Expecting a Competitive Game

November 26th, 2011 - 11:55am by Rahim MooreOther posts by

How was everybody’s Thanksgiving?

Mine was fantastic. I ate at my house -– one of my friends, she cooks, so we just relaxed at home. I didn’t get a chance to see my family because they were in California, so I was there in spirit and they were here with me in spirit.

Overall, I’m thankful for a lot of things. I’m thankful that I can be able to play this beautiful game that God blessed me to play, be able to be a part of this team. It’s especially fun to be part of the team since we’re playing so well.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everybody.

Haven’t talked to you all in a while, glad to get this blog back up and running.

As a running back the past few weeks, it’s been great. I’m happy for everyone in that room, because the way everyone is playing, everybody gets to touch the ball now. That’s keeping all the backs fresh and not wearing us out.

I’m feeling good right now. Can’t complain. I’m just happy to be out here working.

Preparing for Primetime

November 16th, 2011 - 4:54pm by Rahim MooreOther posts by

I’ll tell you what, last week was great. It’s funny, with those type of stats, you’d think it’s tough to win, but we did it. Our coaches, they’re working their butts off. The win was definitely a turning point for us and I’m blessed and happy for this team. I was just watching the offense and kept getting more and more excited.

For an opposing defense, It’s tough, man. Because nobody wants to get run on. I just thank God that the things we’ve been doing as a team have been working. I just pray to God that everything keeps going and we give Broncos Country this good football they deserve.

Now we’ve got Thursday Night Football, primetime, the only show in town. I’m excited. But when it’s all said and done, I want to share it amongst these guys, my teammates. I’m looking forward to the challenge, seeing our guys going out there and balling out.

It’s the third straight USC quarterback we’re about to play — first Carson Palmer, then Matt Cassel, now Mark Sanchez. Being a UCLA guy, it’s funny. But Mark Sanchez is probably one of the best quarterbacks I played against in college. He really motivated me for my first offseason because of the things he did to me when I was a freshman. So I’m looking forward to the challenge. That dude, he’s a competitor, and I’ll say it — he came from a great program. He’s cut from that cloth. So it’ll be fun out there tomorrow night.

Back on the Field

First and foremost I want to say I feel fine and blessed I got to hit the practice field today.

As for the injury in Oakland, it’s hard to explain how I felt. I remember everything from the play — I was looking to pick off the pass and ran into my teammate’s shoulder. I just thank God I’m able to recover from those things, and suit up again. It was really tough, especially because my family and my mom was there. But the main objective is that we got the win. So I’m blessed that I was a part of that.

Right after the injury I felt fine. I even felt like I could’ve come back in. I felt like me, just laughing with the team on the flight home — that’s how I knew I was back to normal.

Building on a Win

October 28th, 2011 - 9:25am by Rahim MooreOther posts by

Last Sunday was good. We believed and guys just made a commitment. We know that we can make things happen, but it’s going out there and showing it with our actions. I’m proud of our team and I want this to continue. I don’t want us to be a one-hit wonder.

I’m glad we got the win. That’s behind us so we’re just trying to keep that building and keep going forward.

How do we keep it going? Just always remember how that felt and before you suit up, just always thinking that I want to feel that same way again, week-in and week-out. I’m proud of this team, how we overcame some things. We finished strong and won the game. All those things play hand-in-hand and I’m just happy for our team, our organization and also happy for Mr. Bowlen to give him that 400th win.

Ready for the Long Stretch

October 21st, 2011 - 11:33am by Rahim MooreOther posts by

I planned on going back to my high school over the bye, and I sure did go back and worked out. I actually had like a little high school practice — much slower than the NFL. Nah, but I went in and talked to the kids, shared some of my experiences and what I’m going through. I told them that if I can be here, they can be here. Always good to give back.

It also brought back memories. It brings me flashbacks to how hard I worked to get here. I did a lot of thinking over the break. It helped.

After the bye, we’ve basically got a college season coming up. I used the bye to help get ready for this stretch. It’s tough and it’s something I’ve never been a part of. The thing I have to do is just continue to take care of myself and continue to pray and take care of my body. Just keep working. Keep lifting.

Ready for Work

October 20th, 2011 - 6:19pm by Willis McGaheeOther posts by

I told you all I was just going to head home for the bye week, and that’s exactly what I did. Hanging with the family. That’s all I did, really.

Now I’m back and ready to get to work. Looking forward to this weekend. It’s always good to go back to Miami, but I’m looking at it as we need to go in there and take care of business team-wise. It’s not about what I’m looking forward to, it’s about what we need to go in there and do.

We’ve been hard at work preparing for the Dolphins, and tonight I’m just going to be chilling. Relaxing for my birthday. That’s about it.

I’m just ready for this Sunday.

Relaxing With My Mind on Football

I want to say to the fans, I love you, and I’m headed home to see my family and all my boys.

You can tell I’m excited.

I’m just going to go home and spend some time with the family, just chill out and see my little cousins and everybody. It will be nice to get some down time, but also think about how I can improve and finish strong the rest of the season.

Credit to the Blockers

October 12th, 2011 - 1:26pm by Willis McGaheeOther posts by

This week I just want to give credit to the big guys up front.

The O-line, basically they’ve been doing a great job as far as opening up holes for me, giving me lanes to run down and make plays for our team. I’m just happy to be a part of it.

As for the bye week, I usually just go home and relax, hang with the family, get away from football for a little while so I can come back and be ready for work.

That’s the same thing I’m doing this year. I’m going to head home, hang with my mom and just chill out.

A Familiar Foe

October 7th, 2011 - 12:54pm by Willis McGaheeOther posts by

Looking forward to this Sunday when we get a shot at another team in the division.

I think a win would be a big turning point for us, and it would be a great way for us to go into our bye week with a lot of confidence.

Having played in the AFC, I’m pretty familiar with the Chargers. I know what’s going on. That’s the good thing about me having played in the conference — I’ve gone up against them a couple times.

They’ve just got great players. Takeo Spikes, Shaun Phillips, Quentin Jammer, all those guys on defense, we’ve got to prepare to be able to stop those guys and make sure they don’t disrupt our passing and running games.

I’m looking to keep it up this week, because it’s all about having fun. So stay tuned.
