12:43 P.M. CST: Yet another injury … Tony Scheffler is questionable to return to the game. Injury was announced as a “hit in the chest” … Greg Wesley clocked him in the first quarter.
12:44 P.M. CST: I love Office Space, but why are they playing the Bobs’ interview with Michael Bolton on the replay boards right now?
12:45 P.M. CST: Another flag! The calendar may say it’s Veterans Day, but it feels like June 14 … another illegal formation penalty. This one is declined because the Broncos were left with fourth-and-2 …
12:46 P.M. CST: Safety, as Bernard Pollard blocks Sauerbrun’s punt attempt out of the end zone … Steve Cargile was in the area, but couldn’t put enough of a body on him to prevent the block, which was the third of Pollard’s career … 5-3, Chiefs.
12:49 P.M. CST: Chiefs take over at the Denver free kick … no penalty on the play.
12:50 P.M. CST: Chiefs go three-and-out. Fans boo. Don’t they realize their team is winning?
12:50 P.M. CST: Dustin Colquitt’s stratosphere-scratcher has height but not distance, going only 31 yards. Broncos take over at their 34.
12:53 P.M. CST: Brandon Marshall is wide open up the left sideline as the Broncos take over, but Jay Cutler’s pass is high and incomplete.
12:53 P.M. CST: Cutler throws it right at Tamba Hali … the pass is knocked down.
12:54 P.M. CST: Timeout, Broncos.
12:56 P.M. CST: Third-and-10 … Cutler flushed right … his pass for Marshall is high, but he catches it anyway, across the middle, with defenders bearing down. Seventeen yards and a first down.
12:58 P.M. CST: A near interception for Jared Allen … he can’t hang on.
12:58 P.M. CST: Brandon Stokley, one of the league’s leading third-down receivers, snags one for 13 to keep the drive alive.
12:59 P.M. CST: Playfake to the tailback … playfake the end-around … and Allen just keeps coming. He sacks Cutler for a six-yard loss.
1 P.M. CST: Chiefs pass rush growing more furious … Cutler steps forward and away from it for 8 yards to Marshall … now third-and-8 at the 32 … Andre Hall in at running back … Cutler scoots right out of the shotgun and fires low for Stokley and incomplete.
1:01 P.M. CST: Elam from 50 yards … and it bounces off the crossbar and in … and following the three-run homer off the foul pole, it’s 6-5, Broncos.
1:02 P.M. CST: The kick was Elam’s 37th field goal from 50 or more yards … second-most in NFL history. Thanks to Patrick Smyth, media information coordinator and all around statistical maharishi for the info.
1:04 P.M. CST: You Dropped a Bomb on Me by the Gap Band plays … shouldn’t this be saved for a 50-yard pass or something?
1:06 P.M. CST: Chiefs now with third-and-1 at their 34 … Now at the 44 after a 10-yard pass from Damon Huard to Tony Gonzalez.
1:10 P.M. CST: If at first you don’t succeed … Ian Gold missed Huard, then got to him for a 4-yard sack … but Priest Holmes follows the play with an 11-yard trek through the Denver defense … Holmes running hard; Chiefs with third-and-3 … Huard has time and finds Dwayne Bowe, who adds seven yards after Domonique Foxworth misses a tackle. Chiefs at the Denver 36.
1:12 P.M. CST: Bowe picks up 23 yards with a leaping catch in front of Dre’ Bly … Chiefs in the red zone at the Denver 13 … Holmes gets to the 9-yard-line on the toss sweep … Now at the 5 after another Holmes run. Third-and-1 …
1:13 P.M. CST: Well, that was interesting … Holmes just lost 13 yards trying to decide where to go as a blue-helmeted tidal wave of defenders rolled into the backfield … Chiefs still get something out of the drive, though, and it’s 8-6 after the Dave Rayner field goal.
1:15 P.M. CST: Holmes has 41 yards on 13 carries … There’s yellow confetti blowing around and every time I see it I think a flag has been tossed … Broncos will go to the two-minute warning facing second-and-4 at their 30.
1:19 P.M. CST: Marshall spins and darts for a 7-yard gain, but he is down … and he appears in serious pain … He took a shot south of Saskatoon, so to speak, and every man in the stands empathizes with him.
1:20 P.M. CST: There’s something sick about the Chiefs playing Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire as Marshall slowly leaves the field, the victim of a below-the-belt shot by Tyson Brackenridge. In boxing you’d have to forfeit a match for that. And yet the Broncos are charged with the timeout. Absurd.
1:23 P.M. CST: And the parade of injuries continues as Jay Cutler is hobbling and looks like he can barely move … he slowly leaves the field. Unreal.
1:24 P.M. CST: Patrick Ramsey is in … in ths shotgun … second-and-1 … his pass is tipped at the line of scrimmage and incomplete. The Broncos convert the ensuing third down … Cutler keeps on trying to run back in the game and he gets held back …
1:25 P.M. CST: Now Cutler is back in after Ramsey spiked the football … second-and-10 at the Chiefs 47; 1:16 left in the half.
1:26 P.M. CST: Cutler and Marshall both in … Cutler hit from behind on third down … penalty declined because the pass is incomplete … Broncos punting with 50 seconds left.
1:28 P.M. CST: Chiefs get it at their 17 after the punt and are content to go into the locker room with the status quo. Some fans boo. Again, are these people aware that their team is winning? Chiefs ahead, 8-6 at intermission.

This team is playing up to the par of past weeks-pitiful: penalties, blocked punts, safeties, field position, turnovers……ugh hard to watch!
Andrew, any news about Scheffler?
Cutler looks bad today. I hope he can get some rust off, but it may be to late. I know we have alot of young and new players but wow we look unprepared for like the four weeks. It is so different to see a Shannahan team play like this.
dont talk smack about cutler guys he is doing amazing for having no blocking
Jason Elam for Jesus!
How disappointing has bly been. Also we cannot stop a Running back with a fake hip. No pass rush ever heard of that.
anyone else sick of linebackers covering wrs? bates needs to go theres no question
Jim Bates is an embarrassment to embarrassments everywhere
They need to fine the guy that just hit marshall in the groin that was blatant
hey brandon ever hear of a cup. that was a cheap shot looked intentional
How can anyone really expect this game to be a high scoring one? I mean this is a huge rivalry… one of the biggest in the NFL. You can’t expect this game to be like New England vs. Miami or something where you would expect one team to just get killed again. This is a huge game for both these teams… its beginnning to be like the game last year with KC at Denver, the only points scored were field goals. Its not going to be a very high scoring game.
And now that I just saw Cutler go off the field, somebody just shoot me now… we need Cutler. He better come back and thank he did… just saw him come on. Thank God!!
GO BRONCOS!!!!!
these are the worst refs i have ever seen jared allen has went for cutlers legs 3 times in this game and the refs wont do a thing about it
He should be fined later. Should have been ejected. Chiefs=NO CLASS.
Who was talking about a high scoring game. It is so unbelievable that every snap there is either an injury or pentalty on the broncos yet we are only down 2.
Oh, and whatever it takes to get this team to stop getting penalties it needs to happen. Those penalties are killing us more than anything else. That one on Martinez cost us a Touchdown… and I’m beginning to smell some foul play in KC. I must have been seeing it in a different way but that first field goal by KC did not at all, look like it made it through. From watching it on TV, it looked like it went far right… so someone better explain that one.
And then what in the world was that penalty called that forced Denver to punt and it got blocked and suddenly the Chiefs had 5 points? I heard the ref say something and that it was a 4th down but what the hell was the penalty?? This game is becoming a bogus one, I’m thinking the Chiefs were having some kind of pow-wow with the Patriots on how to cheat during a game. And I’m completely convinced that the Patriots gave the Chiefs the ENTIRE manual on ‘Cheating for Dummies’. This is nuts!
GO BRONCOS!!!!!1
I agree 100%, the Chiefs have absolutely no class at all. And what really bugs me is that all these commentators were saying before the game that ‘we’re in one of the classiest stadiums in the league’. What class? What Chiefs stadium are they at? Clearly they’ve never been to a Chiefs game.
Is it just me or are the refs a little bit one sided here? if brady or manning were getting hit in the legs every play there would be roughing the quarterback penalties everywhere
Well there is one of the problems. How bad is Dan and Gumble. They use to be on Monday night footbal and the lead for CBS now they are both covering a game between 4-4 and 3-5 teams. They suck just like both of the teams so far. Also the officiating has been horrible. Some have been right calls but some just horrible.
Denver is playing decent, they need to keep controlling the run as kc cant throw the ball consistently, we need to get some motion from our wr to throw kc’s defense off, and come out running the ball so we can get our play action going again. we saw how bad Marshall was open, get them to commit 8 guys in the box and do a p.a streak to Marshall for a big gain!
what an effort by dumerville, wouldnt it be nice if the rest of the defense had some heart and gave that kind of effort
