the run…because we stall in the red zone twice (constant problems) the colts took the lead and use the run to hold on to the win…I know this is a new defense and all but Jim Bates has to go…at this rate we are worst a defensive team then we were last year…Memo to Mike…..make the changes and get us back to the first class that we deserve or move over and let someone else takes the helm.

  33. GO CUTLER says:

I DONT CARE IF TRAVIS GETS UP LIMPING GIVE HIM SOME CREDIT HIM AND THE OFFENSIVE LINE DID A GOOD JOB RUNNING THE BALL IN THE GAME STAY POSITIVE PEOPLE.

  34. king GEE69 says:

Hey Bronco nation what i saw last night and the past few weeks during the games is pathetic. Our defensive line and the linbackers are SOFT. They need to give their paychecks back because they havn’t earned them. The only reason they where throwin on Champ yesterday because he has to have his eyes in the back field watchin the run before he defends the pass cause nobody else can tackle. This is sad how can u not stop the run when u know they r goin to run on us. We need a new defensive coach. Our defense is garbage. Startin from the coaches. On the offense whats up with the play callin Shanny put the ball up man the kid has a cannon let him use it. at least once every series. Nuff said waitin to see what LT does to us next week.

  35. hrdnokd says:

How is a 5′10 250 lb defensive end suddenly the best D lineman left on the squad? Seriously? Henry is a tough runner and the line is doing great on running and passing. One other question, does anyone have the speed dial for Quincy Morgan? I mean if we’re not going to use Hixon for anything other than special teams what’s the point? Hixon looks confused and hesitant hitting the returns.

  36. king GEE69 says:

Forgot to adress the special teams they r garbage too when was the last time we had a decent field position. On the average we r statrtin from inside our own 20 its ridiculous. Fire Obrien too.

  37. elway07 says:

Cutler is doing a heck of alot better than Plummer did in his last days. Elway wasn’t perfect in first couple of seasons, that takes practice and time to become a great quarterback. Plummer was good at first but then he started playing like he wanted to be traded… did anyone not see the game last year against KC in Denver… what the heck was that. i was there… the entire stadium started yelling for the coach to put in Cutler. That’s just one example… Plummer wasn’t playing with his whole heart in the game, yeah maybe Cutler could work on that too but at least he’s trying… at least he’s making touchdowns happen.
Peyton Manning wasn’t perfect his first couple of seasons, no one even knew who he was just like every other beginner QB. It takes time to go from a good QB to a great one & be able to win games like we used to. Elway would be the first one to tell you, it takes time to become that QB everyone is looking after… look at how Manning & Brady have established themselves as QB’s. I’m perfectly happy that we switched to Cutler… he’s making the best effort he can for only being in his 2nd season, technically his first full season since he only had 5 games last year.
Cutler’s never going to be perfect, neither will any other QB or any person. But he can come very very close. You have to give it time & not expect Elway to come out of this kid instantly. I liked Plummer WAAAAY better than Griese… look at that guy, he’s killing the Bears, but Cutler is a passionate QB with determination in mind. I know he wants to win, the Colts aren’t an easy game… but just for the sake of a solid fan base here I highly suggest all you nay-sayers just stop being so negative.
The last thing this team needs are a bunch of fans who suddenly talk crap about their own team… what kind of fans do that?? I can’t imagine what you all would say if we still had Griese as a QB if you’re saying what you are about Cutler. You all are crazy, make up your minds, stick with your QB and stop complaining.
Cutler’s going to make something of himself & this team one day & hopefully that’ll put all your negative remarks in the grave where they belong. I’m not looking to start anything here, I would just like to hear something positive for once since what happened yesterday was such a pain in the butt. If there’s one team in this entire league I want to beat it’s the Colts — trust me I would have LOVED it!! Someday it’ll happen, with Cutler as QB.
But for as the near future, as badly as San Diego is playing these days I can see a sweet victory happening Sunday, a bitter sweet one considering what happened last year with them… this team is changing & adjusting to a new QB and new young players & that takes time. We still have some great solid players from the Elway era but we’re moving on & starting over with practically a whole new football team. Magic isn’t going to happen in the blink of an eye, you have to have patience & believe we can become what we once were.
It’s possible but it doesn’t help if you think we’re the worst team ever just because we didn’t beat the Colts or that Cutler made some mistakes along with everyone else on the team. Yes, Cutler’s going to get more of the crap b/c he’s the QB but he’s not the only person playing on this team. He’s not a one man show, it’s a team effort.
    Signing off… GO BRONCOS!!!!!

    ELWAY 07!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Plummer last 11 games= 17.7 points per game, 11 wins 4 losses

    Cutler last 9 games= 17.4 points per game, 4 wins 5 losses

YEAH, Cutler is doing a hell of a lot better for sure!

Fire the damn defensive coordinator our guys R good the coaching sucks if you know anyhting about D you know our team is to complex make it simple stupid and play football !!

Fact of the matter is that 10-6 or 11-5 will get us in the playoffs. Every game is not going to be perfect. Everyone is talking like we need to be 16-0. We still have 4 games to lose before we can kiss the playoffs goodbye. Admittedly, our defense looks pretty mediocre, but look at what the Colts defense did in the playoffs last year. It is possible for us to get it together in time. We are tied for the AFC West right now and just have to win our division to get to the playoffs. Look at the rest of our schedule, there isn’t anyone to FEAR in it. All of these teams have their own problems, and are beatable if we can manage to NOT TURN THE BALL OVER!!!! Turnovers lost us the Jags game, and the Indy game. We can’t afford to spot teams points.

    Hey Andrew,
I did just think of one question that I think is important. We always talk about how strong Jay’s arm is, but two weeks in a row he had a go ahead touchdown that recivers had to come back for… Now I know they were long bombs, but is there somthing wrong with Jays arm? I mean if he cant throw that far he should have been running right.

    HEY LETPLUMMER PLAY…

Try moving on, buddy. I don’t care if Jake had better leadership, more fire, a better record, or could throw a football a quarter mile.

    CUTLER IS OUR STARTING QB.

I liked Jake, but he’s retired and he’s not coming back. The Broncos may or may not have been better without him, but regardless of the outcome, they’re OUR TEAM. I don’t care who’s starting at QB (Mike Vick notwithstanding) and what the record is, I’m going to root for them until the day I die. I call you out on your claim of being a true “fan” if you can’t do the same.

But hey, it’s okay. Keep up the criticisms, the petty remarks, the “I told you so” gloating. I’m just going to kick back and take enjoyment out of the fact that you will spend hours upon hours of moaning and whining about the team when ultimately….NO ONE WILL CARE, and NO CHANGE WILL COME OF IT. Congratulations on all the time to be wasted.

    LPP,
Once again you’re spouting off stats that have no meaning without background. How about you look at Plummers Points per minute of possession vs. Cutler’s. Or look at how many 3 and outs per game. Or Yards per play. Or any other number of stats that put things in the real perspective.
Hell, even look at how many points the opposing team scored before you try to give Plummer credit for anything. 17 points is enough when the defense holds the other team to 7 or 10. But not when they give up 20+. DUH!!!

In other words, with the defense Plummer had, he couldn’t help but score points because he had the ball 40 minutes a game, and had a dozen or more possessions to try.
With the defense Cutler has, he’s lucky to get 6 or 7 possessions, and 25 minutes to play with. And yet he’s still getting just as many, if not more points.

LPP, you’re living in another world, completely oblivious of reality. Go crawl under a rock with your snake and disappear for the rest of the winter PLEASE!!!

A few things…DJ Williams, once again, was STRONGside linebacker last year. Second of all, for those talking about Henry, he’s the NFL’s leading rusher. I don’t think that qualifies as “soft”. Thirdly, the sky is not falling. Settle down people. “Our LBs suck…our running game sucks…our QB sucks…our pass defense sucks…” NONE of those statements are true. Now lets hand another loss to the reeling Chargers!!

Yeah, we can’t stop the run… and that’s pretty %$#&%%$#@#!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  46. ocrush4ever says:

Plummer’s last 11 games he had 11 wins and 4 losses? I don’t even have to look them up to know you’ve got your stats twisted up worse than your bloomers.

  47. thundersrevenge says:

    Hey ocrush4ever,

How can you have 11 wins and 4 losses in 11 games?

Not to mention that the reason why plummer was afforded any win the last two seasons was because the defense went and got the ball for him to fumble or throw away to the other team.

If I had that many chances with the ball I could of scored too.

  48. SuperBowlBoundBroncos says:

    Thundersrevenge,

O-crush was referring to whoever said the “Plummer’s last 11 games he had 11 wins and 4 losses?” statement.Apparently that person had their stats twisted.

11 wins 4 losses in 11 games is one of LPP’s stats from about 10 posts up. I told you he’s in a different world.

D_Line gets blown off the ball every play! Linebackers can’t tackle! Bailey can’t tackle everyone. They need to hang up the pic of Ian Gold smiling when he got smoked for that T.D.
