Greetings from the heart of the Tar Heel State, where I’ve temporarily decamped for a weekend not of R&R, but of time with both the extended and immediate family.
Anyhow, our year-by-year look at the Broncos after the bye continues with an examination of the 1995-1999 seasons, when the Broncos won four of five after the week off.
1995:
- Bye Week: 9
- Record Going In: 4-4
- Immediately After Bye: W, 38-6 over Arizona Cardinals.
- Notes: Triumph over Arizona was first week of 3-2 stretch, but Broncos closed the season as they began for an 8-8 finish, a one-game improvement over the previous year.
Notes, not-so-random thoughts, anecdotes and other tidbits from the fourth quarter of the Broncos’ first game on NBC since January 1998.
We won’t know until Sunday night whether Quincy Morgan will handle kickoff returns; Head Coach Mike Shanahan said Wednesday that the answer to that question would be revealed after kickoff against New Orleans.
