Broncos-Cardinals: Fourth-Quarter Notes

December 17th, 2006 - 4:52pm by Andrew

Matchup4:20 P.M. MST: Mike Bell’s tough third-down run has the Broncos just one yard from their third touchdown of the day.

4:22 P.M. MST: Success, as Mike Bell makes his hometown return a success with his sixth touchdown of the season. Jason Elam gets his 12th point of the day — he’s now at 97 for the season — and the Broncos have their first three-score lead since the third quarter of the home loss to the Chargers.

4:27 P.M. MST: At this point, the Broncos appear to be trying to keep the Cardinals in front of them, maybe get some yards, but not gobble up large chunks at once. The Cardinals’ two biggest plays on this possession so far have come on Matt Leinart scrambles of eight and 14 yards.

4:36 P.M. MST: Champ Bailey has lined up opposite Larry Fitzgerald for most of the afternoon, but with fourth-and-six, the Cardinals moved Fitzgeraled around into a matchup against Karl Paymah, and he snagged a 19-yard pass to keep an Arizona drive alive.

4:38 P.M. MST: Bailey and Curome Cox saved a touchdown with an open-field tackle on Anquan Boldin, but Edgerrin James scores two plays later to narrow the Broncos’ lead to 10 points with 7:46 remaining.

4:46 P.M. MST: At least the Broncos managed to recover Chike Okeafor’s second forced fumble of the day when George Foster pounced upon a loose football … and then Antonio Smith nullifies what would have been a stop for his team when he gets flagged for an unnecessary-roughness infraction after the play. At the least, the penalty costs the Cardinals about a minute and a half of possession time.

4:52 P.M. MST: I think it might be impossible for a player to be held more blatantly than Javon Walker was in the end zone.

4:53 P.M. MST: Mike Bell runs for a 1-yard touchdown, and the lead is three scores with under three minutes left.

    Where is “LetPlummerPlay” now? Dork…

Oh c’mon, anyone looks like a “great” QB, against the Cards D. But that doesn’t mean that Jay Cutleris a great one.

Cutler played well, very promising for sure. With the Chiefs about to lose to the Chargers, all we need is one more win for the post-season. Then we can really see how Cutler holds up. I have faith tho!

Why is it that everyone is doubting his ablilities? He just tied a record formerly held by Dan Marino by throwing 2 or more td’s in his first three starts as a rookie. He is doing very well and he’ll prove it next week. Bring it on Cinci.

An overall good performance by everyone on the Broncos in cluding special teams.

    Go Saints!

Yea…any starting QB SHOULD look good against the Arizona D. Why didn’t Plummer look good against Oakland? Cleveland? Rams? Cutler did what a starting Bronco’s QB is supposed to go against a team like the Cards…If Plummer had been playing then I have a feeling the score would have been 22-20 or something. If we were lucky. My point is Cutler helped the team score the most points in a game this season in just his third start. And he’s scored more points in three starts than any three game stretch under Plummer this season. I think we have heard the last of “LetPlummerPlay”. I’m sure he’ll be back next week if the Bronco’s lose. That guy isn’t a fan, he is a naysayer.

Tlynch you dont know what your talking about. LPP is a fan….if you would goto his website you could see that. His point is that plummer needs to playing and not Cutler.

LPP prolly aint saying S#@T because us fans know this victory was against a mediocre if not sucky team. Even my girlfriend, who does not watch football, said the arizona was a pop warner team. Cutler needs to play a real game (I.E san diego, KC, Cincy) and win, then I could believe.

About Darrent……Im glad he dint play next week so he could be healthy for next week. We’ll see cause he’s be talking crap bout everyone. Cincy has quite a few good WRs and you know they are going to test’em.

As I am writing this, you know what I jsut figured out. Im just a frustrated Bronco fan these days. I hate when we suck. I am so used to being a good time. And to see us like this, sucks.

ANyway….bring on da Bengals and pray for injuries tonight.

Delux i gotta say that your grammer is at best poor. You made very little sence. Anyway I have to say that Even though Arizona has a poor record they were really hot going into Sunday and we went to thier house and beat them pretty good. The game wouldn’t have even been close if T. Bell would have held onto the ball. So to the”Cutler needs to play a real game (I.E. sandiego, KC, Cincy) and win, then I could believe.” I say BS. A win is a Win and now we are ranked #5 in the AFC and we win this week and we are all but in the Playoffs and then we will see what Cutler is made of since we all know that Jake fell apart when it really matters in the Playoffs. So i say either get on the wagon or get off. We don’t need fairweather fans in Denver we have always been behind the Broncos even when they were really bad, and they have been REALLY BAD in the past. Cutler is the starter and is playing better than Plummer did so I say you need to start backing him now or do what the rest of the fairweather fans did and jump ship and leave the rest of us ” TRUE FANS ” go on with loving our team and backing who ever may be under center. And pray for injuries???? What is that all about that is not what a true fan wants I want them to come into Denver at full strength so that Jay can shut all you nay sayers up! Bring on Cincy. ALL of CINCY!!!! Go Denver, and Go Jay!!!!!!

I agree with delux304, TLynch you don’t know what are you talking about.
If Oakland and Cleveland ara a bad teams is because their offense not their Defense. And the Cards are a bad team because their D sucks.
