Greetings from a gorgeous morning at Broncos headquarters. Seeing the majesty of the day’s dawn makes me want to become a morning person … eh, maybe not.
The Broncos’ first practice will begin at 8:30 a.m., without Tony Scheffler, Brandon Marshall and Rod Smith in uniform, but with splendid conditions, as temperatures will rise from the upper 60s into the mid 70s during the course of the two-hour session.
Most of the time, this blog will be the first section of the site to be updated, with reports from every practice and updates to follow between practices. Bookmark or subscribe to the RSS feed to make sure you’re always in touch with the latest from Dove Valley.
You’ll also see some different names around the main site over the days and weeks to come, as we have one new full-time hire to produce and edit all of our on-line video and a pair of college interns who will be writing stories, gathering quotes and helping bring you the stories from Dove Valley.
Handling video will be Kasey Byers, a product of the University of Montana who brings experience from stations in Missoula, Billings and Fargo, N.D. You’ll hear his voice on Broncos TV at various points over the weeks and months to come.
Our two interns are Christopher Smith and Charlie O’Brien, from Samford University and Arizona State University, respectively. They’ll be handling some of the features and notebooks on the main site, while also having responsibility for updating the players’ biographies and statistics every week during the season — a pretty bulbous chore, even after the roster is trimmed to 53.
But that’s for later … for now, time to hit the field with camera, notepad and pens in hand.
Next update at midday after practice and interviews … until then, vaya con Dios.
