Although he was listed as questionable and had “limited” participation in Friday’s practice, running back Travis Henry is up on the 45-man active roster for the Broncos in their game with the Chargers today.
The only member of the six-man group of running backs and fullbacks to be inactive is Mike Bell, who did practice this week but is still recovering from a concussion.
As expected, safety Hamza Abdullah and wide receiver Javon Walker are scratched; both were ruled out in the days leading up to the game.
In an example of dramatic irony — or mere coincidence — the man self-nicknamed “Hot 97,” defensive end Simeon Rice, is among the eight inactives on this cool early autmnn afternoon. Defensive tackle Antwon Burton joins him on the inactive list; both played extensively in last week’s loss to Indianapolis.
Rounding out the inactives for the game are safety Steve Cargile, offensive tackle Ryan Harris and tight end Stephen Alexander.
The moves mean that wide receiver Brian Clark will make his 2007 debut; he was inactive in Weeks 1-3 and was not on the roster last week, as he was waived the day before the loss to the Colts.
All the while, players begin gathering on the field, with the public-address system stepping back into the early 1990s by blasting the Stereo MC’s Step It Up. Both these teams need to do just that today.

Well I have been patient trying to watch and wait. I am highly disappointed with Mike allowing Jim Bates to continue to let this team go this way. I am a very avid fan and I can not believe that our defense is this bad. When do we realize that we are not bringing enough pressure especially with the corners that we have??? Sure DJ is not playing his best, but that is all coaching for the most part. Play your gaps sure I can see that working, but it’s not for us, we have not been pushing the line back enough. C’mon when do you coach to win such as letting clark run in out 3 yards deep. We are out of the game before it even started. This is horrible having to watch this. My poor neighbors due to the fact of having to hear me over the last 5 games. We need to put pressure and finish with defense. What is going on with Jim??? It’s forcing us to pass and get away with the run just like I seen we are punting. Yeah!!! This is very ugly and my prediction with this team is now going to be in last place since we can not follow tape, play our positions, and allow some of this poor play calling.

The Broncos need to replace all of the coaches except Shanahan if the Broncos want do NOT want to go 2-14. Bates SUCkS and he is ruining the Broncos.
Shanhan needs to take over all play calling, offense and Defense. I really hope the Broncos play better after the bye week. Now because of how bad Denver is playing today, the Raiders will be in first place considering they have a bye week this week.

Again I have to chime in with the last two guys as well, because they just scored again and now it is 34 to 3 can you believe that we suck this bad. I agree as I said before we need some new coaching on defense. It is not that all the players are so bad. Everyone on this team that starts makes at least a million dollars a year and I could coach this team better than what we are doing for half the money. Remember that this is a business and they get paid a lot of money for this. How can Mike tollerate this. I know that he is not happy, but what is the difference that he is making???? As a head coach Mike has to make the difference. Pat this is getting outrageous. We have more talent than Kansas City, yet they at least beat SD. and we are getting blown away at home. We are not playing with heart, and we don’t have even a good game plan, c’mon Pat you won’t make any money with us keep losing like this, especially at home. I hate to say it, but do we need to make a change after this year??? Has Mike lost what it takes to run this team. Especially with the talent that we have, despite our DT, which are not very good.

Wow you know you can’t blame the offense, because it starts with us being able to stop somebody, it has got to start with Jim and he sucks with this type of defense what ever happened to adjustments???? Well I have tried to have hope, but it is gone. All I can do is hope that Pat Bowlen noticed all of the empty seats there in Denver and how that will affect his pocket book later if he doesn’t make some tough decisions with Mike and his choices. I like Mike, but am very disgusted with Jim Bates, how is Larry doing now oh yeah he is doing great. It is horrible to see the stadium empty in the 4th qtr. It is not Jay’s fault, but Henry is not playing with heart, and we know why he is playing High, Literally,. But the defense sucks so bad due to coaching thanks a lot Jim you are horrible for our defense.
This is my 1st post and I’ve been a life long Bronco fan. I must say that I’m sick and tired of hearing about how the defense needs to improve. At this point you start to wonder that BATES is not doing his job properly. I live in FL and have seen what he did with the Dolphins and he did a great job but keep in mind that he had a very strong defense when he was there. Now that he’s in Denver with a totally different defense line he needs to make adjustments better and he is not. I would give him 1 more game after the bye to step up but let me tell you that if I were Shanhan, I would make sure that the Defense does all the practicing over the next 2 weeks! Tell that D-Line that they need to learn to tackle! As for the Offense I would suggest that the only practice Red Zone plays and make sure that they can score 7 instead of 3pts.

Hell, Shanahan hired Bates, got rid of Wilson, and 3 of the starters on the D-line from last year, so I say fire him too! He’s too predictable, I can tell what the team is doing, so you know the other teams can too. Bronx2729 said it, we have no heart! Why sit Rice? we’re paying him a lot and we sit him?? i said Warren would haunt us in Oakland and he had a good game against us. Bly has no heart out there, looks flashy, but no heart. Well Broncos fans, there’s always next year, because we are toast, done, maybne we can get the No# 1 pick next year, and we need DEFENSE!!!!! Im glad the network dropped the game…it saved my life. I had gone into complete SHOCK, and couldnt come out of it…or at least that’s what it felt like.

What ticks me off more than us just flat out being a bottom 10 team is that all I hear is the same crap out of our coaches mouth game after game (we have to get better). Here is a fact. Since game 1 we have given up more points and more yards in every game following the prior game. (Which means we are getting worse and what are we doing in practice? )Here is another fact. I said in prior blogs that the Colts would score 40 on us and the Chargers would run for over 200. Pretty damn good if I say so myself. Now Im saying start courting Bill Cower. First off, i think the person who quoted the pot comment, is a little winney girl.. There are more players then you know, who smoke pot on their spare time! And secondly, this is football, not chruch save it! And last but not least, i think that the denver broncos, are becoming one of the worst teams in the league. I love them, and will watch every minute but good lord, do they have some problems.. And also it is amazing to me that no one mentions coaching….

Every entry in this blog is saying what I was saying and doing what I was doing during this train wreak game today. The entry about wanting to turn the game off is the most correct statement about how I felt. Which is silly because I spend a couple of hundred dollars a year to make sure I can watch every game in the comfort of my own home, and this is what I get? Absolutely awful. And to hear the statements again from Shanahan about how the team needs to “GET BETTER” is just plain DENIAL!
In order to get better you would have to start from somewhere that allows the improvement to make a difference and right now even an improvement would not win games.
The defense is terrible, and the need to “GET BETTER” is an understatement!
Maybe we need to get better in the Head Coaching position. Maybe Shanahan is not covering his gaps and missing tackles.

So Brandon Marshall thinks it is “bandwagon” for 76,000 people who showed up in foul weather to leave when their team doesn’t return the favor? I think they deserved what the got. The team didn’t show up so the fans left. And a few booed. All I got to say is if you think that was bad, try playing like that again. It can get MUCH worse.
What really bothers me is I still believe this team is better than that. If they were just bad, I could understand. But we are seeing a good team play poorly. That really hurts. I can back a team that loses if they leave it all on the field. I haven’t seen that from the Broncos this year. I don’t know, but I don’t like it.
It makes me wonder about the concept of buying talent. I said above the Broncos were a good team. Now I wonder if they aren’t a collection of good players. Maybe we bought so many pieces that we couldn’t put together a team with them.

I was livid when they fired Coyer in the first place but this organization has shown a track record of making good decisions, but it seems to me that the organization is cracking at its foundation and imploding. we have the athletes, with the exception at defensive tackle, to really play competitively but this is not getting it done.
Like Sharp said yesterday, this team has been playing on borrowed time and unfortunately we saw their potential yesterday.

Not saying Shanahan hasnt been successful, but he is too wrapped up in this genius thing. We need to simplify the offense, get sum better linebacker, n d-line play. I miss Trevor Pryce and Al Wilson. “Hot 97″, wouldnt sign with us unless his contract was guaranteed, bad move. Should spent that $$ and the $$ we spent on Bly for better decisions on our d-line and linebackers. The Bears showed everyone who was paying attention that your defense starts up front. Example, last year we were better than the Bears on defense everywhere but d-line. We had better linebackers and secondary, but our D wore down because our d-line was inconsistent at best. Their front 4 with our back 7 would have given us a Super Bowl. I dunno, just an obervation of mine.
