Broncos-Chiefs: Early Pregame Notes

December 9th, 2007 - 12:11pm by Andrew

Tarp Removal

Somewhere between four and six inches of snow blanketed the Denver area between Friday night and the morning hours, but there’s no evidence of it on the playing field itself, which is now uncovered, open to the midday chill and bathed in sunlight breaking through for the first time since Thursday.

But even with the tarp covering the field, the preparation work remained fairly intense at the stadium, with workers attending to the playing surface from 6 a.m. Saturday morning onwards.

When they revealed the field to the elements at just after 11 this morning, steam rose from the warm field into the 16-degree air, creating a rather odd sight as players began casting their eyes towards the field for early warmups.

Tarp Removal

Also of noontime note … some of the Broncos spotted on the field for pregame warmups are wearing the blue pants. The Broncos have never worn the blue pants for a daytime regular-season game; they wore them for prime-time home games in 2003, 2006 and again this year. Denver is 5-4 in the blue pants.

Hey fellow broncos, philip rivers is out; as much as I hate to see an NFL player get hurt, this may be what us broncos need from San Diego.

    Let’s go Broncos!!

After watching the MIA @ PIT game a few weeks ago, I think we can all have a greater appreciation for what the ground crews can do to make the gameday experience the best it can be. Our field always looks sharp, and should be a source of pride to go with our Mile High Advantage (when we decide to reclaim it, that is).

If in anyway you can pass along this fan’s appreciation to the guys and gals that care for our stadium surface, and keep it looking its best, please do, Andrew.

    Thanks.

Kooblis, what Denver needs is a defense that works and special teams that don’t give the game away.

  4. KoobLis says:

But a san diego lost wouldn’t hurt either boncoinexile, even you’ve gotta agree with that, hehe.

Mason ~ Any word on how much Walker is going to play?

  7. AK-Broncomaniac says:

Walker inactive, huh? Mas – did that catch you guys by surprise? After going through workouts all week, it certainly caught *me*…

  8. AndrewMason says:

A little bit … usually when guys go through the full practice on Friday they’ll go by Sunday … but that’s two in the last two weeks now, since Glenn Martinez went through the full practice on the Friday before the Raiders game (as well as Wednesday and Thursday, for that matter), but did not play at Oakland.

  9. BroncoBoy1993 says:

i think that the chargers will lose and phillip rivers is out.
so if we can win, we might have a shot at the division

  10. AndrewMason says:

Still need more help, though … if the Chargers lose today, lose to the Broncos and win their other two, and then the Broncos win out, the Bolts take the division on a common-opponent tiebreaker.

  11. BroncoBoy1993 says:

bolts scored with 9 seconds left..

  12. WhidbeyBronco says:

    Damn Titans!
Let’s not hear anything more bad about Baily!!
He has to stop the RUN!! But he has!!
    Go Orange & Blue

  13. WhidbeyBronco says:

    or Bly u fools

  14. WhidbeyBronco says:

What nobody blogs when we play well?
Gives u an idea of who comes here
We r Kicking the ass of our number 2 rival!!
When’s the last time we swept KC??
    YES!!

  15. Hyracotherium says:

I got news for ya, KC; ya ain’t in Kansas anymore! WHOOP!!

Anywho, I think that our previous game with SD will help fuel our guys against the bolts next week and, combined with their injuries, we should win.

    GO DENVER!!!!
