Alright, time for another fun and exciting blog with everybody’s favorite Bronco, Domonique Foxworth.
Well, this is probably going to be the most fun blog that I’ve done in quite some time — at least four weeks — because we got a win. I played a large role in the game, which is always a good feeling, especially coming off a couple weeks missed by injuries and several losses in a row, which We as Broncos players and you as Broncos fans are not accustomed to. But it made the win feel that much better, I guess.
It’s something to be proud of, because the Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the top teams and are respected for being one of the toughest and most talented teams in the AFC. To be able to get a win against them and play well is great. We played probably as well as we have so far on special teams and played pretty well on defense. I think we did great on special teams, which is one of the most underrated things about football, how important field position is. That’s all decided through special teams. We had some great coverage in kickoffs this year for the first time this season. We also had some pretty good returns, and had an all-around solid special teams game.
On offense we were able to score touchdowns, which has been something that’s been difficult for us this year. We were able to score touchdowns, which are a lot better than field goals. We made some turnovers and even scored on defense this week, so I think we played just about as well as we’ve played, as far as a complete game is concerned, this year.
It was kind of a tough game also because of the pregame tribute to Darrent and Damien, who as everybody knows are two of our teammates who we lost this offseason. It was especially tough for me, because as everybody knows I was really close with D-Will, and I’ve become really close with his family. It was nice to see them, but before a game like that, it was really emotional for me and that emotion definitely carried over into the game. It was a lot of ups and downs that morning. I met up with the Williams family and we talked a little bit, which was kind of emotional. From there, we went to the game, and then to get a little excited and worked up for the game, and then the next thing that happens is they have this tribute on the Jumbotron and you see Darrent and Damien up there. It was kind of an emotional thing in itself, and then in any football game you have the ups and downs throughout the course of the game. Then to win in the last second, it was just a great feeling. It was a great game to be a part of.
Right as the game ended I was sitting on the bench, really not nervous at all. I feel like Jason Elam kicks better in pressure situations than just a regular kick. He’s definitely one of the best pressure kickers in the history of the league.
Once we got into field goal range, the game was as good as won, as far as I’m concerned. So I went and sat on the bench, and then Jason kicked the field goal and everybody charged the field because we won. I remember sitting there, and I think Dre’ Bly kind of threw his helmet down as he was running out on the field. I told this story on the radio show last night, but there was just Dre’s helmet and me sitting on the sideline. Just an unattended helmet — I know it’s kind of corny — but just a helmet sitting out there by itself made me think of D-Will. So I picked up the helmet and walked into the locker room. I also found out on the radio show that apparently there was a big deal made about how long I sat in my locker after the game. But it was just hard for me to celebrate with everybody else and feel as excited and happy about the win. As much as I did enjoy winning, the game was put in perspective because of the tribute that we had to a close friend of mine. But I definitely felt better after the game having won than I would have had we lost, but it was still very difficult. I’m sure anyone that’s ever lost somebody that they love would understand where I’m coming from.
I got to start my first game this year as a corner. I’ve started earlier games as a safety, but with Champ Bailey down, I got to step in for my natural position. I had a pretty good game. I really only had one opportunity to make a play on a pass and I got a good hit on Hines Ward which forced an incomplete pass. I ended up having a ton of tackles, I think 10 to be exact, with seven solo tackles, I’m told. The Steelers definitely are a physical team that runs the ball a lot. Out of respect, I guess, for our linebackers and d-linemen, they attacked the edges a lot, which forced me to make a ton of tackles on Willie Parker, so I ended up having a pretty productive game. Through the course of the game, I ended up playing some nickel, and I even moved back to safety quite a few times and played some corner, so I guess I’ve become comfortable in my role as the Broncos’ utility man. I kind of enjoy being the utility man from a starting corner position a little more, going from corner to safety to nickel and bouncing around. It’s actually a lot of fun. It’s only slightly annoying when I have to come off the bench and play all these roles, but we’re all hoping that Champ is going to be alright for this upcoming game, so I will be back to Mr. Everything from the bench. Which is OK, I guess. You do whatever you have to do to make your team win.
But I’m looking forward to the return of the positive responses on the blog. I’ve had a lot of great support from our fans, but we also had some disgruntled Broncos fans. But after a win like that and considering the circumstances, I’m sure that everybody enjoyed us getting back on track. So thank you to everybody who stuck by us through our rough three weeks. But we are definitely out of that and we’re moving towards a future of a lot more wins.
So the next day, we took the Williams family — Darrent’s mother, Rosiland and his aunt Trese and a bunch of other members of his family — we took them to the Boys and Girls Club so they could tour the club and see the future site of the Darrent Williams Teen Center. They saw the blueprints and everything, and it was another emotional time, but I think it was really exciting for Rosiland also, just to see how many positives we have coming from such a terrible tragedy. We all know that we can’t change what has happened, but they say that they appreciate the amount of effort that the Broncos are putting into it to make sure Darrent is remembered as the great player and great person that he was.
So when I pulled up to the Broncos Boys and Girls Club yesterday to get ready for the tour, Rich Barrows, the director of the club, was outside painting over some graffiti. That just got me to thinking. Something I’ve never really understood is how people graffiti, and most of the time it’s in their own community. It’s kind of frustrating, and Rich said that in the last three years, they’d had one act of vandalism, but recently it’s gone up tremendously. So I don’t know, it’s just frustrating when people do that to their own community and their own neighborhoods, but Rich is dedicated. He paints over any graffiti they get the morning that he sees it. It keeps the club looking nice and it’s something to be proud of. And it’s not even really good graffiti. When I’ve been to New York, all the graffiti on trains and stuff, you can tell they’re really talented. The people at least have some artistic ability. I’m not trying to push anybody to do any graffiti, but if you’re going to do it, at least do it well. Use a couple colors and make something cool-looking. Make it look like something special.
Anyway, we got Monday off for the first time in a while because we got a win. As I’ve alluded to before, we have a lot of dedicated players on this team, so everybody comes in to get a workout in, watch film and get ready for our next opponent, and also watch film of the last game to correct some mistakes. So yesterday consisted of me coming over to work out, then heading over to the Boys and Girls Club. I also went to the dentist yesterday, which I guess is kind of boring and not blog-worthy information, but I’m pretty proud of how clean my teeth were. The dentist said I did a good job, and I floss every day. So brush your teeth and floss every day so you can have a beautiful smile like me. That’s some good positive stuff for the kids. I know when I was a kid, I didn’t like to floss. My mom told me all the time and I didn’t listen. So now, Domonique Foxworth is saying, “Floss, kids.”
So I got to go to the club, which was the highlight of my day, and then went and did my radio show, which was a lot more fun this week considering it was following a win, rather than a loss. We had a good time down there. There were actually some people who wanted autographs and some callers, and we had a good time making fun of Mike Bell, even though he wasn’t there. I don’t know, he might be mad at me, but if you’re not going to show up, you’ve got to take the consequences, which is me making fun of you. I guess I make fun of him when he’s there too, so it really doesn’t matter.
Today, which is Tuesday, I’m excited about going to see the kids again for the writing class. Ever since school’s been back in session, the Boys and Girls Club has been a little more hectic. We’ve had a hard time finding a quiet place to do some writing, so I think we’re going to start going on some coffee house and bookstore field trips, just to get a quiet place to write so the teens in the writing group can focus. Hopefully I can talk some of them into allowing me to print some of their work, because I would love to be able to put something on the blog in the future, but I don’t know how they would feel about that. We’ll see. That’s in the works.
The Rockies… the Rockies are great. That’s pretty much all I can say about that. All of us here in Broncos Country are really proud of the Rockies, as I’ve been saying the past few weeks. I don’t know about that ticket situation they had going on yesterday. It was a little disappointing, but hopefully we get lots of local Rockies fans. I know the Red Sox fans are all across the country, so hopefully for our home games we can get a lot of support for the Rockies despite this ticket debacle that we have going on right now. I don’t know if I’m going to try to go to a game or not, but I’m definitely going to watch as many as I can and cheer for my hometown Rockies. I don’t know if they’re the favorite or not. I guess they’re probably not because of all the big names that the Red Sox have, but it’s undeniable that nobody’s been playing better than the Rockies recently. We can’t wait. The games are won on the field. Go Rockies, again.
Halloween is coming up, and I’m taking the writing group down to INVESCO Field on Oct. 30 to set up a suite. I guess they have like a little Halloween party there and kids are allowed to walk suite to suite trick-or-treating. The teens and myself will be down there, so bring the kids and get some candy.
(Blog Master’s Note: The Trick or Treat Party on Tuesday, October 30 is by invitation only and all guests must present their invitation at the door. A limited number of invitations are still available so please send us an email at Patrick.Brougham@Broncos.NFL.net if you are interested. Invitations will be mailed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.)
Come up with some creative costumes. Don’t get the boring K-Mart one, just a mask and a plastic cape. Step your game up, kids. I think this Halloween, I think I’m going to dress up as a smart, good-looking professional athlete. It’s quite a stretch for me, but I think I’ll just go to the Broncos store and get a Champ Bailey jersey. Wait, forget that. I’m going to go to the Broncos store and get one of the leftover Jake Plummer jerseys and a nice rock star wig and a nice fake mustache. I can’t wait.
We had the first snow, which is always exciting. Everybody loves snow, except for when you get a ton of it like we did last year. Hopefully we get some good snow, but not like last year. I remember last year during the big blizzard, nobody could go to work, obviously, except for the Denver Broncos. It was waist-high snow and we all somehow made it here. I couldn’t get my car out of the winding roads in my community, so I walked from my house to a main road and got a ride from one of my teammates who was able to get to the main road. My back was hurting, it was quite an ordeal. But we all made it to work, and we ended up starting really late and not getting in as much work as we normally do, but we still ended up winning and having a great game against the Cincinnati Bengals. I think I had like 14 tackles in that game too from the nickel position. I think I was playing a little nickel and a little safety back in those days.
I’m awaiting Andrew Mason’s retaliation for me making fun of his typing elbow last week. We’re all proud of him for being a tough guy and coming to work every day this week despite his horrible ailments.
Are you ready for some football, a Monday night party? I’m excited about Monday Night Football. I’m a big Tony Kornheiser fan. I’m a big PTI, Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon fan. They’re great. I don’t really watch much ESPN, because to be honest with you, they don’t know what they’re talking about. I’m sure that they would admit it, but it’s entertainment, just like football is entertainment. Those guys, even the former players and coaches, they kind of disappoint me, because they all do the same thing. They all go to join the media and then just say whatever they think is controversial to get people to watch and listen. Then they try to break down the games, and I guess it doesn’t take long for you to forget what’s actually going on. I’d say 80 percent of the time they have no clue what’s going on. They blame corners for deep touchdowns when we’re in Cover-2, which would make the corner’s responsibility the flat. They call offensive plays something completely different from what they are, and they think certain plays are mistakes when it’s clearly the way the play is supposed to be. So for the most part, it’s tough to watch that type of stuff. I guess it would be that way with anybody’s job. You would hate to listen to somebody tell you about your job when they really know a lot less about it than you do. I guess I’m part of the media with this whole blog thing, and I do have a radio show, but I actually know what I’m talking about.
But I really like PTI because they don’t take themselves too seriously. It’s kind of a fun show, but at the same time, I really respect Michael Wilbon. Being from the Baltimore/D.C. area, I was able to keep up with him when I was coming up. I really respect his journalism. I enjoy those guys. It’s great stuff and they’re really funny. I don’t know what time PTI comes on, I just catch it every now and then, or else I would give them a plug. Not that they need it, they should give me a plug. They don’t need a plug for their show, but I guess they could use some hair plugs. Maybe that will get me on their show, the face on a stick. They have all the faces in the background, so that would be cool if I could get a face on a stick. I’m definitely going to lobby for it when they come this week. If I get a pick, I’m going to do the penguin dance. Anyone who watches PTI is familiar with Tony Kornheiser’s patented penguin dance. Nah, I can’t do the penguin dance. It would be funny though. It would definitely make sure Tony Kornheiser knew who I was and would get me a shout-out on PTI. I’ll have to get on the Internet and Youtube and find the penguin dance so I can learn it. So look out for the penguin dance this week everybody.
Well, I guess that’s more than enough busy work for the Blog Master. Thanks everybody. All Ready.

Fox -
We greatly appreciate your efforts on the field this past Sunday night. Your hit on Ward to knock the ball loose was a big time play. If he holds onto that ball – they continue the drive and possibly score. Great hit!! Big time play.
Agree 100% with you that the key to the game was our special teams. Field position won the game for us. If we dont knock them back on their end – they definitely get a few field goals thrown in there – which in turn would have affected the outcome.
It was great to see improvement in all 3 phases of our team. Keep improving and the sky is the limit. Take the momentum and roll over Green Bay this Monday night.
Great job this past Sunday!!
Damn nice game, way to do more than fill in! It is always fun to watch when the non starters show the nay sayers who told you that you were not up to the challenge. The guys who have to fill in have the harder job then the starters do. Glad to see you guys putting it back together, and ready to get moving on for the rest of the season. Great Defensive and Offensive effort. Lookout Greenbay
Fox,
You are the man. Keep doing what you are doing, your leadership means more to the team then you know. In fact maybe you should go kick Brandon marshals butt. FYI with your patience maybe you should return kicks…………
Great game! I was proud of the way you filled in for Champ! I’m sure Darrent was proud too. You definately played your heart out; everyone of you did. I must say that hit you layed out on Hines Ward could’ve been the highlight for me. It was good to see the old Broncos back on the field! Another great blog. Can’t wait for 10/29 with the Rockies (possibly) and the Broncos!!
Hey Foxy D,
Great blog!! You were awesome on the field during the game. You all as a team were playing like the Broncos football team I’ve known. I don’t know where that all game from or where it has been since the beginning of the season but I’m sure glad you guys showed up to play on Sunday Night. You’ve made me even more proud to a dedicated Broncos fan. Keep up the GREAT work!!!
I love going to my college classes and just talkin’ about how well you guys have done. Of course, I’m always surrounded my icky Chiefs fans being stuck here in KC so they all hope for the worse. I hope you guys can come in here to KC and give them a very surprising win. I know we’ve hardly ever won in KC so play your hearts out and crush for me when the time comes. But to stay in the present right now, I’m soooo ready for Monday Night. Green Bay was my dad’s favorite team — kick their butts, I’d love it!!
As for not being real excited about the win b/c of the loss of your friend I know EXACTLY what you went through. I know the feeling of should I be happy or sad? I never met either one (D-Will or Damien) but I know they had such bright and promising futures. And for them to go like they did, so suddenly, you have every right in the world to feel the pain you’re feeling. I know all this b/c when we won our 2nd Super Bowl it was just 2 months after my dad died. I wasn’t sure what to do — be happy or sad. I felt the exact same way you felt after the win on Sunday. I don’t want to keep going on about this, I don’t like talking about this kind of stuff, but I know what its like to lose your best friend.
To D-Will & Damien, may you rest in peace.
Anyway, off the emotional train here. I’d love it if the Rockies and Broncos played on the same night but then I wouldn’t know what game to watch. I’m a loyal and dedicated Broncos fan but the Rockies in the World Series… how many times has that happened? None, and who knows when it’ll happen again. I just hope the Rockies sweep up those Red Sox as well. After all they’ve done & games they’ve won — it’s time they get a World Series title. It’s just time. I’m done with my novel… for now.
GO BRONCOS & ROCKIES!!!!!!!!
Fox, that would be awesome if you went as Jake Plummer. You’d have to post a picture of it on the blog.
Anyways, great game this weekend. You all played really well against a tough team. It definitely got people talking (although it should be noted that PTI focused on “what went wrong with the Steelers” instead of what you guys did right). Anyways, I look forward to seeing you guys on Monday night.
By the way, when are you going to tell us who the blog-master is?
hey fox,
the way you described the pre-game, it’s a miracle you could play at all let alone put in such a great performance. I think the whole team were amazing – all three phases. I think that game was kind of how everyone expected the team to play from the start.
Hopefully you’ll get to do your penguin dance on monday, it’s not like the packers don’t throw.
Right, i’m off to floss
Mike
Great game Fox!!! It was awesome to see the team making some plays. There seemed to be a lot more intensity from the front seven and they really didn’t give up a lot on the ground.
I was impressed and it was an awesome game to watch.
Keep it up.
Fox,
By far the best blog ever and you had a great game on Sunday. The Jake Plummer thing was hilarious. I take my last CPA test Monday at noon. Super stressed out for that. I have based the test time around the Broncos schedule and I will be severely intoxicated and screaming looking for the Penguin dance on Monday night. Actually do the soulja boy dance instead.
Here ya go.

P.S Have you heard about the fires down here. If I get evacuated I was wondering if I could crash at your house for a couple days…I mean months…ummmm maybe I could just move in and take over the master bedroom. I will do your dishes, scrub your toilets, make you dinner, take over the radio show, be the blog master, and fill in for you at the utility spot. Let me know ASAP.
Fox,
Just so you know, your hit started a fight in my house Sunday night. I have a 17 week old little girl who was just put to bed. So I’m watching the game and then it happens. Fox puts a ass whipping on Ward. I jump off the coach and scream….”YES, TAKE THAT BITCH! WHAT! WHAT! YOU WANNA PLAY CATCH SOME MORE?”
My wife looks at me and says “Terry, are you kidding me…Olivia is up now..”
The best part of it was my 4 year old son Jadyn, was there listening to me telling her to relax….and says “But mommy did you see that….”
PRICELESS!!!
Fox, you’ve got heart. The whole teams has heart. I live just outside of Chicago. Come November 25th, I’ll give you a shout out from the tunnel. In the meantime dare Favre to throw.
I’ll make you a promise. You hit like that again Monday Night, and I promise to wake my daughter up!
Take care and stay healthy.
p.s. Keep it simple. NFL football is what you’ll be known for professionaly, your friendship to Williams and those kids will be there when the stats have faded.
Hi Domonique,
I was at the club when Rosalind and her family went on the tour and listened to the presentation. It was very emotional, it was also very touching. What a blessing you are to all of those kids. The work you are doing is priceless and so deeply appreciated. You may never know how many lives you are blessing (you and everyone else who is dedicated to the mission of the Boys and Girls Clubs).
I took several pictures yesterday. They turned out great. I will send a couple disks to Cindy, one for her and one for you.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you… We can’t say it enough.
Hey Fox,
Congratulations on the GREAT GAME, Fox! I am so proud of the way you represented. And that hit on Ward? Whoooo! I was standing on my couch screaming!! That was the best! Thank you, to all of you boys, for getting the job done. As I said in the previous blog, the true fans aren’t going anywhere. We are here with you guys, win or lose.
It was so good to see Mom Nash and Mom Williams. We continue to pray for their strength. Just know that this seperation with Darrent is only temporary. Darrent is much better off than we are. He is resting in God’s glory! What better place to be?
Wishing you an abundance of success with the Teen Center. What a blessing that will be to so many!!!
Have a great week, ok? Looking forward to Monday night.
Go Orange and Blue!!
All Ready!
~ChocolateQT
…I guess I should take off my jersey now, eh?
Great job at starting corner this week! You are definitely a great asset to the Broncos and we need you! I was at the game and saw you being introduced as a starter at corner and I knew that you would be excited!
I don’t like ESPN all that much myself. The national media treats all Denver teams pretty poor but I just try to ignore it. Nothing is ever going to make the media like our teams so just go out and prove them wrong. I thought what you said about how the announcers get it wrong was really interesting. I think they mess stuff up all the time and I never even played football. My favorite one recently was when a guy on TBS announcing the Rockies game mentioned that we’d get to go home and play at Mile High Stadium next. Which is pretty funny since the Rockies obviously play at Coors Field and Mile High Stadium doesn’t exist anymore. Anyway, you are right on about the national media and it would be so fun to watch a game with someone like you who can point out exactly how these guys are wrong and whats really going on.
The win this week was great and I’m really looking forward to Monday Night Football. Its going to be tough passing up watching the Rockies game but I’m committed to supporting the Broncos and nothing is going to keep me from the game. I’ll bring a radio or little TV and keep up with the baseball game that way but I’ll be there as always wearing my orange and blue cheering for my Broncos! Have a great week!
Fox,
Babe great game!! Once again proving the little guys can get the job done just as well as the big ones. I love watching games when you guys are clicking. I love watching the D play like that. This win was what we needed. Now let the wins roll. This season is for D-Will and Nash. Were playing for them. An I understand the part with one helment being there and making you think of D-Will kinda being there with you. After that lost to the chargers (Im not gonna lie I was pissed at the way the D played) all I could think was “What would D-Will be saying right now?” This season is for them. Keep up the good work!!
great blog this week fox,
good win too, i thought you played great and really stepped up…i dont think the general public, mostly outside of broncos fans, really don’t know how good of a player you are, but hopefully they say sunday night, and hopefully you get more chances to shine throughout the season..i never doubted you guys, and its great to see a depleted team full of injuries come together and beat a very good pittsburgh team, keep getting better and we’ll be good when it counts..good luck against GB!! im sure the city will be nuts that night for the broncos and the rockies, if they dont sweep in 4!! haha…what about the soulja boy dance on Monday Night Football?? Keep doin good things in the community too, it really makes a difference to those people…have a good week, and good luck next monday…
CYA
-shill-
Great game….we believe in the players and the coaches…keep working at it…the team is going to get better…especially with the younger players having to step up…I know you guys aren’t going to be satisfied with how you are playing…you can get better with the players we have…
Go Broncos…All Ready!!
Foxy , what a game. I was souped when you popped Hines and made him drop the ball. It was very sad when they showed D-Will’s mom and Damien’s wife come on to the field. I miss Dee so much man . I am excited about the win. You played a great game 10 total tackles and like 2 or 3 catches allowed FOXY YOU ARE A BEAST !! I wasn’t worried at all when they announced that my boy Champ wasn’t playing because we have my boy Fox holdin it down on SNF !! I have the game recorded and I showed my big brother Ant his friend Ant and my mother the hit you put on Ward WOW he got JACKED UP !! BTW in that game vs the Bengals you also forced Chad Johnson’s first fumble that he ever lost in his career and Bailey recoverd it Champ and Darrent both had picks in that game too. I would in tears from laughing too much if you dressed up like Jake wow that would be great. I will floss extra because one of my heroes does !!I will tell my mom too !! I hope the Rockies win (I am a Yankee fan) I live in New England Patriots country and Red Sox Nation out here in little Rhode Island so I deff hope the Rockies kill them but Colorado is full of Rockies fans all of the sudden some Bronos fan quit on us and now love the Rockies (Marshall said it right)Monday Night Football yea !! My best friend is a Packers fan so this will be great !! Dre’ Bly is a beast he should have had 4 INTS he dropped 2 had 1 and could have reached out for 1 more but his shoulder was prob killen him. What a guy !! Played through that whole game just to help everyone out . Lets go get em on MNF.When you get a pick I hope too see you doin that Penguin Dance it’s hillarious I love it.
ALL READY !!!!!
A very good game Fox! I loved the hit on Hines Ward. Winburn’s hit on special teams was awesome too. Have a good game Monday night. I’m thinking of being a guinea pig for medical research. I would get 3,000 dollars for the effort and would then be able to buy your jersey. But I don’t want to grow a third arm or something because the jersey would not fit right. I want to see you do some touchdown dance Monday. Go Broncos!
you stepped up big last Sunday Fox, you rock!
Fox, you were a beast! I just want to let you know what you mean to a really strong bronco fan. Not only are you a really good athlete/football player, but you are just as good a person. Any team would kill to have a guy that has your skills and potential, and any city should love to have a guy who has the beliefs you have. Just want to drop a congrats on the good game, and a thank you! Keep up the good work!
Domonique,
My cousin and I while watching the Broncos/Steelers game on NBC rejoiced when you got to mention your name and alma mater during the starting lineups. Your play was just as good as anyone else’s on the team, so that’s noteworthy. Keep playing hard and things will get even better. As far as your media criticisms are concerned, I’m beginning a media career working in radio in my hometown of Manti, Utah. It’s really easy to fall into a snare and lampoon and criticize athletes excessively. Being a former athlete myself, albeit a mediocre one, I try to be careful in passing such insidious judgments because once again no one knows the circumstances you face better than you and the other 10 starers on defense. Make Brett Favre look ridiculous, that’s all I ask. Of course, judging by his sordid propensities (how do you like that big word, Fox?) you may not have to work that hard in making Favre do foolish things. We all believe in you.
Thanks again Fox,
Great win this week and I was proud to see you out there dominating. How would you rank HInes Ward in comparison to other receivers you have covered in the NFL?
God Bless
Fox,
I had to laugh when I read the blog. I thought it was funny that I can hear in your words how hard you are trying to be humble about your performance. But when you “mentioned” your stats and how many tackles you got, I can tell how excited you are about it. And it’s hard to make that kind of excitement sound humble.
Let me say there is absolutely nothing wrong with talking up your performance a little bit. (Just don’t get a big Chad Johnson head). You do enough for the community and kids around that you deserve to boast a little bit after a game like Sunday’s.
Well done, Congrats, and keep it up.
p.s. Please tell Brandon Marshall to wise up a bit if you get a minute.
i
I keep looking for this caring, lover of humans to show an ego of a millionare football player and its never there just a guy who cares a ton for his fellow man and a grieving Family God Bless you.
Foxy you had an awesome game! What? 10 tackles? A deflection too!
Plus you had that awesome hit on Ward early in the game that forced an incomplete. From what I could see though you were AWESOME in this game! A ton of tackles, good coverage, tipping passes, lots of stuff.
They gamplanned for Bailey and when he was out they figured they could pick on you, they were wrong. You are by far the best #3 cornerback in the league and could start on most other teams in the NFL.
Whenever somebody in our secondary goes down, its always a relief to have Foxworth to take their place.
I got so caught up in how good your game was I forgot to tell you how this blog entry was!
That story about Bly’s helmet just sitting there, I know it sounds cheesy, but it really makes you think. I don’t really know what to say about it, maybe because I’ve been up all night but it just seems like something really profound.
Anyhoo, this second comment is almost as long as the first one. Good work once again Foxy!
Fox,
That was probably the best game I have ever seen you play. You were an unbelievable tackler on two of the most dangerous receivers (a strong Ward and quick Holmes) in the game and you truly did Darrent and Damien proud. The emotion you played with is unmatched and I consider it an honor to have been present to witness it. Excellent game all around and please tell everyone to keep up the good work…
Thanks,
Joe (from Virginia)
Great game, great win! Big ups Fox!
All Ready!
fox… thanks as always for the insight and forthrightness. we as fans live out here on the fringes and hope to have some sort of connection with the players we watch and respect. you bring some sense of community beyond simply standing at a microphone and uttering something like “yeah the fans are our 12th man…” or whatever. so thanks for the effort… on and off the field.
and great work with what you are doing with d-will and his family and the youth center. your receptivity and openess about all of that keeps his memory vivid. taking responsibility for his legacy in a productive manner increases the reputation of all professional athletes. you defy the stereo type of “rich and selfish”, an idea too often accurate for some professional athletes.
keep with your humility and your sense of responsibility. it is inspiring…
all the best
kevin
hey fox,
great game!!! You have to beat the Packers, I got a 10 dollar bet on it with one of my old high school friends. He is one smug individual, its more for bragging rights than anything. Good luck.
I know you guys get a kick out of youtube, so heres one i think you will enjoy. If you have ever watched the SAW movies you will never look at it the same.

Beautiful Blog. Please dress up like Jake Plummer! Keep doing what you do. Love you a bunch.
The Fam
Hello Fox! You guys played a great game Sunday night. I think you did really good at Cornerback. The whole team looked like they were in rythm. I seen many more Broncos jerseys after the win Sunday night. I think that is sad. I wear my orange and blue with pride regardless of a win or a loss.
Any way, I think it was great that the team got a bye week so early in the season. I think you needed that break. The whole team looked so much better than the first 5 games. Keep up the good work
I so hope you beat Greenbay Monday night. My brother is an odd ball who is a packers fan so I want to rub it in his face when the Broncos win. Regardless if you win or not, I will be just as proud of the Broncos. I wish you and the rest of the team good luck for Monday night.
Sunday’s game was emotional becasue of the Williams mom and Nash’s widow. I think that was the greatest thing for the team to honor them. R.I.P. Williams and Nash! We miss you!
I think it is great it is so great that the Team built a boys and girls club in memory of Darrent Williams. It was extremely sad how his life ended but a very good thing happened as a reasult. The Boys and Girls Club will help keep young people out of trouble.
I also think it is great that you do a weely writing class at the boys and girls club. Stuff like that shows how much you care for other people.
Keep up the great work Fox, on and off the field.
Once again, Good Luck for Monday Night!!! GO Broncos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fox,
Outstanding game as always–we appreciate your efforts out there very much and also appreciate how you keep everything in perspective when it comes to football and life.
Enjoy Halloween also–I think the Jake Plummer idea is outstanding!! Thanks again for doing the blog during thick and thin.
fox et al broncos,
great win. let’s continue to keep the mental mistakes small so that the team’s talent can really show.
Sorry about my typos in my message. I typed it extremely fast and I just read over it and noticed the typos. I am sorry.
Go Broncos!!!!!
LOL good game! you did AMAZINGY!!! congrats!!! cant wait till monday night!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!
-PARIS (#1 BRONCOS FAN!!!!!!!!!!)
Hey fox, well I was only able to catch the game on the Broncos radio network because I was traveling back from Tucson to New Mexico (short weekend trip to see the UofA/Stanford game). But yeah it was a good game. My dad is a huge Steeler’s fan so it was kind of cool listening to it with him and just like comparing stuff ya know? It was great. I’m sure it would have been greater to watch it, but hey whatever works.
I sooo miss the snow in Denver. I was telling my cousin, who lives in Denver and is a sports writer for the Rocky Mountain News, when she was talking about it being 80 degrees the other day, that i remember when i was there in 2003, that it was 80 degress say on a sunday and like on Wednesday we got a huge snow storm and it dropped down to -1 with a -8 windchill!! It was insane, but I had a blast. I can’t wait til I have the chance to move back.
I think that’s hilarious what you’re planning on doing for halloween. That’s pretty dang cool lol. That’s also awesome about the Trick or Treat party too, sounds like some fun times indeed. Anyway i suppose that’s it. I can’t wait til Monday night to see you guys matched up against the Packers. Good luck!! Take care!!
~Steph~
Good game, i didnt realize that was you playing untill the second quarter. i thought champ had been put in but man you played good even great. As for the holloween party i should get an inviation. You go as Jake plummer and ill go as Ashley lelie or tatum bell. I would go as champ baily but i shouldnt because he is such a good player and i have the most respect for him(plus i dont want to shave my head bald) . Or i could go as nick ferguson that guy just seems to lift the teams pressure and looks and sounds like a funny guy. You know what go as mike bell and invite mike to go to the party. just a thought. when i saw the first part of the game i felt depressed because of the good people who werent there anymore. That win was great but i couldnt celebrate. It felt wierd because i realized that they arent here anymore again. i remeber looking at the madden roster and seeing darrent and i remeber this years new game when i got it not seeing darrent on the roster kinda got mE thinking and made me realize that life isnt guarrantied. My bad but Darrent and Damien showed me that. I think the graffieti (dont know if i spelled that right) is kinda a sign of disrespect, but i think they should make a giant pic of darrent on the wall kinda like tupacs that would look really nice on the side of the the boys and girls club. Keep playing the way your playing dom. I would do the penguin dance too on monday night fooball but you should play WR and do it. Personaly i would do the im a i dont want to be a chicken dance.
Great job Fox, with all the pressure from the losses and emotion from the tribute, you stepped up and played like an All-Pro. Thanks for the insight and for your hard work.
You played a great game Sunday! I also want to say that what you are doing in the community for youth is commendable. Keep up the good work! We also appreciate your being in touch with us, the fans. Have to say I’m one of those fans that has stuck by the Broncos and never given up on you guys. Good luck Monday night!
Fox,
Thank you for steping in and showing why we have the deepest secondary in the league. All those “experts” said that our secondary would have a bad day without CHAMP(The Best Overall Corner EVER). You and the rest of the secondary played great. Secondly, as a dental lab tech in the USAF thank you for your shoutout on dental heath i printed it out and showed a few kids that even pro athletes care about dental health. Thank you for being a great role model. Lastly i will be in houston from japan for the game on 13 DEC. Is there any particular time that is best to get an autograph from you guys. I know some times it can be distracting to have fans asking for autographs 50,000 times. So any help on this matter would be appreciated. Thank you.
*Correction*
I didn’t know that was Nash’s widow. Wow. I missunderstood. I thought both mom’s were being honored. I wish I could’ve been there to see that. Man, I miss those guys….

Fox,
That was a great game. We still (as always) have some things to work on but it was a thrill to watch the Broncos execute. You guys are starting to gel and it shows.
Now… No mercy for the Packers!
Foxy,
Each blog of yours gets better and better – more insightful and rewarding with each week. It’s a pleasure to read your blog!
I’m sure it was a truly emotional week for you and the team last week – I could tell from watching the game that there were a lot of emotions on the field. Your moment of thoughtfulness when you sat there and spotted the helmet and thought of Darrent brought tears to my eyes. The world misses him. Thanks for keeping his memory alive!
And Go Rockies! Come home to Denver and Rock the Sox!
Go Broncos and beat the Pack!
Fox,
Great game vs Pitt. Way to step it up.
so, i see there is another player blogging!!!!!
so i heard that the team went to the haunted house – the 13th floor, and only 1 of you guys even made it to the 7th floor. – is that true?????? if so who made it????
GO BRONCOS!!!
-PARIS (#1 BRONCO FAN!)
Hey Fox, (long time reader, first time poster here) nice piece about the tribute to our fallen teammates. It’s always interesting to hear a personal perspective on a moment like that, winning a game but only after you lost something much, much bigger!
You mentioned PTI and how you’d love to get on there, I have an easy way for you to do it, maybe it could even start a trend!?
If you’re ever lucky enough to score a TD, don’t dance, dont throw the ball away, don’t “souvenir” the ball for your collection. LOOK through the endzone, there’s often a few lingering military personnel there (Nov 11 coming up), walk up, smile, shake their hands, say THANKYOU, give them the ball and get back to the game!
Simple, classy, stylish.
Even a hostile away crowd like KC would have to respect that kind of class!! Maybe it could catch on around the NFL, and if YOU started it … guest spot on PTI??
Keep up the good blogging!
Dom,
You did a great job on Sunday. Champ who? Nah, I’m teasin because Champ is a phenominal player, but you stepped up to the level the team needed you and you did a fantastic job yourself!
May you should dress up as Kornheiser for Halloween….second thought….you wouldn’t want to scare the children on Halloween! It sounded good for a second.
Next….Green Bay….Monday Night stage is a big one and I think we are ready for the show! I hope Brett Favre likes to star gaze because I have a feeling he might be on his back all night!
GO BRONCOS!
